"Admittedly, I am one of those people who can’t seem to quiet their minds. My mind seems to jump from one topic to the next, moving seamlessly from work points to travel ideas, from thinking of what to get for lunch to blurting out something totally random. Practicing yoga, Ashtanga, in particular has helped me ‘quiet’ my mind - a rare feat considering the anxiety I get whenever I run out of things to do and thoughts to discuss.
Yoga has helped me sift through all the that run through my mind and only pick out things that are important and need immediate attention. It has helped me be in the ‘now.’ My thoughts and actions are intertwined and I am more productive because of it. My tasks are a lot faster, and make fewer mistakes.
Having a full time job as an architect, a freelancer, and a yoga teacher, its easy to get lost and distracted with all the things that’s happening in my daily life. Now, I put more thought into my daily activities and in way, it actually quiets my mind." - Inigo Paolo Lagunilla @ilagunilla, Ashtanga-Vinyasa Teacher. Swipe 👉 to see the videos of my trekking up Story to Mount Ijen Volcano and saw its Blue Fire🔥. If you haven’t visited Kawah Ijen before, you may have seen photos of its famous “blue fire”. The spectacular blue fire is ignited the sulphuric gas, which emerges from cracks at temperatures of up to 600 degrees Celsius.
However, what made me interested to see here is the men who put their lives at risk every day by mining toxic sulphur from inside the Kawah Ijen crater. Their day begins with a two-hour hike to reach the rim of the crater, with an elevation of around 2,800m. The men then make the steep descent into the crater, home to the largest highly acidic crater lake in the world.
They fill their baskets with hardened yellow sulphur. Pak Aan, was one of the Men I met and talked with. He and other men (miners) usually collect between 70 and 90 kilograms.
The sulphur, which is deep red in colour when molten, pours slowly from the ends of pipes and pools on the ground, turning bright yellow as it cools. It’s no surprise that the workers can’t afford proper equipment and protection. As such, complaints of respiratory afflictions and back problems are prevalent. After spending up to 12 hours a day surrounded by harmful smoke, the acidic nature of the gas can lead to irreversible lung damage and inflammation of the eyes. Sadly, some of the men don’t even reach 30 years of age due to the resulting health complications. Once their baskets are full, they begin the struggle back up to the top of the crater. The men then begin their descent, carrying the sulphur for three kilometres to the nearby Pultuding Valley. A portrait of our strong Ijen Men but need our attention🙏💪💪❤️❤️🇮🇩. @liest11#natureexploration#mytripmyadventure#mylife#yogagirl#eastjava#happylife#blessings#banyuwangihits#anakkekinianbanyuwangi#beautifulindonesia#natureexploration#explore#nature#naturephotography#banyuwangikota#travelling#yogagirls#yoga#yogis#nature#mountijen#climber

So, I'm gazing in the sky noticing how beautiful the full moon is tonight. I decided to take a picture -- like seriously, what the hell is that blue circle close to the Moon, that's moving closer to it each time I take the picture? I thought it was my camera lens, so I cleaned it, took a picture somewhere else, then went back to take another picture of the moon, and this still happened!! Does anybody else notice that?🤔 Hum? Just a bit curious 🤨 Any ideas?? As a yogi, you know, we noticed this sort of things 🎇✨ 😏
