I’m drawing together a number of ideas for this years making which have been slowly percolating over Christmas, and it’s been wonderful to have my nose in plenty of inspiring material. Since the children arrived I haven’t really sat with a book at all and I’m returning to indulge that love more (and enjoying the almost nostalgic feels of non digital content).
I’ve tended to work along with natures natural cycles printing with what I find on the day but I’m going to add a little more planning to get the most out of each season and working up designs to seek out. .
I’m allowing more time for thinking and planning as my production schedule is being slowed with childcare uncertainties which I don’t mind, I’m slowly learning to unwind my need to complete projects at break-neck speed and to remember that I chose this career as a way to enjoy a balance in my family life. .
It’s so easy to allow work plans and the feeling that I’m coming to my true calling relatively late to overshadow the pure enjoyment of life and my little family.
This universe is definitely speaking clearly with a call to Slow, slow down and take care of the things that matter, rush less and enjoy each little moment a bit more. I haven’t had a word to guide my year before but this feels like a good place to guide my efforts.
How are your plans for the year unfolding? I spent 15 years working as a project manager and it’s the first time I’ve really unleashed a planning process for both my work and our family’s direction so interested to hear what you’ve found useful in creating a vision & path for where you’d like to see yourself getting to! .
