It’s Friday Night In AND the last day of school before letting out for Spring Break week! TGIF has never been so accurate.
.
The downside about the upcoming weekend is that I’ll be spending most of it grading assignments that were turned in weeks and/or months late (le sigh), and Saturday morning will be spent knocking out a grad school assignments that I had zero time to get to during the week. My sanity is hanging on by a thread, but I’ll make it.
.
The fun part about next week is that I have more time to do things I want to do, like spend time with family and friends, read, relax, sleep ... be a normal human for a week instead of a crazy teacher.
.
So, The Name of the Wind will be getting my full attention tonight for Friday Night In (because this time is basically sacred), and it’ll get picked up again as soon as I finish all my grading. (This is an example of me making a deal with myself. Knocking out grades = enjoying books worry free for the whole rest of the break.)
.
Pulse Check: Teachers, how are you holding up? What gives you encouragement to push through the rough seasons of school? Non-teachers, what little things do you do to bring yourself a sliver of peace and contentment during chaotic times at work or at home?
