While I do have frequent cheat days 🤓, I normally try to eat healthy. Especially now that I'm freelancing full-time, it's crucial that I don't end up bingeing on junk food on Netflix. Which is pretty much what I did all of last week. 😁 But hey, learning curve, y'all! So this picture marks my last cheat breakfast before I start consciously putting healthier foods into my body on a regular basis. I enjoy cooking, so with a little extra effort, it shouldn'tbe too hard! 😊
Also, you know your reading is in bad shape when you have only three books in your apartment and you've finished none of them. 🤣 In my defence, though, I've been reading some great ebooks. And as I talked about earlier, I prefer to not read too much while writing my own book, so as to avoid too many influences creeping in. 🤗
Today we celebrate people in WA with a passion for reading, stories and writing. @bookishsmaug is the creation of Cath.. a JR Tolkien and book lover from Perth. “We all like to know what everyone else is reading, recommending and writing” says Cath. “ #bookstagram is a platform where I can talk about books with people all over the world!” Each week the SLWA will feature WA book bloggers and writers you should know about. Follow us to find out who.
I’ve had Someday, Someday, Maybe on my shelf for a long time now and don’t know what’s taking me so long to read it. I loved Talking As Fast As I Can and In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It, so I hope I like this one too! I just adore Lauren Graham and everything she does! ☕️☕️☕️
How do you feel about books written by celebrities?

Vuestro infierno conozco por haberos seguido
mis hermanas, os amo y a la vez compadezco,
porque es vuestro el dolor y la sed insaciable,
y las urnas de amor que ocultáis en la entraña.
Lucid By Kristy Fairlamb Lakewater Press Pub Date; April 23, 2019 ********five star book ***five star book***** five stars Lucy lives a lonely existence on the precipice between life and death. She possesses the horrifying ability to resurrect real-life tragic events in her nightmares, reliving over and over, as if she were there, the last few moments before the victim takes their final breath. Car accidents, drownings, plane crashes – Lucy has seen it all*******Why I voted this author for Best Debut YA author of 2019: " If you admitted you loved deeply, a certain vulnerbility existed in the proclamation of love; It said I need you, don't ever leave me ,you are my world. I'd once thought love weakened a person, but it didn't. It was the loss of love that brought people to their knees." Lucy Piper Lucy is possibly the most unique character created for the young adult genre since Blue Sargent in Maggie Steifvater's The Raven Boy series. We all have a purpose in life, Lucy Piper's purpose is through the power of her dreams she can undo tragedy. Fans of the Netflix Sense8 series will adore the interaction Lucy is able to have within her dreams with her boyfriend Tyler., can you imagine a first kiss so real you wake feeling the tingles? How about Tyler was dreaming the same dream, and felt the same way? There are points in the story I was afraid Lucy would break because she experiences fire, plane crashes, and car crashes. She experiences getting lost in the woods and freezing. Carl Jung once wrote that he saw his wife in dreams long before they met, and scientists never have harnessed the brain power that is working within a dream, what if we could unlock our true potential?' #smashthatlinkinbio#goodreadsreview
Happy #socksunday ! Today for #romanceopoly I’ve got the book for #kickasslane The brief was to read an urban fantasy with a kickass heroine on the cover. I decided to read the second book in the Allie Beckstrom series, since she definitely qualifies. Allie works as a magical ‘hound,’ like a private investigator, tracing magical criminals. She starts the book with some major holes in her memory, due to her magic use so she doesn’t remember most of the events of book one, including her relationship with Zayvion. In this book she gets a gig hounding for the cops in a missing persons case, but she encounters an array of obstacles, including the ghost of her father. Secrets are revealed about magic and Allie’s family, and she finds herself adopted by a community of hounds. We see disappointingly little of Zay, but there is a lot of patient wooing.Things look good to see more of him in the next book, as we continue to learn more about the underground magical community.

How young is too young to start reading this series? My sweet librarian said a good judge is having your kid be the age of the protagonist. Lucy was 8 in the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Carsen is 5, almost 6, and has listened to the audiobook. We watched the movie together and I know he comprehended the audio because he kept pointing out the differences. So I’m assuming he could handle the book. I’d love your input book community and thanks for letting me verbally process. It’s really hard to wait for your kid to be old enough to read some of your favorites 😬🥴 - Lindsay 💕 #blakeandbeckner
❝Hands down-best book by Britney King. Yet. She has delivered a difficult writing style so perfectly and effortlessly, that you just want to worship the book for the writing. The author has managed to make murder/assassination/accidental- gunshot- to-the-head- look easy. Necessary.❞
Mr. and Mrs. Smith meets Dexter. Jude and Kate are the perfect neighbors with the perfect cover... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ good neighbors
✔️ serial killers

I’m in between books right now, and trying to figure out the right thing to read. I’ve started a couple, but so far nothing is really pulling me in. 📚✨

QOTD: If you were to go to Wonderland, what location would you visit based on the situations below?
🌸 The Meadow of Living Flowers! While you wander the flowers, they talk very chattily with you and welcome you fondly.
🐇 The White Rabbit’s House. You go to pay him a visit, but it turns out he’s not home (he’s late as always!). There’s a note for you to go in and help yourself to anything.
♥️ The Red Queen’s Castle. You go for a game of croquet, and the Queen is not sure how she feels about you but she provides an elaborate party nonetheless... just don’t beat her or she’ll chop your head off!
It’s Sunday y’all, and I’m enjoying the gradual crawl into spring! Thus the inspiration behind this pin board I created 🤗❤️ it’s Alice and Wonderland inspired and has all the spring vibes! 🌸 hence why my Alice pins are on it! (Swipe for a closer look!) There might be another hoop or so in the making 🙈 would you like to see them?

Welcome to Torte - a friendly, small-town family bake shop where the treats are so good that, sometimes, it’s criminal…
After graduating from culinary school, Juliet Capshaw returns to her quaint hometown of Ashland, Oregon, to heal a broken heart and help her mom at the family bakery. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is bringing in lots of tourists looking for some crumpets to go with their heroic couplets. But when one of Torte’s customers turns up dead, there’s much ado about murder…
The victim is Nancy Hudson, the festival’s newest board member. A modern-day Lady Macbeth, Nancy has given more than a few actors and artists enough reasons to kill her…but still. The silver lining? Jules’s high school sweetheart, Thomas, is the investigator on the case. His flirtations are as delicious as ever, and Jules can’t help but want to have her cake and eat it too. But will she have her just desserts? Murder might be bad for business, but love is the sweetest treat of all… .
03.24.19 ✨ Happy Sunday! Exciting (& terrifying) announcement/question for you this evening!
BookstaBox box has inspired me to test myself & try new things that I’ve always wanted, but feared sharing with others. IF there’s enough interest, I’m considering adding ☕️mugs☕️ to the shop!
I love the minimalist look, & feel like it’s adaptable to ANY bookstagram style/feed 📚That being a HUGE part of why I wanted to start BookstaBox in the first place, I’m dabbling in some minimalistic designs that are strictly “bookish & beverage” themed. Again, sticking with the “works for anyone” vibe.
To start, mugs would be VERY limited & available as 11oz. ☕️ I have 4 designs drawn up, this being one of them! So...everything said:
IF single mugs designed by us were available in the shop, would you buy them? Do you want to see my other designs? 😅 I’m trying to get honest feedback from you beautiful people before I jump into this...so please be frank (but kind) & let me know your thoughts!
There's nothing more calming than a rainy, gloomy morning in. I have a todo list that can't be ignored and a due date that I have to meet but still all I want to do is light some candles, make a cup of coffee with Oat Milk and cuddle in bed. I spent nearly 20 minutes sitting by the windowsill doing deep breathing exercises while I listened to the rain drum against the window. I've been having a lot of anxiety attacks lately and those 20 minutes definitely eased the heavy weight that's sitting on my chest. How do you deal with stress and anxiety? I've been doing the same things for years now so I could use new tips.
Not being able to go on Instagram was so weird yesterday. I didn't realise how much of my day is spent on here talking to people, catching up on my favourite accounts, finding and adding new books to my TBR list. I hope it doesn't but if Instagram ever does crash again you can find me on my new Twitter at (HothanJama_) and Pinterest at (Hothanjama). I like to think our little community goes beyond Instagram. How did you deal with the crush yesterday?
Daylight Savings is really kicking me around at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I love that it doesn't get dark in the middle of the afternoon anymore but I would do just about anything to get that extra hour of sleep back. I don't know why but it's taking me a little longer than usual to adjust to the time change. Do you have DST where you live? If so, how are you adjusting to it?
To get out of this funk I took a long walk and visited this cute little flower shop in hopes of finding the perfect apartment plants. My ideal living space has always been one filled with plants and last December I decided this was going to be the year I achieved that goal. My plants seem to always die after several months in my care so to change this horrible pattern I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos on how to properly look after apartment plants. I can't wait to go to farmers market when it reopens and buy half a dozen gorgeous leafy potted friends. Do you have plants in your home? What are they and how do you look after them? I could use the tips.
