Twists! One of my favourite type of postures to incorporate into a yoga practice. Twisting helps to support healthy digestion, maintain healthy spinal rotation, and to let go of tension in the back. They are also a beautiful posture for releasing stress and anxiety. What's not to love?

I've been so busy with this promotion at work I haven't been training as often. I'm trying to find a flow in my life right now where everything works with the spare time I have.

Are your inner thighs weaker then your outer thighs? Tight hip flexors? Maybe you’re looking to strengthen your inner thighs and adductor muscles with mobility training? Swipe to check out my adductor strength and hip mobility training.
We often forget that we spend the majority of our lives walking on flat surfaces, this causes a huge imbalance when it comes to firing up your inner thighs. These adductor drills are honestly some of my favourite to practice as it gives me a sense of symmetry and balance in my hips. As I strengthen my adductors it starts taking pressure off my abductor flexors which in most cases is always tighter. Are you one of those who lift their legs and your quads start screaming right away? This will also help as loosening the flexors and strengthening the inner thigh will give you a more balanced feeling while in boat or hollowbody. •
Attempt what you can and move to the next exercise if you struggle then come back to it later! Each exercise has their own progression. Make sure to check out more of my hip mobility and strengthening tutorials on my page!

The @homegrownyogawr#MondayMantra was the Nelson Mandela quote, “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.” .
I think about this idea and check myself on it regularly. In my teaching, my parenting, my relationships, my business and my yoga practice, I catch myself making choices from fear more than I would like to admit. And I know when I’m coming from fear because it feels inauthentic and safe and forced. When I don’t try something new in my teaching because I’m afraid it won’t go well and people will stop coming to my classes and the studio will close down - seriously I go down that fear slope! Or when I don’t let Freida wear her same favorite sweatshirt for the 20th day in a row (no exaggeration!) because I’m afraid the other moms will judge me. Choosing from fear holds me back from my greatness and prevents others from living their greatness (dirty clothes and all). .
But here’s what the flip side of it looks like!!! Here’s what it looks like when I’m living and practicing and making choices from hope. It looks like trying new things, being a little awkward 😉 and laughing my way through it. It looks like being up to something bigger because choosing from hope is such a more fun, powerful and transformational place to live from. .
I’m hoping YOU are having a week full of living and choosing from your hopes, not your fears ❤️😘 .

Let’s talk about stress and yoga.
So you have this thing called an emotional brain.
You also have this thing called a logical brain.
These two brains each exist within that single brain inside your head.
The emotional brain stimulates something called a stress response through the release of adrenaline and cortisol.
It’s the logical brain’s job to shut this off.
When the stress response turns off,
this thing called the parasympathetic nervous system turns on,
calming us down.
Here’s how yoga fits in:
Every time we hold a posture
the logical brain is activated
through this thing called
c o n c e n t r a t i o n
(I’m sure you’ve heard of it before)
When we contract our muscles and trigger a stress response,
and then take a deeeeeep breath,
we are actually training our brain to relax.
through the practice of yoga we can actually rewire your mind to handle stressful situations with ease.

IT’S MY 2 YEAR @toneitup ANNIVERSARY 💗😭 Two years ago I made the decision to officially become a #TIUgirl and that one decision has changed my entire life. It’s funny because once I opened up my heart to the #TIUteam and open up my mind to the #TIUplan and #TIUlifestyle everything just clicked! 2 years has felt like an eternity, yet it’s also felt like it all went by so fast! I compare this feeling to being in a relationship or friendship where you’ve felt like you’ve known each other for longer than you actually have... The #TIUcommunity feels like that, it feels like home 💗
Being a #TIUgirl for 2 years has shown me that I am capable of SO MUCH MORE than I ever thought possible! @toneitup has empowered me to finally live the life I was always meant to live. I found a passion in health and wellness & I found a healthy lifestyle I truly love. TIU taught me that being healthy and fit can be FUN! 🤗 I’ve learned that being “healthy” doesn’t have to mean chugging protein shakes, counting every calorie, & spending hours in the gym... this is seriously what I thought being “fit” meant and boy have my eyes been opened! TIU showed me that instead being fit can be delicious, non-restrictive & enjoyable! I will never be able to say THANK YOU enough to @katrinaascott & @karenadawn for creating such an incredible community for all of us to thrive in 💗 These past 2 years have been the BEST years of my life & I can’t wait to see what another year brings! 🙏🏽 #TIUanniversary
