It’s my favourite day of the week!! 💖💖💖 Feeling pretty exhausted after an amazing, productive but slightly crazy first week back of teaching, choreography and events! I’d planned to workout this afternoon - but actually I’m just going to take a nice walk along the sea wall and get a takeaway coffee instead. Learning to listen to my body has been such a huge challenge for me over the years. I used to be the nutter who would genuinely smash out the gym 7 days a week, training twice a day sometimes! I was trained to believe that relaxing is lazy. That self care is lazy! Does anyone else ever feel that if you aren’t pushing yourself to the absolute limit constantly in all areas of your life then we are not trying hard enough?! But honestly, since I’ve learnt to chill out more, and care so much less - I’ve actually genuinely achieved so much more! Wishing you all a super relaxing weekend. Put your feet up, get a cuppa tea and your favourite biscuit for dunkin’ and reset your energy for another productive week. Attended my first ballet class since forever and man, what a workout 💦 I think I forgot how much energy and effort it was to maintain your posture, position AND grace
Loved how the class was paced so perfectly such that we can really focus on the techniques and really tune in to our bodies. Hell, you have no idea how hard it is to flex a foot while flexing AND pointing your OTHER foot! Omg. The confusion my legs were in! Hahaha
All in all, I’m so glad I found this place and would definitely sign up for more classes! Hopefully this awkward duck will learn to be as graceful as her swan teachers

Classically trained, Ally has been dancing since the age of 4 in the U.K, New Zealand and Singapore. She is a National Arts Council scholar and started early training at the Singapore Ballet Academy before joining the New Zealand School of Dance in 2007. Upon graduation, Ally joined the Singapore Dance Theatre where she spent 8 years with them dancing professionally. Ally is a certified Pilates Instructor and has experience in teaching group fitness/ballet classes.

Born in Singapore, Lisha started dancing at the age of 3. Trained at the Royal Ballet School and Central School of Ballet in London, she returned to Singapore to perform with Singapore Dance Theatre for 6 years. If I don’t create time to train, it’ll never be convenient enough to just happen.
I love my baby, and I love what being a mother is teaching me. This week, I’ve really been learning the value of just “making it work”.
Usually, I have such a tough time accomplishing things if the circumstances aren’t ideal - I tend to compartmentalize too much, and often end up with things left unfinished on my To Do lists because I couldn’t find the right time to dedicate to them.
I called my mom on Monday and cried about how stressed I am with trying to juggle being a wife, mother, housekeeper, chef, pet owner, dancer, human, and employee. I shared how much trouble I have doing things little by little, and not all at once. I said that I never had time to do anything besides give Lincoln my attention, and that I didn’t know how I would ever be able to do all the things I needed to in one day.
Then, I heard some pretty badass advice. My mom said “You just have to. 🤷♀️ You just have to make it work. Mom-Up, dig deep to find the strength you know you have, and just figure out a way to make it happen.”
At first, that was hard for me to hear. Like, mom stop assuming you know my life and that I can be successful in it if I really wanted to. How dare you believe in me!
Then, I understood: Whatever life hands me, I can handle. And not only can I handle, I can thrive; I can master my shit.
So here we are, getting some body love in where I can, because life only happens if I fucking make it happen. 💪🏻
