I sure did not want to workout this morning but I couldn’t break the commitment I made to myself, so I hit play on workout 18/80 and pushed through. Even though my strength and energy wasn’t the best and I struggled through the moves, I still sweat. I still moved my body and got in exercise. Although it felt like a bad day for me physically, I looked down at all my equipment and seeing everything laid out I realized I really have gained strength (I actually feel like I need to get some heavier weights!) even on days like today. Day 4 of @ww#7DaysForEveryBody is my favorite fitness class! I’m currently on week 3 of LIIFT4 from @beachbody On Demand. I LOVE Beachbody On Demand, and I LOVE this particular program! I really like the short, intense, repetitive class set up that LIIFT4 and 21 Day Fix have. Here’s a peek at shoulder day (minus the core part which was cut off). Each block of these exercises is repeated 3x with a short break in between. I love not having to leave my house to workout too 😏 I have an awesome friend and coach @kriles who keeps me motivated and held accountable! ❤️ Also, big NSV here— last week I could hardly finish each set of shoulder flies with NO weight and this week I could finish them with 5 #!! This is huge for me and I’m proud of that! 💪🏼
Last night I whipped up another batch of my take on @wwsmartcookies 2SP banana bread. I made 4 small loaves today with 4 flavor variants: double chocolate, PB&J, cinnamon, and caramel chocolate chip.
Here’s how I make it (for a 4 loaf batch):
4 ripe bananas mashed
3/4 c oats
2 scoops @devotionnutrition angel food cake powder
1t baking powder
1/2 t salt
Mix everything together and split into 4 loaves. Bake at 350 for 25-30 min or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. I’ve made all different varieties (just make sure to check the points for any additions). #andismeals#2SPbananabread#goalin19
I know this will sound crazy ... and truthfully is possibly quite trivial to most ... but my heart is absolutely aching & breaking 💔 to witness the destruction of the beautiful wooded forest property next door . The house sold in November , and the new owners want a larger yard for their 2 boys ages 9 & 11 to play ? The entire 1 acre yard is not visible in this picture ... but it is HUGE and has a wonderful side area and forest behind ? I understand everyone’s choices are their own , but kids grow up quickly , they are involved in so many extracurricular activities , sports and school time . There’s just a short window of time and then they will lose all desire to “play outside “ . Do you ever feel stuck? Like your feet are lead and they can’t move? Winter does that to me a lot. It’s so cold. Today we’re in the negative temperature zone.
These are the times I need to get creative to get my movement and steps in. To battle the voice saying “cuddle up with a blanket”...to be productive...cross things off my to do list....get those heavy feet moving. Today I’m going to throw on a workout dvd while my toddler destroys his playroom. Even though I don’t want to, I’m going to do it anyway. Because I’m stronger than the weight holding my feet down and this cold. Or atleast, I’m going to keep telling myself that until I believe it. 🥶 ❄️

I forgot to add a few accountability posts from yesterday so I’ll share them now 😉. After 7.5 weeks of absolutely NO exercise & being extremely sedentary for HALF of that time due to the immense flare up of my arthritis that ALWAYS follows due to all of the Christmas baking & cleaning etc , & standing for hours & hours on end on my feet ... I was finalllllly feeling well enough to head back outdoors . I am seriously going to have to reconsider doing the Holiday Baking that I have always done for so many many years . I will be turning 60 years old 😵 in 11 months & sadly my body just can’t seem to handle the stress it bears on my body . I virtually lose an entire month where I simply haven’t the time to do any exercise because of the baking ... & I lose almost the exact same amount of time recovering afterwards 🤦🏻♀️. I definitely need to give it some deeper thought going forward in the future . But for now , I am ecstatic that I’m ready to rock my workouts once again .
