I haven't been reading very much lately, there's just so much work to be done at my house 😂
QOTD: what are some special things from your childhood? (Movies, tv shows, books etc)
Anyone else swooning over this cover? Just me then? ;) Check out this new release by B. Kristin McMichael...
Andrew Lucan wanted out of the night human world, but all that has changed. Now he only wants one thing in life—Arianna to notice him. It has been weeks since he realized his unbelievable attraction to her. At first, he thought it was a sign that she would turn into a full-blooded Baku night human like him. However, that was impossible since she was female. Full-blooded Baku were always male. When she doesn’t turn into a Baku, he is left wondering why he is still attracted. There’s something that draws him to her, and either it needs to go away, or he is going to go crazy. There has to be a way to sedate his growing feelings even if he doesn’t know what they mean.

Magic Required by @hspaisley
. * I was given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.* (Thank You! 😊)
I absolutely cringe at the star system, but I will give this a solid 4.5 ⭐️ Okay, It has taken me forever to get this review done, I am a trash person, apparently.
I hope the author will forgive me when she hears that I LOVED this book so much!
This was like a perfect mix of fantasy, mystery, humor, and even mythology.
Set in 2047, (but I like that the world doesn’t feel so drastically different that I can’t relate,) Lochlan Ellyll is just a guy working for a security company who is trying to live a normal (albeit a tad redundant) average life.
Except, he is a Demi God with a past, and when he starts to have prophetic dreams, he knows his past has caught up with him.
I loved the character development in this book! From the easy, playful banter between Lochlan and his friends to his sarcastic way of thinking. While I enjoyed the world and the plot, I’d have to say it was the personalities and relationships I enjoyed the most, actually!
I also loved the easy way we’re given the backstory, (which I found super interesting, because, Celtic Mythology 🙌) We aren’t force fed tons of info. Just enough.
There’s a progression of intensity and mystery that makes it a definite page turner and I loved how weren’t left hanging with absolutely no resolution at the end, but we can be reassured that the story will go on.
H.S. Paisley is a very talented author! I cannot wait to see what adventures are in store for the next book.
EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT! Pre-order THE HAUNTED, upload your receipt, and you can get this very special, exclusive Haunted Pencil Pack for FREE! Check the link in the bio for details and terms!

qotd: what page are you currently on?
I’m on page 124 of Ruin and Rising. I wish I could be further but I’ve recently been so busy that I haven’t had any time to read!! I’m hoping to finish it this weekend though!
happy reading ♡
My first re-read continues! I finally finished Goblet of Fire and it was even more amazing than I remembered. Literally stopped reading at the end of the last task for a few days and was like “if I don’t finish it, it doesn’t have a sad ending” 😂. I’m excited to reread Order of the Phoenix! I know there’s sooo much info given in this one, that I probably missed some when I read it for the first time. ✨ What are you reading this week? I’ve been sick (blegh) which at least has given me time to read Wundersmith!
NEW BOOK READ!!!!! 🎉🎉 34 out of my goal of 52!
Marley and Me was written by John Grogan and I have to say it was a very funny book that had me laughing all the way until the end; the fact that this is a true story made it even funnier. It breached topics not commonly brought up in stories, such as crime and how it changed and impacts neighbourhood and people’s lives indirectly which I felt was fascinating. As I live in a calm and quiet village, I have never been impacted in the way I read, so I felt very interested in how the whole neighbourhood changed. He wrote in an easy writing style, it flowed well (he’s a columnist!) and was a pleasure to read which made the book.
However, due to it being a biography, I felt detached from the story. I couldn’t picture what was happening in my head, I was told it had happened but in no detail and I found that disappointing. There were also no emotions or conversations so I couldn’t get a deeper understanding of the characters, until we got to the very end chapters.
Because of this, I am going to rate it a 4 out of 5 🔆. 🎤The song I believe goes best with this book is Supermarket Flowers by Ed Sheeran. (Except about a dog, not his mum!) 🎤
Another fave pic of mine! Anything that has to do with the ACOTAR series is a fave😂 Love the relationship between the Suriel and Feyre so I couldn’t not get these bookmarks!
My favourite scene between the two of them is when he tells Feyre that Rhysand is her mate! I could read that chapter over and over.
Had a really unproductive start to the day but it picked up as they day went on and I’m ready to go away to Enniskillen for the next few days🖤
I just finished this on Sunday and LOVED IT! I had really high expectations and they were fulfilled! I love Cardan and Jude and Vivi and Oak and all of them!!! I don't have access to the Wicked King right now so I'll have to wait, which is making me impatient 😂! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
QOTD: Do you have any indoor plants?
I only have this little succulent (which I named Mark Zucculent), but I think it's pretty much dead 😪. It's definitely my fault because I forget to water it ALL. THE. TIME.
