For anyone interested I just finished up an interview with @project.vanlife about how I can afford to stay on the road. Head to my stories for the swipe up link ✌🏼
Ps this has been my phone wallpaper for months and months... would anyone like me to toss up a few wallpapers on my stories for you to use?
A little dose of honesty for you guys... we literally drove 2 hours for a 1 hour photo shoot in this amazing location. We didn’t stay here (neither do the majority of people who have images from here), it’s booked out 12 months in advance and well out of my budget, but it does look pretty right?!
Whilst we are all guilty of glorifying our lives, please don’t read into my or anyone else’s online presence. For me I love creating adventure filled wanderlust imagery, that’s my passion, and it is also my job which allows me to travel and adventure as much as I do.
So I hope you’re happy with where you are in life, and I hope you’re not looking at IG with jealous eyes!

As the storms rolled through Yosemite I B-lined it to get amongst it. The lack of people, the moody vibe, the way the landscape looked and felt sooo different... way better than a bluebird day in the middle of summer!

Sometimes you find those spots you never want to leave... sorry @gritrentals you’re going to have to throw the snatch strap on me to get me away from this spot!

We’ve been jamming our days full of adventures down here in New Zealand. Currently averaging 4hrs sleep per day, but when the days are long and there are constant views like this it would almost be rude to sleep more than that right?!
Swipe for a bit of scale to blow your mind!

I’ve never really been one to miss home too much when I’m travelling, but I must admit I do miss my home on wheels that’s patiently awaiting my return in Canada. A few more adventures down this end of the world and then I’ll be back - hold tight Alpine!

Been a little off grid the last few days, constantly having my mind blown by these kiwi landscapes. As you can see our beastie @gritrentals truck named Crump keeps getting dwarfed by these crazy mountains. If anyone has favourite spots down here we should definitely hit let me know 😊🙌🏼

The only difference between these two images is 5 minutes... I was waiting around for sunset hoping for conditions like the first image, but as you can see in the second image it was raining heavily and there didn’t seem like much chance of a show. I packed up my stuff, threw my bag in the van, keys in the ignition and took one last look up before driving away and boom, there was this amazing glow on either peak. Frantically I pulled everything back out and ran down to the river and was so blown away with the golden light and reflection in the river. 1 minute later and I would of missed the whole thing... I guess there’s something to be said about patience right...

These canyon walls are breathtaking and well worth the hike in. Unfortunately we were beyond hungry and painfully tired after running (literally) up to observation point, so if you zoom in you can see the half smile @coastalkells kindly conjured up to satisfy my obsession of finding a spot in the canyon that worked for photos 😂
I think the shot turned out pretty good, but I’ll forever be reminded of our lack of appreciation for the place we were in despite us doing our best to be present and admire the beauty around us. That’s definitely a goal of mine this year, being more present and appreciative even when the hangriness kicks in and the mind is doing its best to take you elsewhere. Does anyone else suffer from this, or am I the only one 😬😂

This is my Mum and I - sharing my most meaningful moment of 2018!
Travelling full time is awesome, I love it and I wouldn’t change it for the world, but no matter what you do in life you’re always going to be sacrificing something, and that something for me is time with friends and family. So when I have the opportunity to share moments like this it means the world to me.
Mum wanted to experience what it was like to travel with me, so this morning we woke up at 2:15am and hiked 2 and half hours up a pretty relentless mountain to reach the top for sunrise. It was a slog, and after the 150kms of biking we were feeling it, but mum crushed it and we made it just in time! So this is it, Mum and I on Roy’s Peak, proud as punch to have her as my mum and able to share moments like this with her. Here’s hoping 2019 will bring more special moments like this.

The second most meaningful moment for 2018 had to be my favourite morning back in the van. Opening the doors to Monument Valley for an epic sunrise, and sharing it with someone as stoked on the experience as I was was again a moment I’ll be cherishing for a long time. I’ve always loved travelling in the van because of the freedom it allows you to have, and whilst there are many hardships living this kind of lifestyle, those hardships emphasise the good moments tenfold making it all totally worth it. One of my biggest photography inspirations when I first picked up a camera, @chrisburkard once said, you have to suffer a little bit for the things that you love, and I believe living in a van is exactly that. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but when the rain clears and that rainbow pops it sure does provide some amazingly beautiful moments! Here’s hoping 2019 provides many more memories like this with good friends by my side ✌🏼
