I was starting to lose my cool today, and so were they. I wanted so badly just to keep moving forward and get our @masterbooks language arts done, but I stopped myself. We went outside for a little break and ended up staying out for over an hour. We pointed out things God had created, jumped on the trampoline, played with the dogs and got back on track. -
If you're struggling through your school day, it is 100% worth it and 100% okay to just ditch what you're working on and go outside.

Homeschool Sanity Saver for those of you with littles and older kids//
Crankles has been going through a clingy phase lately and always wants someone to entertain her or play with her. When I am helping the big kids with school work, sometimes it gets out of hand. I set up her little table in the dining room though with activities to keep her little hands busy when we are trying to get other things done, and it has been a life saver! Currently, she has an easel with a dry erase board. She has coloring pages and an art box. She has Bendaroos for creating, and we put together a container for Moon Sand so that she can play with it without it making a mess. It keeps her happy, and it allows me to be able to do what I need to do with the big kids! What are some ways you take the stress out of your homeschool day?
This picture makes my heart smile. As a mom, I’m never in pictures. My son took this today and I’ll cherish it. My days are filled with the responsibility of 3 education plans. It’s a responsibility that I love yet feel the weight of daily. These tiny moments of flash cards and reading stories are ones I’ll never forget. Some days I wonder why this was the plan for our family. Other days I relish in this plan that God laid out for us. Life is funny. I’m leading one that I never planned for. Yet I’m so thankful and full of joy. 🙏🏻🙌🏻 #homeschool#homeschoolfamily@allaboutlearning@firstgradehomeschool#homeschoolmama
#homeschool win 🏎 Simple motor construction project.
He has played with this over and over. Taking it apart and putting it back together in different ways.
If you have a curious child, this is a kit you might like.
We ordered it 💻 from www.sciencewiz.com
The price was reasonable. And it came with a variety of projects using items you could find around the house.
Although it did come with all the needed parts. 🙌🏼 #momwin

Today was one of those days where I am just bursting with gratitude for being able to spend my days at home with these 3 amazing little humans.
Today was tea, snuggles, and board games. It was also arguments, spills, and frustration. It was an ordinary day.
We made the decision to be a one income family 10 years ago. It’s been a good choice, but I was glad to contribute to the family again this year through my #homebasedbusiness and am excited to see how the flower farm will grow while blessing others with beauty and educating our consumers on the importance of supporting local agriculture.
Lots of gratitude as my head hits the pillow tonight.

How do I get my kids to eat veggies??? Accessorize them! They’ll eat anything that has bacon and cheese....same with the husband too! 😂 One of the members in my success group shared this and she said it was delicious! I could easily see this becoming a great dish to share at a #superbowlparty
Loaded Cauliflower Bake
Recipe and photo credit: delicousmeetshealthy.com
1 head of cauliflower about 6 cups, chopped in florets
4 slices bacon
2 cloves garlic minced
1/4 cup almond milk or regular milk
1 Tbsp grass-fed butter
salt and ground black pepper to taste
fresh chives chopped
1/4 cup shredded cheese optional
Boil cauliflower florets in water in a large pot, until the cauliflower is soft, about 15 - 20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
While cauliflower is boiling, cook bacon slices in a skillet until crisp. Crumble and set aside.
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Puree cooked cauliflower with a potato masher or hand blender. Add minced garlic, milk, butter and season with salt and pepper. Mix in some chopped chives.
Transfer cauliflower mash to an 8 x 8 casserole dish, top with crumbled bacon and shredded cheese.
Bake in the oven until cheese melts, about 5 minutes.
Top with some more chives before serving. Enjoy!

I can't NOT share this with others and I tell you why...(a little long but bare with me). It has been amazing the way my life has changed for the better in the last few years. So many answered prayers❤️...first off let me just say if you are diligently praying about something your answer WILL come. It may not be in the way you expect though!
One of my answered prayers is my involvement in coaching.
Before I was unorganized, unmotivated, and definitely unhealthy. I literally was praying for a solution.
Of course coaching has been HUGE in getting me healthy and helping me lose weight with the very best tools that can accessed from my home... Which is AMAZING because this mama of 3 finds it so very hard to leave the house!
But beyond that is the unexpected blessings I have received through leadership growth, confidence, friendships, an amazing support group, strategies that have made life easier, a way for me still contribute financially, plus the realization that I am allowed to dream and still have huge goals for myself even as a stay at home mama. How awesome is that!!!🙌 It can be a challenge leaving the traditional working world, but coaching has given me just the outlet that I needed.❤️ The list really goes on and on... I was unsure and skeptical when I began. I certainly didn't "feel" like coach material, but thank goodness I was encouraged to just start where I was. My coach helped me realize that I could make healthy changes and share my struggles and victories in order to inspire others even when I was 30 lbs from my goal. I am so ready to run with my coaches and challengers this year and meet some their awesome goals together! I would love to add some more ladies to my team who really want this in their lives! Are you open to chatting with me about coaching? Reach out! Shoot me a message or leave an emoji below and we can talk about how coaching can work around your current life and needs. #thisiswhyicoach#fitbossfamily

I’m going to start sharing the girls’ photography more regularly this spring as we dive deeper into my photo curriculum. I’ll also try to share some tips as we go, both on photography and teaching photography (some from the book and some not).
I happened to be standing with Cricket when she decided to take this backlit shot. I suggested she focus on the tree in the foreground, not the sun or near the sun, because the camera struggles if you’re trying to focus on a bright light source. She did a great job creating a sharp, backlit image by focusing on the foreground tree. (Backlit means the light source is behind the subject, facing the camera.)
I’m also teaching my girls some really basic Lightroom, so they can adjust exposure, contrast, and saturation. The photos of theirs I post may be right out of the camera or may include their basic edits. This one has just a few tweaks Cricket made.
Link in profile to my kids’ photo curriculum. Now in paperback!

As I sit in the tub taking a few minutes to just breathe after a very full day and having another realization of something else God was telling me no to I hear my 11 yo love on her brother in a way that melts my heart. As he cries for me, she helps him take a break, take deep breaths, and says "Orion do you like baths? So does mommy. She will be done soon."... and I hear him calm down.
You guys, I have been working with my girls on Love and Kindness, being thoughtful, responsible, respectful... all those characteristics we want them to have and it's been about 3 weeks but I am beginning to see it naturally happen in their behavior.
And get this, we are about to have 1 heck of a full moon and this time instead of nasty meltdowns happening I am seeing Joy. for some you make think this is silly, for some, you get it. What you put out you get back. ❤
“Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction.”
~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. We met new friends and wound our way through the woods until we came to rest at the lake. It was a good day. #slowschooling#wildandfree
So first off, Happy Thursday! Got onto this oh so popular Social Media thingy a little late today. .
This morning was a 4am wake up call from the “man child”. Then a racing through the morning as I had commitments, home Schooling, and a husband home! We all know how husbands change the routine of the day. 😏
Then afternoon of running said man child to take and pass his belt test, then hair cuts, purchasing of a mouth guard, and cup 🥴! (Why Lord does this Mama have to do this?)
Anyone feeling me here?
All this to say I came upon quote of one of my favorite Authors. Anyone else hooked on her and her podcast and books? This hit me right square between the eyes! HELLO! Change is up to me and all the good things to come are in my decision path! All the crazy of Motherhood and being a wife, all the good of these things can and WILL be changed by me THIS day, THIS year! The yucky medical news and reports I received last December are mine to change!

If you've been in a place where it feels like a s-t-r-u-g-g-l-e, then hold on dear friend! God is working on your behalf. Keep looking forward, because He is making something new. Something beautiful. Something you couldn't even imagine if you were told.
When you are in His presence, you are sheltered, you are under the covering of God's grace, you may bend but not break. Even if everything around you looks like it is destroyed, He is bringing you to a safe harbor. Look to your left and to your right, do you see someone standing with you in good faith? Be praying for each other.
He did that for Lot. He went with angels when he heard the outcries from Sodom. Lot was in Sodom, a city that actively rebelled against God, for as little as 13 years and maybe up to 24 years. In fact, Lot and his immediate family were the ONLY ones found faithful. Oh, that must have felt really lonely. So much time around so much spiritual rebellion. I would have been worn down.
Yet, God was gracious and merciful. Because of Abram's persistence, God granted safe haven for Lot. Talk about a huge intercessor! Do you have one, too? Someone watching out for you? Someone with great faith entering the throne room of heaven on your behalf? Maybe you are THAT person! Praise you for your efforts and tenacity even when things look dim. God will answer that prayer, it may take a while but that deliverance is coming! Don't give up, He is still in the miracle business. He is making the impossible...possible! Don't look back.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:18 NIV .
So my car wouldn’t start today while I was out with my four kiddos. Like couldn’t jump it, had to call a tow truck get a new battery wouldn’t start🙈 For some reason this was just super frustrating to me; we are talking I legit cried🤦🏼♀️ but looking back at how the Lord orchestrated everything is truly beautiful. My mom was with us and she walked the boys to the library to keep them busy. My husband was able to come and attempt to get the car started. My girl Courtney just happened to be at the same coffee shop we were and she managed to keep me laughing the whole time. My mother in law has AAA and works at the library so we were able to get the car towed. Now, did I realize all this while it was going on? Of course not. I was mad that we had to fix something else on one of our cars (we have two old cars and we’ve recently had to put quite the penny into both of them but no car payment makes it worth it most of the time🤣). But, I wasn’t alone, I had help, I had coffee. I’m trying to be better at being content with whatever and wherever the Lord has me. Today was a trial and in it I forgot to be content, my first instinct was to get mad, not pray. Thankfully Jesus has more grace with me than I deserve🖤 #honestmotherhood#contentment

HOLD UP Y’ALL!! 💥💥💥💥💥 Let’s talk about NUTRITION for a minute. I totally let myself go from Thanksgiving until about a week ago. I was unhappy with my weight gain, loss of muscle definition and my attitude. I had to do something to get my MOJO back so I did!! You see, I do MUCH better in life when I cut grains and dairy at least 80% of the time, when I actually write out my meal plan and commit to myself and the program I’m on 100%. These photos are just 4 days apart y’all!! This is 4 days of focused nutrition and no grains or dairy. This is what committed to myself and my goals looks like. This is how we gain back definition, loose pounds and get confidant again!! Yes, it’s hard. No one said it would be easy to reach our goals. Yes, we have to invest something into it so we commit. Yes, it is 100% possible!
So what are you waiting for??? Are you unhappy with where you’re at and not sure how to find that confidence? Are you a Mama who needs to remember what that pre baby body was like? If you are ready to do the work, with my help of course, DM me or comment below TODAY!! You don’t have to settle, you can be confidant and extraordinary in life my friends!! #results#transformyourlife#goals#confidant#nutrition#focused#healthyliving#beingreal#dairyfree#grainfree#ifeelsogood#whatareyouwaitingfor#dothehardthings#investinyourself#decidecommitsucceed#sahm#homeschoolmama#wfhm#healthymom#maketodaycount#eatitliftitmomit

Today's adventure day went a little bit sideways. We missed 3 busses trying to get to our reggio emilia beach playgroup. Yes, three. It was that kind of morning. While I was starting to get really irritated because our fun plans were ruined again, I took some breaths and asked DJ what he wanted to do now, park, forest, or a walk. A walk a walk! He yells. I ask him to pick any direction, he points and off we go on a walk.
Only one block later I spot a little boy beside the road and a parking lot. He looked about my son's age, was completely alone and had no jacket or sweater on this cold morning. We approach slowly and I'm looking around to see if he was with someone close by. He looked a bit scared and came with us when I offered my hand asking if I could help him find his mommy or daddy and we walked into the nearby library, where it turns out this little angel had run outside while parents and librarians were frantically searching. My heart was in a panic for this poor mother who melted when I brought the boy inside and thank goodness nothing happened to him.
I can t believe we had almost walked by this little kid, busy with our own plans for the day. Sometimes missing busses and changing direction means you are being led to help someone else.
Happy Thursday! 🤗 I’m thrilled to see so many new and inspiring mama’s following along recently so I thought I’d take a second to reintroduce myself - Hi, I’m Jenn! 👋🏼 I’m the face behind the camera 📷 and the proud mommy to one very sweet/sometimes sour 🍋 little guy named Alexius (uh-lex-ee-us). Yes, I know his name is awesome 😉😆
I’ve been married to my husband @drewcastelo for nearly 9 years (11 years together) 😳 and we’ve made so many amazing memories throughout that time. We spent a summer backpacking through Europe (awesome), moved 7 times in 7 years (not always awesome), and within the last 2, we’ve finally put down roots and purchased our very first *little* home 🏡
I’m a full-time mom ✨best/hardest job in the world✨ with a vision to homeschool my son (and any future 👶🏼) and to create a warm, peaceful, simple environment for my family to enjoy. Aside from that, I obviously love to travel and experience new places, drinking wine is my favorite sport 🤷🏻♀️ and I’m weirdly obsessed with cheese (I even eat it with my cereal - it’s delicious 😂). My family is my world and the beach is my happy place 🏝
Thanks so much for following along! 🙏🏼 I’ve truly loved being inspired by so many of you and I hope these little snapshots into our life will do the same ✌🏼💛
He was walking through the doors of church this past Sunday and someone said “everyday he looks more and more like his daddy.” 😍😍
Aside from the freckles (my contribution ☺️)... Copy + Paste, y’all. Copy + Paste.
“In 20 years when somebody says to your kids, ‘oh you were homeschooled, what was that like?’ What do you want their response to be? Measure your daily tasks and activities to match what you want them to say.” -Sarah Mackenzie
I wish I could say the last couple days of school for us represent that quote well. The truth is, they have looked a lot more like a very impatient mama and frustrated kids.
More truth: I am sometimes jealous of my friends who drop their kids off at school for someone else to figure out how to teach them for a few hours.
On difficult days/weeks/seasons it’s easy to lose sight of why you are choosing a certain path. The most important question to ask is, “Is this what God is calling me to do?” And if the answer is still yes, the next question is, “What does He want me to learn in this season?”
When you are in the will of God, there will be growth opportunities, and they will be difficult. Giving up in the difficult moments defeats the purpose of ever having shown up in the will of God in the first place.
✨☕️👌Second French Press pot of coffee being consumed, trying to stay warm and cozy... It’s so gray and dreary outside!
I’ve got the itch to purge + declutter, but alas, my to-do list is long. Schooling, work, feeding and snuggling little humans, mama time, laundry, etc. Maybe this weekend I can recruit some of my kiddos😉 and we’ll make some progress🤞
What about you?? Any big plans to do a big purge?

When we decided to move our young family into the woods we looked at the house we have been living in for 22 years now, and my husband said “Mag I don’t think that’s what we’re looking for.” I replied it’s EXACTLY what we are looking for. The house we moved from was prettier, newer, easier and located on a perfect cul-de-sac. But this house opened a whole new way to live out our dreams...with a lot of work. Our homes should support us to create the lives we dream of for ourselves and our children. #wetravelasatribe#homeschool#homeschoollife#homeschoolmama#vision#livewithintention
Hey friends, meet Hannah!!! She joined us last January and this is what she had to say about her TRANSFORMATION:

If I can do it anyone can do it!!❤️❤️❤️💪🏼💪🏼.”

Happy Thursday! Trying to stay motivated to finish the week strong. 💪🏼
In the middle of my writing a caption about how I am trying to be more purposeful with my time and words Wyatt took off his (apparently) poopy diaper, stepped in it then ran away from me. Why am I telling you this? So that if you are feeling alone in your mom bubble, I too am over here wiping butts (and now scrubbing 💩 out of the carpet 😂😂😂)
