Apparently, when I really love a book, I feel the need to have and keep multiple copies of it 😳😆 Do you tend to keep books you’ve already read or do you pass them along? If I think I’ll reread a book and/or it was a favorite, it’s definitely staying on my shelf. Otherwise, I’ll pass it along to a friend or donate. How do you decide what stays and what goes?
• [Books I bought myself include hardcovers of ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ and ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’ both by Taylor Jenkins Reid, hardcover of ‘Fangirl’ by Rainbow Rowell, and US edition of ‘The Kiss Quotient‘ by Helen Hoang. The others I either won, was given by a publicity company, or gifted by friend/family or the author herself.]

    I want all the different covers of my favorite books also🤪 Hmm.. If I’ve read the book and did not like it, chances are I’ll give it away, if I need the shelf space for something better😇😂

  • @jennsuz 16 March, 2019

    @booksfortheliving 🙋‍♀️ I'm the same way. I am currently waiting for the UK edition of Daisy Jones and the Six to get to my house 😊

  • @suzysbookshelf 16 March, 2019

    I pass them along or donate them to my library’s used book sale. I’m never going to reread a book I’ve already read as I have too many I haven’t read. If I absolutely loved it, I’ll keep it, but that’s very rare.

    What version is TKQ with the pink spine? I just have the yellow!

  • @imworthyandenough 16 March, 2019

    I admit I am guilty of this! 😆

  • @mels_library__ 16 March, 2019

    I don’t keep more than one copy of a book. But I keep every book I read for a collection in my reading room!

  • @thereadingblonde 16 March, 2019

    I keep books I’ve already read but I usually do not keep multiple copies unless I have it in both my native language as well as English!

  • @decemberlarks 16 March, 2019

    Same as you. I keep favorites, but I have no problem passing along ones I won't read again.

  • @bicoastalbookclub 16 March, 2019

  • @booksfortheliving 16 March, 2019

    @jennsuz oh my gosh isn’t it gorgeous? I’ve been soooo tempted to buy that edition but don’t really think I can justify spending the money when I already have two copies 😆

  • @booksfortheliving 16 March, 2019

    @suzy4pr oh interesting! I don’t have a lot of time to reread either but I’ve been doing some rereading this year and have loved being able to enjoy a beloved book again 💕

  • @booksfortheliving 16 March, 2019

    @mamajustwantstoread it’s the galley. The final versions have yellow spines!

  • @jennsuz 16 March, 2019

    @booksfortheliving 😆

  • @booksrachelreads 16 March, 2019

    I definitely keep multiples of books I’ve loved on my shelves! Mainly for my own potential rereads but also I think people are so much more likely to listen to my recommendations if I have an actual physical book to let them borrow. So I also use multiple copies as a way to manipulate everyone I love into reading my favorite books 🙃

  • @saraecrawford 17 March, 2019

    I have bought so many copies of The Perks of Being a Wallflower it's not even funny

  • @booksfortheliving 17 March, 2019

    @booksrachelreads hahaha I love that!

  • @carrie_motherofcats 17 March, 2019

    Reread for sure

  • @singprettyreadbooks 30 March, 2019

    Pretty spines! I’m very conservative with my shelf space now. Unless I really Love it, I’ll usually donate books I no longer want to keep.
