I have resurrected from my ‘break’ and am now dancing at Dutch National Ballet. I’m excited to continue to enjoy my dancing and be the best dancer I can be! I want to become a better ‘observer’ , and to learn the style and qualities that the rep here demands , so I can have a broader spectrum of knowledge. I’m also interested in movement and gyro, and of course seeing the art & music scene of Amsterdam! The memories I have of my friends at ENB will continue to motivate me everyday to be focused , dedicated and HAVE GRIT! Thanks to those who gave me courage to make the move ... on with the dance ! 💃🏻 (You can take the girl out of Bristol , but you can’t take Bristol out of the Girl!) #ilovebristol#royalballetschool@royalballetschool@nationaleoperaballet#hnb#dancersofinstagram#dancersofig#amsterdamlife#artistsofamsterdam
1/3 "Caminhos da Floresta"
As fadas… eu creio nelas!
Umas são moças e belas,
Outras, velhas de pasmar…
Umas vivem nos rochedos,
Outras, pelos arvoredos,
Outras, à beira do mar…
Algumas em fonte fria
Escondem-se, enquanto é dia,
Saem só ao escurecer…
Outras, debaixo da terra,
Nas grutas verdes da serra,
É que se vão esconder…
O vestir… são tais riquezas,
Que rainhas, nem princesas
Nenhuma assim se vestiu!
Porque as riquezas das fadas
São sabidas, celebradas
Por toda a gente que as viu[…] Antero de Quental
This is my ‘I’m so proud of myself face’. Today I once again (it’s addictive) stepped out of my comfort zone and watched and felt the magic happen.
Nervous and excited all at the same time but believing in what I have to share... I said yes to something that scared me and that I knew would be good for me. Today I spoke at the incredible Royal Ballet School in London and what an amazing experience it was.
The children and staff were so friendly and welcoming and totally inspiring. Thank you for having me. I delivered two talks all about the benefits of mindfulness for wellbeing.
I spoke to students about the ways that stress can affect both our mental and physical health, how we can identify these signs and symptoms and discussed tools to help us cope.
A subject that I’m passionate about and love to share through stories of my own experiences. I am so glad that I said yes. That I felt the fear and did it anyway and that I believed in myself enough to say yes (something I never use to do). I took this picture following my first talk to remind myself of the moment. I can see the happiness and pride in my eyes (and relief to have made it through part one of my day 😍). I’ve been busy lately setting up the studio and working my way through my ‘to do lists’ which feels great too. But I got to step out of this for a few days and use my other skills. It felt so great to feel this feeling. It’s been a while.
Thank you fabulous teaching staff at the studio and mum @katbozzy for holding the fort whilst I’ve been away 🙏
Today I reminded myself that positive thinking, being my own cheer leader, having the courage to share my story, being brave, being honest and being completely myself is a great way to show up in the world.
I hope bump was proud of me today too🤰
Make yourself feel proud today. Do one thing that scares you. Trust that you can do it and enjoy every minute of the feeling. It doesn’t have to be fancy....just something that makes you feel fabulous 😍🙏 #29weekspregnant#schoolspeaker#royalballetschool#mindfulness#mentalhealth#stressawareness#lifeskills#sharingmystory#studentwellbeing#passion#courage#honesty#wellbeing#yorkshire#uk#yorkshireyogi
I can do a bit better than the 10 year challenge filling up the insta-feeds at the moment... First photo is of all the boys surrounding Emma Maguire in Chris Wheeldon’s piece ‘Les Souvenirs’ at The Royal Ballet School. Emma just retired after her stellar 17 year career with The Royal Ballet. I’ve known Emma since I was eight, Brava my love, so so proud of you! 🔹And the second photo is with newly appointed BRB director Carlos Acosta taken 20 years ago (1999!!!)😱 at the half in the ROH before his now Iconic performance of Le Corsaire ‘slave solo’ at the re-opening of The Royal Opera House. Incredible memories! #waybackwednesday#ballet#emmamaguire#carlosacosta#royalballetschool#20yearchallenge
