STEPPING OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE IS SCARY AND FUN AND ALL THE FEELINGS TOGETHER 😭🤯😰🤪😫😃 So this Saturday I decided to take my first class ever at @amsterdamdancecentre and, taking advice from some people who’s opinion I really value, I decided to take a class to loosen me up: Urban Contemporary sounded like the perfect combination of two styles I really need to work on.
Unfortunately the lesson was cancelled because only 3 people were taking it. In Dutch there’s a beautiful saying: “Geluk bij een ongeluk” which translates to something like “a blessing in disguise” and that was definitely the case.
I ended up in @suelawilsterman’s Afro-Beat class which was EXACTLY what my soul needed 🔥
I still need to work on loosening up my upper body, and this video of me is faaaaar from perfect, but DAYUM, I had so much fun in that class I HAVE to share what we did!
Thanks so much for the class and I really hope I can take it more often!! #AfroBeat#itspaulmorris#BailarinVenezolano#ArtistaVenezolano#AmsterdamDanceCentre#ADC#DutchDancer#NederlandseDansers#RepicameLosTambores#SacandoElCaribeñoQueHayEnMí

New month, new challenges.
December, a time of closure, a time of dark days, a time of cold nights, but also a time of beginnings, a time of reflection, a time of warm homes and family.
If you’re still reading this, take a moment to think about your 2018. What did you enjoy of it? What do you want to change for 2019? Who are you taking with you and who do you think is better to let go of?
Take a moment and thank yourself for making it through these 11 months. You’re almost there. One more. And make sure you thank the people you love for being there for you, too.
December is a month like any other, an agreement of a measurement of time made by people we probably have nothing to do with, but at the same time it’s a month with no comparison. A month of mixed feelings, traditions, tension and release.
Take a moment for yourself and breathe. Breathe in the cold winter air and remember what it is that makes you warm on the inside. Hold on to that thought and use it as fuel to continue your journey.
Before you know it we’ll be jumping under the fireworks celebrating a new milestone in our agreement of measured time.
So take a moment, and be here, now.
