Running on the grass 🌱 Apply for a feature following the link in our bio and we will publish your photos in our account: @RunningFervor 🙌🏼 This kind of running can be a great addition to your training program. A softer surface improves balance and strength, and it can help prevent impact injuries.
Running on the grass requires more strength to run quickly. If you are training for an ultra-marathon, organize your grass training early in your schedule to build your stamina and strength. You will definitely see a difference when you come back on your usual trail tracks.📍Istanbul, Turkey 🌍 (📷: @nevallina) Follow @RunningFervor for more.

We were sore and tired from long work days and did NOT feel like going for a run. But we’ve been seeing all your running shots in the rain, snow and sleet, while LA is having beautiful warm weather. We realized we have no excuse, and got our butts out there for one of the prettiest sunsets we’ve seen all year. Thanks for the inspiration, everyone!📍Santa Monica, California 🌎 #RunningTerritory (📷: @livehardxlovehard) Follow @RunningTerritory for more.
. Boa noite atletas 💗
16 mile long run this morning! I had to switch my long run from tomorrow to today because I’ll be traveling pretty much all day tomorrow (I’m getting up at 3:30 just to get in 5 miles 😬). I went on a different route than I usually do for my long runs because they turned off the water fountains along that path for the winter. I actually really enjoyed where I went, so I might make that my go-to for long runs when I get back! My splits were super consistent right around 9:30 for the first 12 miles, then I sped up at the end and finished with a 7:25 mile. Because I did my long run a day earlier than usual, I’ve run 70 miles in the past 7 days, which is crazy! I went to the gym when I got back and did a core and lower body workout like I usually do after long runs, and I also did an upper body workout because I won’t be able to lift tomorrow. I’ll be spending the rest of the day doing lots of laundry, packing, and cleaning before I leave!

Ran in cold weather and a little rain, but I’m still smiling I swear!
Top 9 posts of 2018 just for fun. Foam rolling and strength training today but forgot to get a pic. The plan is to get up in the wee hours to run 18 miles on the #treadmill as it will be chilly and rainy here all weekend. This time I’m doing in all in one go since I didn’t make the planned split workout on Sunday. I’ll then aim for a solid 20 miles before Christmas to round off my training ahead of tapering.

Today I ran a marathon... If I’m gonna race a marathon I may aswell do them in training, right? 🤔😆🏃🏻♂️✅
I personally like to do a few marathon distance runs in preparation, just as I feel it’s good for me, but whether it’s needed I think depends on the individual. If you think you don’t need it then you probably don’t! Anyway I decided I would do my first one of my London preparation today. Wasn’t planned until I woke up. Just decided I’m in my 5th week of base training so it will be a good endurance building run now I’m getting stronger. Also I’m only running once a day this week due to a slight cold, but still want to hit the 100 miles total as I want to stay consistent, so needed a big long run to help with that. Just need 2 x 12 mile runs over the weekend and I’ll hit 101 miles (always like to do that 1 extra mile to give room for GPS error). So will be 5 100+ weeks in a row 👌 Then next week if I feel I’m over the cold, I’m going to put the doubles back in again and try to run my biggest week of the training so far (currently 121 miles from last week). But today was a good long run and I felt much stronger than I did on my first long run in week 1 so I’m getting there. Was incredibly boring though I won’t lie! As you can see by the route I was just retracing my steps the whole time, on a loop I’ve run thousands of times. Not exciting at all 😂 And was very cold and windy! Although I won’t complain about the cold because I prefer this over the heat anyday. No dehydration to worry about! 👌😆
MARATHON NUMBER THREE...
...and a race to remember!
This time last year I wrote my 2018 goals. I had forty goals, over half of which were running related and of which two were specific to marathons: I wanted to complete three marathons and to run sub 4 hours.
This year has been a staggering one when it comes to running for me, with the Valencia Marathon seeing me hit the three marathon mark and my third sub 4. ✅✅.
So why was the race memorable? It’s because I didn’t run it for me. I didn’t need to go to that painful place that stops me enjoying races (at the time). I got to help somebody else achieve their goals and this truly made it the best marathon I’ve run yet. @lilliesfitness absolutely smashed it with her 3:39 and I couldn’t be prouder of what she achieved - and how she dug in to achieve it.
So that’s a marathon wrap for 2018. I shan’t forget this year in a hurry - midlife crisis, no fucking way mate. This is just the beginning of new adventures, many of which are gonna involve running.
2019, let’s be ‘avin ya!
Here’s a little #FBF to that time we adopted an ambassador to the @representrunning Team while crossing the finish line at the #eastbay510k this past October. 😂 So, as we were running together, @daniellvecchione, and I hear these fast footsteps and say, “man @pavementrunner is hustlin’ hard!” Turns out its this cool cat running his own race. Ha! I’m looking forward to getting out there and racing again soon with the Rep Running Crew! ✌🏽
