Açaí bowls- it’s like ice cream for healthy people. 💁🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I’m just a runner, wishing I was running. After all this time, I still haven’t learned how to do this thing called “rest days.” Send help.
#throwbackthursday to my Ironman days! After the next couple years I would love to get back to Ironman Texas, and maybe a few destination 70.3s! Hawaii and Cabo come to mind...😎. Do you prefer to race on your home turf or destination races?
Well @mollyrunsnebraska and I are fed up with this winter and having to drive 30 minutes to use a treadmill so we bought one last night! Don’t ask us about how the assembly went... too long and skipped a couple of steps, but all is well now. 🤪so of course at 1 am I had to break it in with a 75 minute run, followed by stretching and core in my favorite @mind.over.matter.athlete shirt!
I hope you all have a great day!

February was weird, guys. I dealt with runners knee, fell twice on ice, picked up every sickness that was passed around the office, and logged more dreadmill miles than I ever have. BUT. I’ve also almost doubled my daily calorie intake, I stretch every day, I’m drinking a ton of water, and I’m gaining some muscle. WHO AM I!?•••••
Nonetheless, there’s only 24 days until I take the streets of New York with my new found strength. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m ready to let loose. 👊🏼 •••••
Happy Friday Eve, friends. 💕
Hey guys 👋🏼 still here! I’ve been sick since Saturday and it totally whooped my butt so no running. Just when training was getting good, too 😒 tried an easy 5k on the treadmill today to see how I was doing. Went ok but as soon as I was done I started coughing again. Let’s kick this thing so I can get back to it, shall we?! .

This silly sport we play is about mental strength not just physical. A lesson that became crystal clear today. .
So between the “snow” 🙄 , ALL the cancellations and my kids being kids, I had to get out of the house. The negative energy was consuming me and I needed to get it out of my body...Immediately. Normally, I hate zone 2 treadmill work (especially anything over an hour) but today I said 🖕and punched it right in the throat. I started my normal treadmill show (Jack Ryan) but I quickly turned it off because the noise in my head was still consuming me. I found a blank space on the wall and zoned out. I let my brain release all the bullshit that was tumbling around in there. Every time my toes hit the belt, I felt the pessimistic thoughts crumble under my feet. Success. #titsup .
The amazing, @my.runstagram.life talked to me during my run today. Well, it was a podcast, but I think she was speaking to me.
I feel like I’m so far away from where I was last year at this time. It does seem a little overwhelming when I think about how far I have to go just to get to where I was. In the podcast today she talked about how fitness takes less time to come back after injury or time off than it takes to get to that fitness level in the first place. I know each person is different and each case is different, but I’m inspired! Thank you for sharing your story, Kimberlie. I hope you are still celebrating that 3:23 and BQ! 💙💛
5 miles not looking at watch which ended up with a perfect progression
💪🏻 lift session at the gym
5K row with an all out finish
It’s another good day, friends! Happy Wednesday!
Tonight on my dark and snowy run a car pulled up along side me and asked, “Dude, what’s your motivation?” The first thing on my mind.. BEER! I don’t think he was expecting that answer, but he wished me good luck , and to keep up the hard work. This interaction hit me hard tonight.. I wasn’t lying I mean I was part of #TeamULTRA, but beer isn’t my main motivation or goal. In fact not even close, what I wanted to say was Western States and pursuing the promise I made to my 7th grade self of becoming a sponsored athlete. So why’d it hit me hard? I’m doing the miles, but that’s it. I haven’t been stretching, lifting, and doing the little things, all things that make a huge difference, and will help me greatly with my goals. So starting today, no more slacking and bull shit. All blood, sweat, and tears and whatever it takes to get me closer to my long term goals. 💪🏼🏃🏻♂️I wish you all a great Tuesday! Let’s crush this week!
#Latergram So, Sunday may have been my last run of this pregnancy. I was able to run/walk 3.5 miles which I’m super proud of. I’m so thankful to have run this far into my pregnancy and I think it has played a huge role in keeping me healthy. If I run again before Brooks gets here, that’s awesome. If not, that’s okay too. Right now my goal is just to keep my body moving until delivery day but also get plenty of rest.
Sometimes it's easy to think of ourselves as "just runners". Sure I run. Truthfully, I run a lot. But we are athletes. I'm an athlete, just like my favorite @mind.over.matter.athlete shirt says. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Last weekend, I ran a really solid marathon. But later this year, I'm running The Tahoe Triple. That's 3 marathons in 3 consecutive days! I'll be running completely around Lake Tahoe at an average elevation of 7500 ft. In order to crush this, I need to get stronger. I need to continue to grow as an athlete. Today was a great start to my strength training regiment!
Do you consider yourself an athlete? You should! 💪🏼😁
