We were classmates in year one,
Back then I didn't know you had the worst puns.
Our friendship grew because of teaching,
The relationship started to have meaning.
Year two came and we were stuck together again,
Thinking about it, that experience left us with lots of complaints.
We got desperate in year three,
Over our dead bodies, we did not want to intern in schools.
A lot of things happened,
The future was hard to imagine.
Our lecturers doubted our choices,
Heck yeah, #buysinglit kind of made us famous?
You are the reason why I'm here today,
There are still so many things I've yet to convey.
Thank you for sticking,
You are a friend worth keeping ❤️

I would say JW knew me the longest,
Among us, she's the tallest.
In our cca, she was in charge of the money.
Sadly, she has no one to call her honey.
She doesn't show her affection often,
But we know her heart is full of blossoms (for us).
Her catchphrase is 'guys we need to get our sh*t together',
However, it didn't work one semester.
We ended up sleeping in and skipping the class,
Who knew it'll haunt us a semester later.
Thank you, JW,
I wouldn't have survived if not for you.
Please continue to be in my life,
Even after we've become housewives (I wanted to make it rhyme)

Darkling vs Mal.
Who would you pick?
I read #shadowandbone for the first time ever and I'm glad to say that it was interesting enough for me to continue with the rest of the trilogy! Combining fantasy with a dew Russian elements proved to be unique and different from other books I've read. It felt incredibly hard trying to put it down. .
[While reading this, I was also in the midst of studying for a test. I rewarded myself by reading a chapter after studying and it kind of worked? It's a different way of treating myself to a short break and I loved it. A lot.]
I don't know if it's just me but I seem to favour the #darkling a bit more? He's this super tall, hot guy who emits darkness. Put Alina together with him, BAM! POWER COUPLE!
I feel meh about Mal. Yeah, he's Alina bff. Yeah, they kind of have something going on. Yeah, it seems cute. But that's it. Not a huge fan (yet). .
I gave this a four star. The plot hooked me to read on and the characters were just as amazing. The magic system is gruelling. It's either a fight or flight situation. I can see where the hype is about. This also means that I'll be reading #siegeandstorm next. AHHHHH!!!
The determination to possess the Golden Fleece in Greek mythology casts Cadmus and Tog into a journey across the Roman Empire. They met a lot of obstacles along the way. Cadmus also discovers truths about his past. His yellow-amber eyes may prove to be more than just a rare colour.
'In the Shadow of Heroes' progressed somewhat much more leisurely than what I thought initially. I expected it to go BOOM KA POW SHING SHING (you know with a lot of action and perhaps twists here and there). The action-packed quest I wanted was not fulfilled. It was more of a creeping and dawdling plot. About 80% of the action was done verbally. I guess it is understandable because it could be a middle-grade novel and the author probably wanted to tone down the gory, violent bits.
I was not a fan of the plot but I'm definitely on #teamtog . She is a slave girl who is apparently not what she claims to be. Most of the time, she's emotionless and has this expression -.-|| However, when she does say something it burns and hits you right at the core (kind of reminds me of someone I know XD). I would be interested in a spin-off with Tog as the main character. There's something mysterious about her that draws you in. We do not see a lot of Tog's thoughts so I thought it would be interesting to read about her side of the story.
What would be even better, if there were illustrations to accompany the text. I do not know much about Roman and Greek mythology so it would be nice to have something to base on. And, a map. I need a map. I got lost so many times. I felt that I was travelling in circles. Gosh.
Despite all that, this book has great character interactions. You can see how the author developed their relationships and it is super heartwarming to read about Tullus and Cadmus. They are not your usual master and slave duo. Rather, they feel more like a family!
This was only a 3.5 ⭐️ but I can see some people enjoying it. Aspects of the quest may intrigue some readers. Thank you #pansing@definitelybooks for the arc! #intheshadows will be out in all good bookstores on 2 May 2019! Do keep a look out! I will remind you XP

Cheers to the looooooong weekend! I doodled on my youngest sister's planner and it turned out like this! This doodling thingy somehow inspired me to doodle other stuff. Since graduation season is coming, I thought it would be perfect to share and thank the people who made those three years bearable. Let's see if I can keep this up HEHHEHE

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Less than 4 weeks left,
However, stats still leaves me unimpressed.
Thank you for the watermelon fan, 😺! I've been using it a lot and it's definitely a life saver. Other than that, I'm reading #shadowandbone and the first book from the #kidnormal series. I'm more than halfway through #shadowandbone . LOVING it so far! By the way, am I supposed to like the Darkling or Mal more? So confused. Send help pls.

“I write historical novels because nobody has invented a Time Machine. And I write for kids because eleven is my inner age.”
“The Time Travel Diaries” was thrilling and enchanting! It’s amazing how the author combined futuristic elements and historical knowledge all in one! I was amused throughout the book. Alex, the main character was extremely entertaining. He appeared like a snob at first but his character grew on me! .
I hope this is not the end of the adventures of Alex through time travelling! Caroline Lawrence, the author, created world where I see myself getting back into again in future! 4⭐️!
Thank you #pansing@defintielybooks for the arc! This book is available at all good bookstores! Time travelling is rarely seen in books and this is something you should definitely not miss!
Reading 'The Girl King' left me with a heavy heart. It took me about three-quarters into the book to realise I do not care whatsoever about the characters and what happens to them. .
Honestly, the premise of the whole book is interesting. It reminds me of historical dramas with deceitful imperials fighting for power. I love these things and it's great if all of the things I love get meshed into a book! However, it felt that all of the characters were one-dimensional. I was not able to relate to them at all. Lu's character did intrigue me. Her ambitiousness to take over the throne was what drove me to continue. Her sister, Min in comparison appeared like a miserable and weak character who was fortunate to be in the palace because she was born of royal blood. Nokhai's (funny story auto-correct wanted to change this to 'Nokia') purpose was interesting too. But, it kind of dwindled down as the book progressed.
At times, it felt torturously slow and that not much is going on. I do understand that fantasy takes time to get the world-building started. Sadly, it took a bit too long for me. .
All that aside, this book does have intense fighting scenes which were written extremely well. Nokhai has a lot of potential for character development. I'm guessing there'll be surprising things we'll find about him in the next book. .
If you like betrayal in LARGE doses, this book could be the one for you! The complex world building and magic system is admirable too! Unfortunately, this is a 3 star for me.
Thank you #pansing@definitelybooks for the review copy in exchange for an honest review! You should get this edition! Plus, it’s available at all good bookstores too!

The edges are so pretty,
You need to get your hands on any Kid Normal book in a jiffy!!
Thank you #pansing@definitelybooks for sending the series my wayy! GAHHH, the sprayed edges are pleasing to the eye. It also came with a character folder that's of extremely good quality. It's not floppy like the kind I usually use which makes me happy XD

My March reading wrap-up came early :) March was also the month where I cried while reading on the bus to school 😂 Some notable reads are 'Kuala Lumpur Undercover 2' and 'If Cats Disappeared From The World’. You should check those two out! They’re so inspiring and insightful!
Also, I started watching a new drama! TVN's 'Confession' is a crime investigation series about people trying to uncover the truths hidden behind the law of double jeopardy. I hate the criminal the main character is defending so much. Urgh. But, it's going good so far. You should watch it too!
