We didn’t get here by accident. If you’ve been following our journey, you know one of the main ways my wife and I have paid off so much debt is by H U S T L I N G !!! Side hustles that is!! In 2018, we held 5 jobs between the both of us! I worked 6 days a week many months and sacrificed sleeping in on Saturdays. I literally worked every major holiday besides Christmas last year. That included New Years Day 2018, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving! 🙈 When I didn’t feel like going to my side job, I went anyways. When it could have been easy to stay in bed on a Saturday, I got up anyways.
💸I remember one Friday in particular when I was leaving my full-time job at 3:30pm on a hot summer day and having to pass by my house to get to my side hustle. I remember feeling my stomach boiling inside as I mustered up the courage to not call off. There were plenty of days like this. When I could have justified many times not to work what was essentially an optional job, I thought of the debt free days ahead where working this much would be a distant memory. There was so much discipline required. So many sacrifices made. But a constant reminder of our DREAM aka our WHY always seemed to put things in perspective. .
💸Because side hustles have played a MAJOR role in our debt payoff goals, I’ve included a long list of side hustles you can pursue in my upcoming book on how to get out of debt! The book will detail ALL of the strategies we’ve used so you can be successful on your journey too! DM me for more info!
If you haven’t been following, my husband suddenly and unexpectedly lost his job a week ago. We have stopped all baby step 2 and are on hoard cash mode while my husband is applying to new jobs (but he did secure state funded unemployment which will be a huge help). This situation has made me question our EF, which we were already going to increase to $5k in 2019. When we have gotten over this hurdle of reinstating income, we will be immediately increasing our EF to cover the bare bones of 1 month of expenses: $3280.

12 MONTHS & I’M DEBT FREE! 🎉
At 24 I never thought this was possible! Saturday was such a beautiful and unexpected day! I was able to pay off my student loans & take engagement photos! Going into our marriage and I’m completely debt free was so important to us! Knowing that I am changing our family tree and being free from debt is the best feeling. No more monthly payments for this girl! 👍🏻So blessed! THANK YOU TO @daveramsey & @rachelcruze YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! ♥️
And with that (well, in 24 hours once it’s processed), the Southwest credit card has a $0 balance! Another debt, GONE! And with this one out of the picture, my remaining credit cards all have 0% interest until August of this year-May of next year (they vary). Hooray! Goodbye pesky credit card, goodbye interest!!!!

Fed Says Student Debt Is Hurting U.S. Housing Market : so you’re late because you can’t afford them, they mark your credit negative and then you can’t get an apartment nonetheless a mortgage! But we are the problem? No. We followed instructions. We went to school to better our country and on the way we have student loans the size of mortgages! People who barely went to school asking us to have degrees to get jobs they haven’t retired from! We will prevail!
Stop making your life More Complicated than it needs to be.
Take Action. Your Credit determines way too much to be taken lightly. Address what's wrong and watch everything fall into place..

Here’s what I did: 1.) Logged into our health insurance online portal. 2.) Printed all Explanations of Benefits for Orion since his birth on 11/20/2018. 3.) Organized then chronologically and grouped by each major inpatient hospitalization, or the category “Labs,” or “pediatrician.” 4.) If the EOB shows we [might] owe a balance, I folded the bottom corner over. This made it easy to see which ones are the ones I still have to worry about. 5.) I collected all my copay/payment receipts and put them with the EOBs they belong to, then unfolded the corner, because I no longer owe on that EOB. 6.) Each day I will login to myCigna and check for new EOBs, print them, and add them to the binder, as not all expenses have been billed yet. I am proud to say that from all the EOBs that are in the system so far, I have paid all but two, and those two are only unpaid because the insurance company is working on it and I may not have to pay those... Though organizing this binder was a big task, it has done wonders for my sanity and taken away the sense of impending doom, because everything is up to date so far! Scroll through to see my corner-folding system and some highlights from the bills that have been sent to our insurance company... the first one scares the hell out of me, but the insurance company reassures me not to worry about it, because once they get further clarification on the charges, they will likely pay the whole thing. The second one makes me laugh a little...
I know you’ve been hoping and praying for a way to make things easier... a way that you could stay home with your baby instead of having to go back to work... a way to pay for your college bills without stressing about a job... a way to actually be able to build up a savings account... I firmly believe that nothing happens by coincidence and that things cross our paths for a reason!! Right now I have an opportunity where you can get started with me as a distributor for only $49! If you are ready to take action and finally take that step towards a better future for yourself and your family, please send me a message and let’s chat! This business completely changed my life, and I know it can for you too, but you’ll never know if you never try. 💜 #makeachange#payoffdebt#becomeasahm#makemoney#studentloans#creditcarddebt#extraincome

Throwing back to 2015 when one of my student loans was paid off. Stick to the journey, there is light at the end of the journey.
To continue our discussion from yesterday, take a look at how the number of allowances you claim on a W-4 can determine whether you OWE taxes or get a refund!.
Make sure you adjust your allowances accordingly as it affects your net pay. Click on the link in the bio to see criteria you need to qualify for allowances!
The first thing most think of when they hear budget is being restricted, but that’s not true. Budgets give you the permission to spend your money! There’s a new post on the blog that outlines how you can live your best life on a budget, link in bio! How do you live your best life on a budget?
DOUBLE TAP IF YOU COUNT BLESSINGS 🙏
When I wake up everyday I tell myself all the opportunities I have:
Driving a car 🚗
Walking Tuney 🐶
Living Debt Free 🙌
Being engaged 😍
I don’t have to walk Tuney, I get to walk Tuney...some people wish they had a dog...some people can’t walk
Instead of counting my problems, I focus on all the blessings and opportunities I have 🙌
When I was in debt I would tell myself “I have the opportunity to go to work today to make money to payoff my debt and create the life I want to live!”
Imagine saying that to yourself every morning 💪🙌
Always count your blessings, because someone out there is praying for what you have 💯
