Am I a traitor if I wear Birds gear on Sunday but root for my Steelers on Monday? ·
I LOVE football season. Essssspecially the food and drinks 🍗🍺
Unfortunately, all of those calories can add up, leaving you in a caloric surplus for the week after dieting like a good little IRL or boy.
BUT DONT STOP.
Just choose healthier options.
🏈 Make your own dips/sides. Use low fat cream cheese and cheese (because it's still delicious) and use celery and carrots and you're good to go
🏈 Drink lo-cal. Miller lites are always nice and cheap, and low cal. Just do it.
🏈 grill yo meats and wings. Save a TON of calories just by grilling and not buying the fried stuff. 🏈 Enjoy the game! Pick a plate, make your plate, and that is it. Don't keep snacking, you'll be half of a buff chick dip in before you realize it! ⬇️Happy Sunday y'all! What are your go to football Sunday Eats?⬇️
Our two disabled budgies. These two were given to us by another rehabber who works at a local pet store and takes in injured, sick, or disabled animals that come in with each shipment. She does this to prevent them from being put down. This is why I want to responsibly breed healthy, loved, well cared for budgies in the future: the budgies coming in to pet stores from the huge warehouses in which they are bred are often severely injured or ill upon arrival, and responsible breeders can help lessen the demand for factory farm birds while also educating people about budgies and their needs.
Drumstick (lutino male(?) - named after and in honor of Drumstick the African Grey) is missing a leg - it was amputated without ANY pain relief and he is lucky to be alive. Poptart (pied violet hen) had a severely broken wing, which she now carries at her side and cannot use.
I will now, in honor of Drumstick the Grey, begin taking in disabled small birds, and I will continue to rehab - but now my focus will ONLY be on birds. ♥ #adoptdontshop
Some of you who have seen my story are already aware of this. The seeds I got for my birds was initially had 50+ ingredients. That's actually great but my birds never consumed 90% of the ingredients. I decided to go with something simple that has only 3-4 ingredient. I got the seeds from Walmart (Good Value) and I regret it. I've used this brand on and off for four years now. To anyone who isn't aware, I give my birds ad treats and not daily. They typically get seeds 1-2 times a week. Yesterday I found a cigarette bud in the seeds I was going to give. All the remaining seeds are in the garbage now. I was so upset and angry. Cigarettes are toxic for birds. I did contact Walmart but I highly doubt a big corporation will care. The moral of the story is, stick to pet food brands that can live up to you expectations and promise healthy ingredients in controlled environments! I've had many recommendations on which brand I should use. I decided to try Dr. Harvey's budgie seed mix. Its a bit more expensive but I wanted to try it for a long time. The birds are doing fine 💜💚
