Thought for today.... Affect Change Everywhere 💎
In an interview today, I was asked if my work was too broad. I paused.....it took me a minute to conceptualize “the limitation” of funneling my focus, cares and passion into a single something.
After a minute, I responded no, after I realized the matters that require my voice and efforts are broad and related, connected by a single thread. It comes from a love most don’t comprehend. I was then reminded of the hummingbird - as clarified by the wise and spirit-filled Renee Wallace - I’ll never forget the conversation in which she clarified the hummingbird as akin to me.... Hummingbirds are incredible pollinators. They go from flower to flower, burying their face in the flower as they extract nectar. With each new flower... pollenation occurs and bloom is imminent. 75% of the worlds flowers rely on pollination, without it nothing would bloom and they would become extinct.
In legends, a Hummingbird is often portrayed as a healer or as a spirit being who helps people in need, and sometimes plays the important mythological role of fire-bringer.
#ibebizzy 🤷🏾♀️ so No! my work is not too broad - I am affecting change everywhere 😏😉 #changemakers#socialgood#dogood#be

"Let's talk to the soul" Is how the Russians say it. Baraonda is what happens when two souls sit across from each other with a bottle of spirit & let their souls free to talk. Like a poem from the streets of Moscow, this fragrance will embrace your body and touch your soul. #Nasomatto

With the government shutdown going on our 24th day now, we can only imagine the struggles a lot of federal employees are facing during this time. Their paychecks are being put on hold, but the bills unfortunately, are not. In Alameda, there’s a big Coast Guard community being hit hard. We decided we needed to do something about this. Working with the city, we created a fundraiser with a design by Seth Hamlin to help the federal employees of our community. Starting today, we’ll be hosting a 10-day pre-sale of adult T-shirts, children’s T-shirts and posters, so mark your calendars! All fundraiser products will be available seven days after the pre-sale ends. 100% of the proceeds will go to the people and families affected by the government shutdown. If you are a federal employee and going through a financial hardship due to the shutdown, please contact us at All Good Living Foundation. #Givingback#HumanKind#Kindnessmatters#Givealittle#Helpingothers#Communitycounts#Volunteer#Dogood#Causes#Donate#Bethechange#SocialGood#Nonprofit#AGLFoundation#DoGoodCrew#Respect

🌳We hosted our 4th annual Together for Life Pastors’ Breakfast on January 8, 2019 at the Park City Club for over 100 area pastors and ministry leaders. The goal of Together for Life is to bring pastors and ministry leaders together from around the city to encourage, inspire and equip them to "Stand Together for Life" in their churches and communities.
⛪️Pastor Chris Simmons of Cornerstone Baptist Church invited members of the clergy to learn more about our mission and events. Mark Campbell, Founder of the Vox Project, presented a compelling case for why pastors and ministry leaders need to move to action. He encouraged pastors to boldly speak for life – to stand firm and overcome the obstacles that ministry leaders so often face in standing for life, including fear of losing support. Joe Martin, Jr., founder and Senior Pastor of C3 Trinity Church, shared his personal story and inspired guests with ideas for how they can encourage their church families and ministry participants to make life-affirming choices.
💚Thank you to all of our inspirational speakers for leaving us with a renewed sense of purpose and understanding that the conversation about LIFE should start in the church and radiate out of Christ’s love and mercy to the community.
There are going to be a lot of people serving on MLK Day. Remember these quick reminders as you go out and give back. 1-Your why should be based around a sober judgement on why you want to volunteer. 2-Know the gifts of the community instead of the needs. 3-Don’t go tile a floor in a homeless shelter if you’ve never done it before. They will just have to do it over. 4- no one wants to hear about your first world problems. We are partners in community, neighbors in the mission, not saviors who need to heal the lost. .
This is the mission of Connecting the Cause! Let me help train your volunteer groups, and nonprofit programs to serve the right way with community at the center of service.

The craziness starts tomorrow, but I wanted to take a second before that to talk about this amazing person on the left. Who noticed how AMAZING our social media and communications were all of 2018?! Well that was all @stennysmith . Stennett volunteered to run our social media (and do a load of other tasks) for the past 16 months and she really upped our game in 1000 ways! Last month her time with us ended, but we are so thankful for her passion, pursuit of excellence and dedication to bringing you the best quality content. We miss her dearly.
Leave a ❤️ to thank Stennett for all of her hard work!
Now who has noticed all of the misspellings, grammar errors and ramblings of the past 3 weeks? Well that is me, the guy on the right. Stick with me as I get back into the social media game and attempt to keep it at the level that Stennett got us too!

“Even more important than the warmth and affection we receive, is the warmth and affection we give. It is by giving warmth and affection, by having a genuine sense of concern for others, in other words through compassion, that we gain the conditions for genuine happiness.”
