Our friends at @madisonmontessorischool are enjoying Phonetic Planet’s nature-themed early readers. Here in Austria we often see kestrels fly above city rooftops, which inspired us to create a simple phonics-based text set in Vienna. The illustrations are elegant and realistic, and invite the reader to explore a place on earth that may be previously unknown. Come and discover the life of a kestrel, or learn more about the daily adventures of a robin in the Irish countryside! Ours is a diverse planet, filled with natural treasures that will appeal to every child’s innate sense of wonder. 🌍

That Friday feeling is tempting us to take a trip out of Vienna’s city center and head for the woods. Where do you like to explore?
Our family is dedicated to the mission of celebrating the beauty of nature with young children.
Today is World Water Day. How will you be acknowledging this in your home or school?

Patterns are noticeable everywhere in nature, as I was reminded during a visit to the @schmetterlinghaus_wien this morning. Do you know that the ability to recognize patterns in language is also an important skill to develop during the process of learning to read?

When you give a child access to literacy skills, you offer that child a chance to explore a world of options.

The energy of a child possesses a warmth as powerful as the sun’s bright rays. A child beckons us to live in the moment, to see beauty in the simplest of things and to celebrate life. What will you do today that will enable a child to shine?

On March 17 people around the world celebrate their Irish heritage in a variety of ways. If you have heard stories of Ireland’s unique magic, you may be curious enough to make a visit there someday. We guarantee that you will love the treasures you’ll discover there! In the meantime, we invite you to share a copy of our book about an Irish robin with someone you know who is just setting out on the path towards reading. Beautifully illustrated, this hardcover reader is heirloom quality, and will bring Ireland’s natural beauty right into your home or school. See our website for details, and have a happy Saint Patrick’s Day, wherever you are celebrating! If you are of Irish heritage, we’d love you to send us a ☘️ this weekend!

The sky is the limit for a child who has access to education, which is why a percentage of our profits is donated to literacy-based programs around the world. Shouldn’t every child be given the chance to discover the joy of reading?

Children will transform this world some day.
We believe in their power to do so, if given the skills they rightfully deserve. Please support @savethechildren in their efforts to gather #SevenWordsForSyria as a collective message for world leaders and for the vulnerable children of a country at war.
