Broooooooooooooooooooo yesssssssss 🖤
If you are scared to take a yoga class just get your ass to class. The getting to class is the toughest part. I know I can make up a million excuses not to make it to my mat. It took years to make it to a studio. The great thing is you can practice at home. Start small, maybe commit to a yoga practice 3 times a week for 5 minutes a session then grow from there. Take it slow, take baby steps, and I guarantee your practice will grow.
**Always remember to talk to your doc before you start a yoga practice. Listen to your body**
Ever thought about what you’d say to your younger self? With all the experiences you’ve had, the hard lessons, the triumphs, would there be anything you’d warn against or council yourself to do differently?
Other than making sure I did in fact take that road trip to the Baja instead of staying home for the job I had at the time...the job that I can’t even remember what it was or what I was doing that made me turn that amazing opportunity down...I’m not sure I’d change a thing.
In fact, I’d prefer if it was the other way around...if my older self could talk to my younger self. And when we spoke I’d tell her of all the things that have happened that she’d believed to be impossible. I’d tell her that dreams do in fact come true and that belief in herself was key to her success. I’d tell her to reach for the stars because one day she’d dance on stage amongst them.
For whatever reason, sometimes our accomplishments are harder to see when we’re in the midst of them. Test it out right now. Pause where you’re at, even close your eyes and think back on the few things you’d tell your younger self you’ve done that your younger self might not have believed possible. Notice how it feels, let yourself take it in. Then, remind yourself that the goal you’ve been working toward, the thing you’ve put off for fear of failure, for lack of belief in what you can do IS possible because of all the incredible things you’ve done before now. #tuesdaytruth don’t be the only thing standing in your way. Believe in yourself, if not for you, do it for the little version of you that needs to believe in the possibility of her dreams.

Tonificam o sistema nervoso e fortalecem a medula espinhal.
Gostaram? Vamos incluir o Yoga na nossa rotina? .
Silêncio acalma a alma!✌🏼 Se você vive ansiosa(o) e agitada(o), minha dica é!
✨WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS✨ surrounding yourself with people who support, uplift and inspire you is EVERYTHING!!! The people that you engage with regularly can have a huge impact on your life + energy...especially for a sensitive empath like me 😅 Studies show that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with which is why I tend to focus on cultivating relationships with positive, HIGH VIBE people who are genuinely kind and loving because that is ultimately how I would like to be towards myself and others 🥰 So how do you know if your friendships are nourishing you or draining you? It’s pretty simple: if more times than not you feel better after being around them it’s a go 👍🏼 if you feel worse more times than not it’s a NO👎🏼 I like my people like I like my products: #nontoxic 🙌🏼 #namastshay

B A L A N C E
Balance has been a major theme me this year. My main goal is to avoid being overwhelmed through over-stimulation (being “busy” and exhausted) or under-stimulation (isolation and loneliness). I’ve had experience with both, and neither serves me well. I’d say it’s been going well so far...I’m able to connect with people in more meaningful ways - spending time with friends and family, serving others, being productive, while also finding time to recharge and refill my cup. Ahh, the sweet taste of balance.
I can honestly say I’ve recognized a change in the way I felt most of last year (drained and isolated) and the way I feel this year (energized and hopeful) - recognizing when I need community, and when I need alone time/rest. Balance is obvi going to feel different for everyone, so I’d encourage everyone to figure out what that might look or feel like for you, and do your best to implement any changes that may help you get closer to your center 🧘🏿♀️|🧘🏿♂️...most importantly, be kind to yourselves! ♥️
Anyway, that’s all I got for now. Bah-eeeeeehh 👋🏿
Flowing with gratitude today. My life isn’t perfect & I am no where near perfect, but I can’t focus on those things. I am grateful for all the love that I hold in my heart. I am grateful for health, my family, that all my needs are met (clothing, home & food), grateful for nature and my practice.
What are you grateful for today?
Swipe to see my mishap from this morning? 🤦♀️ 6am class probs
I COULD have let that mistake ruin my whole day. I COULD have chosen to be in a bad mood because my day started on the wrong foot (pun intended). But I learned a great phrase at my #YogaFit training this weekend.
FACE then REPLACE
FACE the negative emotion I am feeling (irritation) and instead REPLACE it with a positive emotion (grateful)
I choose to feel grateful that I have so many shoes that I even have the opportunity to get them mixed up. I choose to feel grateful that I have a job that allows me to go to work at 5:30 in the morning (when these mistakes are more likely to happen) instead of taking away quality family time in the evenings. I choose to feel grateful that at lease had 1 right and 1 left shoe!! You can’t always control when life throws at you, but you can control how you react to it!

Matt was a Hall of Fame basketball player in college. In his forties he discovered that the bruising contact from all those games was starting to take a toll on his body. He felt tired, stiff and worn-out. He started to attend hot yoga classes at ONE over his lunch-hour to get flexible and burn through the stress of his workday. Over the years, Matt's become an evangelist, of sorts, for the transformative power of yoga, especially for men. And he is now a 200 HR RYT.

Do you ever think about whether you made the right choice? “Your higher self is waiting for you by positioning you in the direction of good choices. This is a path that you must walk alone. No one can do it for you. There are guides, but if you view these guides as billboards offering their wares for price, you will make better choices. Know that it is your own choice and action that leads you to your destination...only by trekking yourself can you reach your ultimate destination free of any strings attached.
Life is a series of choices.
Be guided to make good ones.”
For centuries, the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage has not only been a physical experience but a spiritual one, too. The blisters, aching knees, and sore muscles...well, those are guaranteed. But, yoga has helped me transcend the physical experience and tap into the unique source of spiritual healing that the Camino can provide. Moving gracefully through yoga poses, even if it's only for 10 minutes a day, helps massage my muscles and soothe my feet. Once I reach my daily destination, it's wonderful to reconnect and restore my inner-balance while relaxing my body for the next day's walk.
I bend, I don’t break.⠀

Wearing so many hats these days it’s hard to keep up! 👩🏼🎤
I get off a client call only to jump on a WebEx conference to discuss data with my dissertation chair and field students emails at the same time. I edit photos while reviewing lectures I need to upload and post to Instagram while taking Zola for a walk. I think yoga is one of the only times I get to focus on just one thing at a time. I have to believe that’s why it’s been so important to me. .
What about you? Is yoga a way to shed your many hats as well?

Thank you guy who cruised by me on his bike and yelled “cool pose”. Also thank you for not running over me for being in the middle of the bike path. 😂 🚲
