#lifelesons Aug 1st I had an opportunity to invest in a company that was selling shares at $22, I #procrastinated and a month later shares are selling at $228... Friends and Family if there something you wanna do,do it. Someone you wanna tell you love, tell um. someone you wanna call, call um life is to short to #procrastinate
I feel like my brain is doing a really slow Windows update.....or an old school dial up internet buffering thing....😰😰
I'm not even procrastinating...I literally don't know what to do first......and I hate to do lists😟
I've got 11 search tabs open atm ...maybe I should delete 10 and focus on one thing...but then I feel like I'm not getting through the list quickly enough...maybe I just need cake to crank these brain cells up🎂😎
Some one just told me the magic word. OHIO - Only Handle It Once
I have been the queen of piles. I am definitely an organizer which led to organized piles along my kitchen counter. Who else does this?!?! What I know now is how crazy and stressful this is. If I can organize it then I should get it done. Only handle it once. Once you open mail - handle it or throw it away. When you open an email - answer it or put it in the trash. If you get a text - answer it. .
Quit putting it off or it can lead to a heavy load of guilt, which just makes it even harder to start. And enter stress. 😳🤣
I started this morning and boy does it feel great. Get er done!!!!!!
Do you quit on yourself?
How do you do it? Do you scroll mindlessly on social media? Do you take a smoke break? Do you hit snooze? Do you make yourself a snack?
You might not even realize it, but those habits that keep you from doing the things you know you need to do to move forward...they are your way of quitting over and over again, sometimes before you ever start.
Truth bomb: You're never gonna feel like it. .
The things we need to do to level up or make a wanted change are HARD.
But procrastinating...quitting on ourselves before we ever start...is going to leave us feeling stuck.
So what's your thing...your bad habit you find yourself turning to whenever you're supposed to be doing the hard things?
Imagine how far you could go if you took all that time and put it into meaningful action??!
So catch yourself the next time you find yourself reaching for that comforting habit that lets you off the hook...and STOP. Don't let yourself do it...
do the hard thing.
Before you know it, you'll will have created a new habit...one you're pretty damn proud of.❤️
#Smallwinsdaily. 7 Things i’ve learned.
Spartan Trifecta Race : Many said it would be easy and a breeze to me. Looking at me Fresh and clean, you might say so. #expectations
On the last part of the race, afternoon it poured rain and wind blew strong, typhoon ompong. Had to run, rope climb, wall climb and others while shivering for hours. #struggle
During the Race prep i battled many hurdles, such as, work problems, time management, sickness, depression, lost of motivation in the 14 days which i needed the most. I Was on the verge of backing out. Don’t #procrastinate
My only source of Motivation was Social Media, i chose to follow people who motivated me in different ways from athletes in different fields to entrepreneurs and random influencers even Friends with a great and positive persona. Also looking that they’re also prepping for they’re big days. #perspective
Social media is just a small part of my life which i choose to only display positive vibes. I still get a fair share of ups and downs. Social media is indeed a fake world but its the people i look up to that always has a positive perspective daily, fake or not use it for your self. #Filter
This was one if the hardest things i ever did in my fitness life. What ever you do, just absorb the same attitude they do and just do it #nike. Thats what most the people i follow do. They faced the music when drums started beating ready or not they showed no sign of weaknesses. But doesn’t mean struggle and fear is non-existent. We all have our down turns its how we react to it that separates good from great!! #Believe
Lastly, i am no where near a professional or top anything in what i do, but i do like challenges and stepping into deeper waters. Let us constantly improve ourselves in our own little way. #SmallWinsDaily#spartanraceph#trifecta
We are all fantastic at making excuses. This is in all areas of our lives, from going to the #gym to studying for an exam. We use excuses to rationalise our actions regarding circumstances, actions toward other people, and events. However, #excuses are often the primary reason why we are unable to accomplish what we want out of life.
One of the best #habits you can build is to proactively make a commitment to stop making excuses. Stop excusing your failures or your #procrastination and start taking the steps that are necessary to succeed.
Why does your brain love to #procrastinate ? 🧐Turns out the answer dates back to the pre-historic times, when our ancestors🐒 lived in tribes and their main goal for the day was to find an animal, kill it and cook it over fire, 🔥while not getting caught in the claws a bear...or a tiger🐅.
Our survival mechanism, which triggers a flight and flight response, is what causes us to procrastinate. The task we procrastinate on is seen as a threat by our #brains 🧠, so it tries to “escape”, in the same way we would ran away 🏃♂️from a bear in the past. Since we live in the world of 📱and 💻, instead of telling as to run, our brain prompts us to engage in an activity that bring us #instantgratification , which excites us😃 or simple brings that warm and fuzzy feeling☺️. But there is also a more rational part in our brain that tries to counteract that behavior, and pushes us to #reachourgoals However, it is not as automatic and instinctual, so it needs a little nudge.👈
Whether or not you procrastinate depends on which part of the brains wins the battle...🤺
More on this topic in the video on my YouTube channel. The link is down in the comments:
One of my most engaging post on social media was about a link to an article on how #writers are among the worst #procrastinators. Argh! #Guilty, your honor!⠀
Last week, I kinda lost my writing momentum, and I found myself needlessly surfing the internet for topics that had no relevance to the #businessbook I'm trying to #write. I tried to cook. Hired cleaners to tidy the house, especially my work area. Ordered different soaps online. Obsessed about how to sort the laundry. I even started sewing some clothes.⠀
Yet, when I get back to my laptop, the big white page just stared at me. I couldn't bear staring back, so I'd run away to the comfort of some other activity I justified as being productive. ⠀
The engaging article talked about how writers breezed through and excelled in school by sheer #talent. In #professionalwriting, talent's not enough, but #discipline and being strategic count as much, if not more. But how we defined #success in school did not prepare us for #failure. We were always 'perfect.' Not writing a perfect #essay or a feature article is a failure. We freeze in the face of a blank page bec the thought of typing words that dont glide like a #prose or turn into award-winning projects is failure. ⠀
Over the years, having #deadlines and seeing live metrics of how my pieces #published online is doing have tempered my nagging desire to #procrastinate. But sometimes, like last week, it just emerges again on the worst of times. ⠀
Today, Monday, I resolved to get things done, and catch up on the number of words I need to type on the pages of my Scrivener, my #bookwriting app. It has a word counter, and I'm at least 4 days and almost 6,000 #words behind. ⠀
I'm writing this IG caption after I've typed in over 3,000 words. My fingers now feel numb, my lower back hurts from sitting for hours straight, and I'm hungry. But I'm happy. Tomorrow, I'll add some more to my #wordcount, and hopefully #getbackontrack. ⠀
A positive aspect of #procrastinating last week, though: My work area is spanking clean and organized, there's food in the ref, my clothes fit well. ⠀
Tomorrow is another day!⠀ #writersofinstagram
It's that old saying, 'If at first you don't succeed...' but it is so unfortunately true! Trying again can be frustrating, take courage and faith but in the end it's the only way to get to your goal. I'm with you today! Happy Monday everyone - we've got this! 💪🏼
But today it’s gonna be different💯. I’m gonna do all those things that got me to pro status. 👊🏻What’s on your to-do list today? ✍🏻
Did you know that you have the option to rush an order to get it out faster?
