I took this shot on my phone as I was about to descend into Sydney after a trip to the GC. It was a sunset flight. They get me every time. The peace, the vast open space where nothing was happening except the sun slowly creeping over the horizon above the stark contrast of the craziness of life below the clouds. The beauty of a sky lit up in burning oranges, reds and yellows, reflecting off the fluffy white cloud. It’s my happy place. But when we broke the clouds, I realised a thunderstorm was happening and below us just a few hours later, they had to close the airport it was that bad. Darkness, rain, and destructive winds. Where did the sun go!? Yet I knew it was still there shining a few feet up because I just came from being in it’s presence. It was undeniable. It got me thinking. No matter the circumstance you are in and no matter the internal storm you may be facing, Gods goodness is still shining. There may be a darkness surrounding you right now, but just a few feet up, His peace is there unwavering, His beauty is there uninterrupted, His victory which is your triumph is still true. His grace and love still ready for you. His joy and kindness and mercy and promises and strength, it’s still all there. HE is still there. I know this because when you’re in His presence, The truth of who He is, is undeniable. Chase His presence if you need a reminder of His goodness. Worship and sing His praises, even when it hurts. Where did the SON go you ask? The storm will pass and you’ll see clearly again He was there all along🌤🙏🏻
Although the moon was not able to be captured clearly on this windy coastal night, and with nothing more than the use of a steady hand and a galaxy s9 plus, it does depict a clear perspective of how I enjoy seeing the moon. Laying on your back, with head north and feet south, left arm pointing east and right arm pointing west, tilt your head to face the moon exactly how the sun shines on it ...and realise that this is one giant yet tiny organic space ship with a beating heart at its core, and 7.5 billion passengers.
