Over on Eureka Street, I've pulled out my soapbox to share my opinion about changing Australia's system of organ donation.

My favourite character in If I Tell You by @aliciatuckermanwriter was Phoenix. Perhaps because Phoenix spoke my language. The differing view of the world that comes from living with an expiry date hovering over your shoulder. On the surface, Phoenix seems a superficial character. A girl who is brazen about her sexuality and determined to have a good time. So much so, that throughout several conversations, Phoenix gives Alex some not-so-delicate nudges to come out. Viewed in isolation it could seem as if Phoenix was trying to shame Alex, but Phoenix is a far more complicated character – She’s also a teenager living with a time bomb.
You can read my full review on my website (link in my bio) in the meantime I’ll leave you with my favourite quote. “She should have told you, but I understand why she didn’t. Why no one did. It would have changed everything, made it something else, something tragic and heartbreaking when it wasn’t any of those things – not until now. And knowing the truth, it would’ve been everywhere – in every gesture, every thought, every moment. You wouldn’t have known what was real and what was because she was dying. What you’ve shared is real, and nothing can take that from you – not even the truth.”

Chilli found Every Family is Different perfectly captures the different structures that make up a family.

I’ve been told my ‘To Be Read’ pile is getting out of control. 📚📚
On the other hand, I believe I could quite comfortably fit a third stack on there. 📚📚📚 Disclaimer: the stack did fall over and dent my toe however I was attempting to pull something out of the middle so it’s not like it caused a bookalaunch all on its own 🙄
Chilli has reason to be concerned that she might follow the dentist, hairdresser, chef and zookeeper into the lion.
Rotto, on the other paw, believes this is a fabulous book to read, especially while dressed as a lion. 🐾🐾 Four paws book review from Rotto for In The Lion by @jamesfoleybooks

Chilli’s been somewhat concerned that Rotto’s ears don’t stick up just like hers.
