I successfully made Vegan steak! Before anyone starts asking why a Vegan would want to make something that tastes like meat (I get that a lot), there are a few reasons. 1. They love meat but decide to be healthier and/ or do right by animals and the environment. 2. They don’t even like meat but want meals similar. I am #2, I never liked steak but I didn’t like it bc of the fat and the iron taste. This doesn’t have that iron taste or fatty parts to it at all, but I get the filling and savory taste! I also hated bacon for similar reasons so now I’m on a quest for a great vegan bacon (the store bought ones have an odd taste too similar to real bacon). This was such a great recipe! 😍😍🙏🏼
Progression of the Raw Vegan Diet! 🙌🏼 So the top is the day before I started, middle is around Wednesday, and the bottom was this morning! I lost a total of 6 pounds in 7 days! I will be gaining most if not a little more back in muscle as I start doing more weight training in the gym. I feel great honestly, especially about my body. I did get pretty sick last night but I did some research and found out why, hopefully this can help anyone wanting to try this out: So when you eat raw you are detoxing your body. We have all heard how processed sugar is as addicting (or more addicting) than cocaine, but the other processes foods we consume have similar effects. You basically go on withdrawals and a detox journey. Through out the week I was getting nauseated and just pinned it on being hungry (I tend to have pretty bad nausea when I’m hungry normally, it’s odd). Come to find out, I was more achy and nauseated because I was detoxing. As much as it sucked and hurt, my body was healing. Last night was the worst, I actually got sick and couldn’t eat, I was super fatigued and had a huge headache like I never had before. My body felt so wrong, I almost asked my bf to take me to the hospital but I always feel like that’s a bit dramatic and I have only felt that need about 2 times before this. Some tips if you plan on eating raw for the long run: introduce it slowly, still eat cooked starches and maybe some rice. Tips for short term (like what I did): either stick it out for the week or keep some starches and rice, plan more meals or snacks, stay away from super fatty oils and excess nuts and avocados (I had my fair share of avocados this week 🤭). I don’t want to make anyone not want to do this, people have different experiences. I also don’t want someone to do this and feel the same way and get frightened! Thank you for following this diet with me! I will do it again sometime with more research about how to be more healthy about it!

Day 7 of my Raw Vegan Diet: 🌞Breakfast: pineapple mango smoothie with chia seed pudding and spinach! 🌤Lunch: Raw Pad Thai from the farmers market. 🌙Dinner: not pictured since I didn’t make what I wanted. Before dinner I started feeling pretty sick. I’m not sure if I actually am sick or if being out in the heat most of the day and not eating enough made me sick to my stomach. Last day of the diet and I did feel great up until the evening 😥 😷 Overall, the Diet was fun and I’ll defiantly be making these meals again!

Day 6 of my Raw Vegan Diet: 🌞 Breakfast: Pineapple, mango, chia seed pudding and spinach smoothie! 🌤Lunch: Kale salad with lettuce, avocado, carrot, onion, cucumber, apple and the last of my “honey mustard” dressing. 🌙Dinner: Avocado Tomato Caprese Salad (AGAIN!). This is one of my favorites! My bf got some too since I made double tonight and he loves it! I also snacked on some cocoa brownie bites today too! I’m feeling good with only one more day to go! I’m feeling a lot more full now too! 🙌🏼

Day 5 of my Raw Vegan Diet: 🌞Breakfast: Banana, peanut butter, chia seed pudding and spinach smoothie! 🌤Lunch: Kale, lettuce, carrot, onion, cilantro and apple salad with my “honey mustard” dressing (mostly same as yesterday). 🌙Dinner: More Zucchini pasta! This time with a raw pesto sauce (cashews, green onion bulbs, garlic, kale, spinach, lemon juice). This was so refreshing and yummyyyy 🤤🤤. I also had the other half of my avocado as a snack and made raw brownie bites! I ran out of vanilla and will definitely get vanilla (or when I’m not eating raw just the extract) and add agave because they are a little bland but otherwise pretty good and rich! Today I got more hungry after dinner than normal but today was pretty good. I didn’t crave as much today either, yay! 🙌🏼 TWO DAYS LEFT!

Day 4 of my Raw Vegan Diet: 🌞Breakfast: Banana Strawberry smoothie with spinach and chia seed pudding! 🌤Lunch: Kale and Lettuce salad with carrot, onion, cilantro, lime juice and my homemade “honey mustard” dressing (which was bomb 🤤 if I do say so myself!) 🌙Dinner: Zucchini pasta with basal, parsley, oregano, lemon juice, and garlic! For dessert... you guessed it, chocolate pudding! And I had half an avocado between lunch and dinner. I defiantly felt more full all day today, only 3 more days left and I have to admit... I miss bread and chips 🙈 but I do feel great! 👌🏼

Day 3 of my Raw Vegan Diet: 🌞 Breakfast: Repeat of Monday because, well, yum! Chia seed pudding pair best with strawberries and the bananas and blueberries make it more filling and yummy! 🌤 Lunch: Fat Burning smoothie with ginger, spinach, banana, pineapple, coconut milk, and it called for chia seeds but I put in a scoop of my chia seed pudding to make it creamier and more filling! 🌙Dinner: Strawberry Mango Avocado Tacos! Soooo freaking good! They were really filling and refreshing with a TON of flavor! So easy too, with hardly any clean up! I also had an avocado with lime juice for a snack, one of my favorites! I have been eating almonds as a snack too every day but this snack needed to be more filling since I was donating plasma! Today I was really hungry before dinner since I had just donated plasma and I didn’t really plan for that aside from my avocado. If you donate and try this diet make sure you have a lot more food planned since you can’t just down a bowl of pasta that sticks for hours to keep you full (not good full but works when you donate!) Loving this diet and I feel better about my body already!
