Feeling really anxious today (for no apparent reason) but working out always helps me get rid of some of the tension, de-stress and refocus! -
Today’s upper body workout 💪🏼💪🏼 it’s not all about the booty 🍑😂
So what about “that feeling after a workout?” What makes working out, FEEL so good? •
1.) Mood enhancement. Working out boosts “happy chemical” levels in your brain. Making you happier.
2.) Working out is a natural stress reliever and reduces anxiety and depression.
3.) Sense of accomplishment. Doing something you never thought you could do.
4.) Increased energy levels. More alert and focused throughout the day.
Keep this in mind next time you don’t “feel like it.” 💪🏼🙏🏼 #TrainingForLife

First time squatting in 2 weeks. Warming up with 8x3 of SSB box squats. Feeling pretty good other than my left hip which was a little tight. Just gonna keep working through.

“Who are you when the lights are off?” This is something I say to myself throughout each day. It means, are you just as hard a worker when no one is around or do you only go hard when there is people to show off to? When the lights are off and you’re in the gym by yourself, are you working just as hard as if you were under competition lights? So I ask you... who are YOU when the lights are off?
Little bench work with chains. 225lb on the bar + 30lb in chains... maybe... I’m guessing. Hit 6x2 of this the. 2x2. Did some close grip pause reps at 185lb after too. All in all a good day.

Don’t sleep on yoga, this was the hardest thing I’ve done in a while. Just trying to fix my back so I can get back to heavy squats and deadlifts. Sucks not being able to do what you love.

The picture on the left was taken on January 17th and the one on the right is from today. Kinda cool what 4 months can do. Having recently dropped out of college before the first picture I was kind of at a low point. I wasn’t eating well, I wasn’t going to the gym, and my mind wasn’t in the right spot. All that being said I made the change and started taking control of my life again. -
When I say “getting stronger everyday” I mean both mentally and physically. It’s not the physical part that’s herd, I mean I could work out all day. Rather, it’s the 5 AM workouts before a 12 hour shift. The setbacks and the feelings of self doubt that’s the hard part. I promise myself that I will continue to get stronger everyday.

Doing a little squatting today. Worked up to 315lbs. Next steps are working on my hip mobility. Gotta get that ass to grass.
I’m not proud to admit it but today was just one of those days. Low energy, not focused, lack of motivation. On my drive back home this quote popped into my head. I first learned this quote back in grade 12 in a program called pursuits. Shout out to all my water relatives (you know who you are). During the course we were forced to learn this quote word for word and recite it back to the class at a random time. I don’t remember it word for word anymore... to be honest I never completely did. However it’s the last line that has stuck with me. “Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.” These words have had a profound impact on my life. More than I thought they would. Today I had a bad workout, but tomorrow’s workout and every workout after that, and for the rest of my life I promise myself that I will do the fucking work no matter what it takes. Because life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it.
