Went with my gut when it came to my apparel selection this past weekend. I had a few rough go’s last year where I was way too cold during my races. The biggest eye-opener being a race in Scotland when I experienced hypothermia for the first time, and let me tell you that was not fun! 🥶 Since then I have been going with the "dressing warmer and taking off layers" approach. Needless to say, when I saw that it was going to be 30F and potentially raining the entire time, I knew I was going to be wearing a few more items than usual. The only decision I really left until race morning was shorts vs. tights...this decision was ultimately made after my warm-up when I noticed there were a few down trees and deep water crossings. If there is any advice I would like to give it's to run in what makes you feel comfortable! You are the one that’s going to be out there enduring the pain, so the less you have to think about whether you are going to get too cold or hot the better. 🤗

Took Fred out on a date for Love your pet day. He didn’t seem fussed. Just said that’s what we normally do. Run through the woods and you love me a little bit. He’s right 🤷🏼♀️😂
A lovely (🤔) strength session, where I am discovering more and more just how weak I am 🙈 followed by some easy trail miles. Peaceful miles, much needed in the chaos that is half term! .

В спорте очень важна психологическая составляющая. Ещё давно, лет 15 назад, тренер мне сказал "не важно как быстро ты бежишь, важно то, что у тебя в голове."
А вот тут и начинается самое сложное, все эти личности в сознании 😁
"Ты пробежала плохо, очень плохо. На что ты вообще рассчитываешь?"
"Детка, ну не переживай, ты недавно такую нагрузку выдержала, это не так легко"
"Что такое? Что за сопли? Из-за забега? Какого забега? Так он аж почти неделю назад был, нашли о чем вспомнить. Ты решила в чем @xrace.wild.trail бежать? Какого цвета шапку возьмёшь?" И так далее.
Хорошо, что первая моя "личность" никогда не берет верх над остальными. Выскажется, поворчит и сидит себе спокойненько 😁

Today was a tough one y’all! 😩 Super long speed workout, windy AF and I was just not feeling it. 🙅🏾♀️ Thank goodness for @run.flowers.run and her positivity! She legit kept me pushing and wouldn’t let me give up — even when I really wanted to. 💯
We had completely different workouts today, but we kept high-fiving each other every time we passed one another, and it really helped! Thank you, Drea for being such a good friend and running buddy! 😘
