8 year celebration of Limit Zero today. Thanks to those who treated us with cakes, and marshmallow dumbbells - the best kind of dumbbells. It’s been an absolute pleasure and privilege all the way!
We celebrated today with a special ‘birthday circuit’ which was a repeat of our first ever one back in April 2010, although this one had a few changes. This circuit seemed so hard back then but now we had 15 people go through it for 35:34 mins and together got through 2,923 burpees (1 burpee for each day we’ve been open) within the circuit plus 8 other exercises several times too. It’s pretty incredible to see that we’ve come so far in all aspects and mainly in the fact that we can keep on pushing and going further with our fitness, strength and overall health in general - the one thing I always envisioned when starting out and naming this cool, wee gym ‘Limit Zero’.

This picture was taken slightly before I rolled my ankle! Yesterday’s MRI confirmed: 2.5/3 lateral ligaments are ruptured; in addition a peroneal tendon is slightly damaged! Happy Spring!! Monday felt like a real Spring day on @abigailludeman and I’s long run- dry dirt, blue skies, sweat and sun burns. I sure have been thankful to have a running partner for all my long runs so far this year. On a different note, I just have to say: Any type of training is great, but seriously, aerobic focused training is such an amazing thing. You can run more often, longer, all the while feeling better, see gains quicker, and avoid plateaus. I’ve personally been seeing rapid gains as of this last week, and it’s great to see all the work paying off!! What goals are you working towards? Keep enjoying the weather and changing of seasons, being active outside, and keep on pressing on! ⭐️
It’s a picture that has been done to death, but I’ve worked my ass off for three years to get this packet in the mail. 13 marathons. 13 failed attempts. 13 times that I put everything into a race, and 13 times it wasn’t enough. 3am runs. Working out on my lunch break. Pouring everything I had to prepare for whatever the next race was. As it turns out, I was probably physically fit long before I actually ran the time I needed. Mentally? Not so much. Once I gave up the bullshit and started to actually believe I could do it, it happened. 14th try. Now I’m less than a month from running #boston and it still doesn’t feel real. In all those failed marathons, I never had that “a-ha” moment when I crossed the finish line, heart swelling with pride, feeling invincible. But holding these simple pamphlets in my hands reinforces something that I don’t tell myself that often-Be proud.

Aerobic base building. Set the treadmill to 4.0 and did it. Heart rate didn’t go above 150. Will continue this day after day week after week with fast workout somewhere in there. Got to improve my time.

The nice thing about 🏃 ing from Santa Monica to Vegas is that the MONEY you could win in the slot machines won't be blown on gas or car repairs! 💵
The final countdown is on until Dave and 5 other 💪 POWERHOUSES 💪 from the RunCalgary team will be setting off to break a record for the fastest relay team to cover a distance of 340 miles over some grueling terrain.

Captured this during Saturday’s 10K trail race which I ran, walked, and cursed in 1:32, 8 minutes slower than 2 years ago. Can’t really compare because this year’s course was different. No big creek to cross but it was muddy and hillier, 1100ft elevation vs 920. Almost finished last. Oh well, will just have to take more pictures next time 😜 .
This was an impromptu race. I decided to go for it the night before because I felt a strong need to clear my mind. Felt awesome to be spontaneous. #liveinthemoment
