Let’s talk about the idea of finding your purpose versus living with purpose. •
It’s such a hot topic right now to live (and work) with your “why” first and foremost. I know I’ve talked about it before! But what if you don’t know yours? What if it seems like this big, unattainable (yet also somehow supposedly inherent) goal you just can’t reach? Let’s stop putting this pressure on purpose and talk about the lies surrounding it. •
Lie: Everyone else knows what their purpose is.
Lie: You only get to have have one purpose.
Lie: You should have your purpose figured out by now.
Lie: Finding your purpose changes everything instantly.
Lie: You’ll know the finish line as soon as you discover your purpose. •
So instead of putting all this pressure on a big, grand “why”, let’s focus instead of doing things with purpose. Being mindful in the moment. Not running on autopilot. Asking ourselves if we’re making a choice based off joy or obligation, love or fear. That’s how we live with purpose. #mmbookclubmpls

Hey friends! Happy Thanksgiving!! ❤️ I’ll be out of the office until Monday to focus on being present + getting some projects outside of my business done. If you’re a business owner, I highly encourage you to do the same!! Even if it’s just for tomorrow, put an auto-responder on your email, put your laptop away, put your phone down, and BE PRESENT. It’s okay and your business will not crumble if you take a few days to not even look at your inbox! 💛 It will actually get you more excited to go back and tackle your work next week, allowing you to serve your clients even better. ⠀
Comment a “👋🏻” down below if you also plan on being present this Thanksgiving!! ⠀
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving week! We are enjoying it down here in Roanoke, Virginia with his family at Michael’s grandma’s home! I love coming here every year! ☺️ ⠀⠀⠀

If you could be bad at a holiday, I’d be bad at Thanksgiving. 😂🙈 Not the giving thanks and being grateful part, I try to practice and get better at that everyday! But the Thanksgiving food part.
Here’s a list of foods I don’t like:
Cranberry Sauce (what’s the point of that even? 🤔)
I know, I know. What’s wrong with me?! 🙈 I’ve spent most of my life celebrating holidays at my family’s Italian restaurant. They always had the traditional Thanksgiving meal, but I always had pasta or steak or chicken!
But it’s my dream to have a Thanksgiving at home where the family cooks together and makes a bunch of side dishes! Because I could find enough of those that I like. 😉 Green Bean Casserole is my favorite! And listen, I’m not a brat. I will absolutely eat turkey or ham to get some protein and I could have a bite or two of mashed potatoes and be fine. But I would just prefer to not eat those things. 😂 And definitely no pumpkin or sweet potatoes. While we’re at it, no gingerbread or eggnog either. Basically, I’m just bad at fall. But the fall weather... I LOVE! 😉💜

My mental health is always the worst during winter (as with a lot of other people!), so I made a list this morning to help when I’m especially anxious.
2. drink tea (instead of coffee)
3. move your body (exercise!)
4. light a candle
5. keep you room clean
6. eat healthy, home-cooked meals
7. wear a cute outfit, put on make-up (even if you’re working from home)
8. play with tigger
9. if you have to get work done, make a checklist by breaking a large task into many small ones and just focus on one task at a time
10. put your phone away!!!
11. most importantly: don’t try to think your anxiety away. if you’re feeling anxious, sit down and breath. do the above 10 steps. it’s OK to feel what you’re feeling. often, exerting the emotional energy to “fix” your anxiety makes it worse. just focus on something else. it will pass ❤️
Ahh, Thanksgiving. A time to slow down and eat all the good food. I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PS. Make sure to come back Black Friday for an amazing opportunity for just 2 businesses to change their trajectory next year. Stay tuned!

Who’s ready for Black Friday? 🙋♀️I sure have been writing a lot of Black Friday sales copy this month! It’s been so much fun to see my clients’ promos coming together, and it’s got me in the holiday spirit 😅 So I’ve decided to offer a Black Friday / Small Business Saturday special on my LAST available client slots for 2018: 20% off your December copywriting project! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you need copy for your end-of-year sale or Q1 launch, this is your chance to get it knocked off your list and save at the same time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s what some of my clients have said about working with me on their Black Friday copy: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“THANK YOU for the great emails. It makes such a great difference to have all the copy ready without me having to wrestle it out myself and I really think you get our tone and voice! Thanks so much for your help with this!! Very happy!!” - Adrienne ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
* "I can't tell you how much of a relief it was to have your help and support. You did such a great job adjusting the copy and making it sound very on time with the promotion, as well as simple enough for affiliates to adjust it with their brand voice. It literally took no brain power for me to go through and adjust what I needed to with your notes, that was so very helpful!” - Vanessa ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have very limited spots available, so if you’re interested saving 20% on your December copywriting project, send me a DM and let’s get it scheduled! 😍⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I'm a Missouri photographer, so chances are I'm not shooting mountain side, in the desert, or on the beach somewhere. I remember starting my business and not having a clue what instagram was or that, in the future, there would be a hustle to stay "relevant" and a pressure to shoot in epic places because of its existence. If I ever feel the pressure to post to instagram more or that my work is falling behind, I have to remind myself of how and why I started. I had this urge to simply create and tell stories, and capture the heart of people from all walks of life -- and that's what drives my business to this day. There isn't a father/daughter or mother/son dance that I haven't gotten misty-eyed at, because of all the sweet memories of the past and promises of the future that they hold. //
My clients are real people with real joys and hurts, real loved ones, real stories, real pasts and futures. I look at photos like these, and I'm reminded how little it's about "epicness", and how MUCH it's about people. Just people. I didn't have to prompt this photo, and I didn't have to have a mountain in the background for it to grab you and hold on. // This job is a privilege.

We have so much to be thankful for this season. Thankful that we both have jobs that are allowing us to chase our dreams. Thankful for this amazing business, and all of the sweet couples, and peers we meet. Thankful for a community of photographers who help us learn and grow our business. Thankful for each other- we have grown as a couple so much over the last year- I truly believe that together there’s nothing we can’t do. Thankful for our friends and family that love and support us. And thankful that God has been a part of everything we are doing- he has blessed us and protected us in so many ways, and we are so humbled by the things He’s doing in us!
So here’s to everyone who has been a part our adventure- thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Jessie and Ben brought their sunshine to the blog today!!
These two are OH.SO.SWEET. together. You can just feel their support and love for each other when you time with them. Jessie and Ben have been through a lot this past year - some major life changes interrupted their plans for a big Chicago wedding and while others may have given up, these two are fearless and their love is resilient!! ✨
I can’t wait to see what they come up with for their all new DIY wedding and be with them every step of the way. Because it doesn’t matter if you say 'I do’ at a ritzy hotel, or elope in your neighbor’s backyard. What matters is marrying that person you love and starting a beautiful life together!! ✨

In 2015 I found myself incredibly burned out, so I took an emotional step back from my business. I reconnected with my love of fitness and travel.
2016 the year began with a vision of open hands, releasing the death grip of what I thought my life should be. I was determined stop focusing on limiting beliefs and to open up my mind, heart, and hands to possibilities.
2017 was the sun rising behind the mountain. At first it’s dark and then the sky starts to lighten. The sun breaks over the mountains, filling the valley with light and warmth. The shadows of the past are chased away and filled with golden light.
2018 was standing on a cliff, looking at the view below and feeling the breeze wrap around me. Bold choices and audacious goals followed.
2019. A butterfly unfurling its glorious wings. The work has already been done, the transformation has already taken place. All that’s needed is to step forward.
No doubt all the crazy prep for the holidays is underway! Don’t forget to have fun and remember that our greatest gift is the love we give and the love we receive❤️ Enjoy every moment with your little families! #christinaamidonphotography
The struggle is real! I will never lose weight during this holiday season! My sweet tooth is just way to off the charts. Does it count if I do sit ups while eating my cinnamon bun?!?! 🤷🏻♀️

Yesterday I spent the day in Chester photographing 3 amazing sessions. I was sooo thankful to get out of the smoke and into the blue skies & sunshine🌞 I absolutely loved meeting this sweet family and had the best time taking their portraits. They were a joy to work with and so very sweet. I mean just look at those girls! ❤

a reminder to be kind to yourself because who you are is particularly beautiful.
Dear Threes, zooming out to look at the big picture of your life, what are the things you want to be deeply present for during this holiday season? What feelings, events, relationships, or experiences do you want to make sure don’t zoom by you too quickly? And just as importantly, what are some things you might find distracting you from the present, that you might need to put on pause until the new year?
Please share your answers below. Or your thoughts, reactions, or reflections. We love hearing your honest and heartfelt responses! It is so wonderful to relate to one another and learn from each other, too.

I love my family
I love my kids
I love time spent with others
But man I’m craving a week in Belize - Unplugged with just me and my thoughts.
It’s been a few years but this keeps coming up in my mind.
Next year I am putting on my TO DO list - Away With Me!
When was the last time you took a trip - JUST WITH YOU?
(This image was from a Yoga Retreat in Belize with just me and 20 women I hardly knew.
We sat on the beach and just learned about each other.
One of my favorite memories of all time!)
Kelly and her husband Anthony were such troopers! We met up at sunrise for their family session...three kids and one on the way in tow 😊 it was a blast...and I think those kiddos had even more fun afterwards gettin’ some pancakes 😜 Kelly is another amazing local photographer I’ve gotten to know living in NSB...it was so special for me to get to capture their growing family! .
Now my family is off to Tybee Island to hangout, eat pie, watch football, — 2 hours in and only minor breakdowns from Kai. 😳 A TIP for you mamas: we try and plan to leave when Kai is about ready for nap - usually without fail she knocks out 🙌🏻

Getting all the holiday decorating vibes from @westelmcharlotte I love how this neutral coffee table decor would pair up with just about any holiday decorations and pops of color! What color are you decorating with this year? Red, Green? Everything?
That’s me. Five years ago I began photographing friends and family out of my small apartment in my tiny bedroom. If you would have told me I would be where I am today I wouldn’t have believed you.
I realized quickly that my connection with Blush and the women I photographed went way deeper than I ever imagined. It has become a movement. A tribe of women who build one another up on a daily basis. A community that truly love each other and want to see each other succeed.
Photographing Blush clients heals me. With each story, and each photograph I learn to let go of the insecurities I have. The lies people have said about me. I learn to embrace the body, mind, and spirit God has blessed me with. Blush heals my clients and shows them how beautiful they truly are. It’s a safe space for them to be unapologetically themselves. To embrace their curves. To love their scars. To laugh and dance. It’s an experience that I believe every woman should have.
I’m still a work in progress. I think we all are. But being on this journey with you has made my heart full beyond measure. Who is ready to stuff their faces tomorrow?

Happy almost Turkey day!!! I can’t WAIT for a jam-packed week with my family and all of the people I love most. The Taylor family is kicking things off with a Capitals hockey game tonight and I am READY!!! 🎉
Two years ago, I would be spending this day answering emails and overwhelmed at the idea of stepping away from work for a few days. This year, I’ve gained a whole new perspective on the value of time with the people you love - and I hope that I can encourage you to give yourself permission to be present this week. I will be stepping away from work through Monday and hope that you do the same ❤️
Now tell me: what is your FAVE Thanksgiving dish that you’ll be having tomorrow?! Mine is my momma’s homemade Mac and cheese 😍😋
(PS: I had SO MUCH FUN shooting these portraits with my brother & sister at @battlefieldalpacas! If you are local and looking for a super fun place to shoot...I think you just found it 😍)

I know it's not quite #SmallBusinessSaturday yet but I wanted to get ahead of all the early Black Friday sales with this message.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a consumer, where you spend your money is a vote. When you choose to support an entrepreneur instead of a corporation, you’re voting to lessen the wage gap, to empower artists and encourage a dream. Thanks for always supporting mine 🖤 This holiday, try putting your dollars into small businesses, especially those owned by women and minorities.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Who’s excited for Thanksgiving tomorrow!? @billcarrig and I will be heading down to our family’s house in PA and I could not be more excited to relax and eat with family. I gotta be honest- this year has been a doozy and this will be my first “family event” since Easter!! Time is flying and work is eating away my life- here’s hoping 2019 gives me a bit more time for the stuff that truly matters. •
What are you all doing for Thanksgiving!? Let me know below 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

REAL TALK// Two years ago I was on the verge of calling it quits. I was exhausted, overwhelmed and unclear of what I should be doing, where to pour my energy and how to turn my business around from burnout to 100% engaged in my business.
So what did I do? I took one last swing and applied to mentor under @jamieanholt . She requested a video submission and because I’m better at writing than I am at talking to a camera. I did a video with a voiceover of some things I had written.
In the spirit of letting you know you aren’t alone in your feelings, I’m sharing a snippet of what I wrote. MAYBE this is where you’re at, and maybe reading my words from two years ago will give you hope that on the other side of what’s currently uncomfortable is change. •
“I joke that I'm living the dream, and while 70% of the time I feel that way. 30% of the time I question if I'll become just another statistic.
At 23 I didn't picture myself here. At 23 I didn't expect to wake up each morning overwhelmed with the thought of where my energy is needed most. I didn't expect the success, and I didn't expect to learn that not all busy is good. Mostly I didn't expect to compromise my happiness for the dream.
I'm here. I'm showing up. For myself. For my business and for my future. Because I can do anything, but not everything.
I say it sets my soul on fire to document love. Watching two humans interact on such an immeasurable scale is the wildest ride I'll ever take. It takes you to uncontrollable laughter, then to tears, yet it can ground you in a mere moment. I'm addicted to the roller coaster, to the connection. I know my hearts happiest when I'm learning, learning the road it took for each couple to stand before me. I know my heart bursts when they see one another on their wedding day. And I know it's my job, it's my calling to tell these stories the way they deserve to be told.” And you know what? Two years later. I’m here, showing up better than I ever have, serving clients with my heart and dancing my way to my office. I love my job simply because I’ve learned exactly how to pour into myself before pouring into this business. 📷 @sarah_tams
