I just couldn’t handle it anymore. Opening this cabinet gave me a overwhelming amount of anxiety. I despise Tupperware. Especially since it’s so convenient for our family so I keep it around. So this morning after my work out I finally had it. I can breath easy opening it up now. .

Hitting the nail on the head.. something that comes so naturally to any tradesmen is a skill that takes time to learn and often causes frustration as a student. At OK, we teach patience and persistence in even the little things.

We recently received a $50,000 grant from the City of Brantford that will extend over the next three years! We are so thankful for the support we have been getting from the community as we work with the young people of Brantford.
Ezri was working on a gorgeous walnut shelf at Open Shop last week!
🛠Jacob’s story part 3: “For a while I was an only child. I had an upstairs bedroom and a playroom in the basement, where I could sit on my little Spiderman couch and watch The Land Before Time or play Super Nintendo. I didn't have many children my age to play with at home because I liked to cause a little trouble as a child (sorry mom and dad) and I wanted someone to play with and look up to me. I wanted a sibling. I wished on stars, begged my parents, and prayed at night for a little brother or sister.
Then in 2008 my wish came true. I remember being in school and getting a call that the baby was born. My dad drove me to the hospital, where I held Emerson for the first time. I was a brother.
The playroom became my bedroom. I tried my best to be a good brother, and I still do. I taught him all sorts of things, most of them good, and I think he's going to have a bright future. “ @jacobhill_01
Check out these coat hooks that Carissa made for the shop! .

Look at the detail in this small piece Nathan created on the scroll saw. .
🛠Jacob’s Story part 2: Our family lived in a small house in Eagle Place for the first couple years of my life. I don't remember any details from this point of my life, but my parents must have done something right. We later moved to a larger home in another part of Brantford. This is where many of my earliest memories take place. My first days of school, my first pet (Rip Bloop-Bloop the fish), and my birthday party. A good part if this period in my life was having a friend who lived very close. Many of my friends from this time were my friends for a long time, and still are.
After a couple years at that house we moved to a smaller house not far away. This is where I got my first try at woodworking. @jacobhill_01

This jewellery box was built by Austin and given as a Christmas gift. It was a more complicated build with all of the angles to cut and ensure each piece fit perfectly within it. Austin worked patiently on this project over the weeks alongside Shawn, Randy and Gord.

🛠Jacob’s Story part 1: “The next posts are my personal life story. Hello my name is Jacob Hill, but you already know that from reading my username. Many if the people who follow me are my friends who I know off line. Some of you are people I've met once and some of you I've never met before. No matter where you lie in those categories, you might see my account as a sort of woodworking blog, but it actually started out as me posting random pictures about what I'm doing, just for fun. Over time, as woodworking became more relevant to my life, this account gradually transitioned into what you see now. Some of you might wonder how this came to be, and some of you might just be bored. Either way, I've decided to briefly tell my story.
I guess I should start from the beginning, and summarize my life up to this point. Much of this will be boring, so hang with me.
I was born in August of 2001 at the Brantford General Hospital. From what I'm told I was a small baby, which is believable if you've ever met me.“ @jacobhill_01
