Wouldn't it be great to have a ⏸ button?
If we could pause the chaos at home in the mornings like we can pause a movie just so we could get some shit done?
I used to think so too!
Then I remembered the 2 little cherubs wrestling and leaping across the lounge room were in fact 2 mini humans learning the way of the world and who was I to limit their curiosity and wonder by making them abide my need for control!
Does this mean I don't get mad and shout after to having to repeat myself for the 100th time?
HELL NO 🤬 I am human!! But what I have learned to do is let go of the need to have everything perfect and focus on getting the essentials DONE! 🍽 Who cares if the dirty dishes are still in the sink when I leave for work? 👕 who cares of there are PJs still on the floor at 4pm?
As soon as we can learn to focus on the important, we start to experience a much calmer pace...and isn't CALM what we are all aiming for?
*Real Talk* .
Last night, my husband looked at me, and said Daniele, you're a health coach, but you aren't being healthy. .
As much as I love to argue with most things he says, he's right. It has nothing to do with fitness or nutrition, although there have been lots of cookies lately, it has to do with what I pile on my plate. .
I feel the need to do all the things, and keep the house clean, and work and run a business, and I feel like I fall short when they aren't all perfect. .
But no one, definitely not my family or my Savior has put that load on me. I have picked up all these things I feel I'm supposed to do. .
I don't want to spend my holiday season feeling that way. I want to take care of myself mentally, just as much as I do physically. I'm ready for 3 weeks of peace and dropped expectations. .
Would love to have you join me in this journey. Starting the Monday after thanksgiving. Whether you need support with the physical, or mental side, we can walk together.
Homework at his own free will, on a Friday night, after having a long week at school???! T O T A L L Y #instaworthy
BUT, I’m all about transparency here.... so here’s the #truthbomb
Yes, he did ask to do his homework, despite my recommendation to wait. #overacheiver. He’s been up since the middle of the night and is EXHAUSTED. Ever done homework with a super tired 6 year old? Definitely not ideal.
In the background is another little boy who went through 3 wardrobe changes, all requiring my help.
I am also in the middle of an insanely hard workout from #shaunweek... and having to stop every 5 seconds to help the boys. While I was thankful for the breaks, it became discouraging to drag a 30 minute workout to 45+ minutes.
And then, the smoke alarm started chirping.🙄. I happen to have two large guard dogs... until they hear that chirp. Then they turn into needy, frantically shaking and panting slobber balls.
Did I mention my hubs is out of town? Rocking the mommy train solo - just an added bonus, right?🤣.
The point of my story is to remind you that what you see on social media is not always how it really is. Such a great reminder for all of us, as we continue to get bombarded with everyone’s “perfect” life highlight reel.
So...remember I said we had a fun family trip planned?? This is happening tomorrow!!!!! Our first time visiting Disneyworld! 😍 I put these welcome packs together for the boys. They have NO IDEA. 🙀 Can't wait to surprise them! 🙌🏽 #disneyworld#herewego#surprise#disney
Y’all, I’m getting CRAZY at the bar tonight 😏😉😂 Anyone else getting wild??

“I could never do what you do”
“I don’t know how you do it”
Some days I don’t know how I do it either. Days like today when all I wanted to do was take a nap. But naps don’t get results and things need to be done. .
Snow shoveled ✔️
A few loads of laundry ✔️
Family time ✔️
Kitchen cleaned ✔️
Small quick trip to the store ✔️
It all comes down to what you want from life. You make time for what’s important. I’m forever thankful that I have a strong able body that moves. I’ve neglected it for too many years. I’m taking me back.
“If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never halve it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.”
If there’s makeup on my face and a cute outfit, you bet I’m posting those rare moments (even if my phone is part of that selfie) it’s hard for mama to find time and energy but made time for our early Thanksgiving celebration at work #hrduties#eventplanning#workingmom#tiredmom#momof2
It’s been real, Cali, but I miss this little Nugget way too much to trade in the cold Atlanta weather I’m heading back to. 7 nights without @pepsithechorkie snuggles, 1 more to go! ✈️🍑♥️🐾 #pepsinugget#workingmom
When you win amazing jammies from one of your fav bloggers and one of your favorite people gifts you a @barefootdreams bathrobe, you relish in wearing both of them while the 8 inches of snow outside slowwwwly melts. Day 321 of #thisis40 and it was a movies and pajamas kinda day over here. And that’s totally ok!
Note to self..falling down the stairs and potentially breaking your coccyx in your 3rd trimester is a bad idea. Had been doing really well with my #studiotoneitup#tiupregnancy workouts, but now that it hurts to sit, squat and do anything lower body..and I cant really do ab stuff anyway, I've really been focusing on my upper body and preparing to lift a 30lb 3 yo and a new baby in a few months. Decided to take a look at @kelseywells#pwrprogram since my @sweat subscription is all paid up and sitting unused while I take a #bbg hiatus. I LOVED IT!! I am a home workout mama so I subbed all cables for my @bforcebands sport specific bands and it worked perfectly. My late hurt so good! It was nice to be able to pick body parts since I could avoid ab and leg stuff that hurt. Cant wait to try chest and tris! #tryingtostaymotivated#tiumama#bbgmom#workingmom#sweatysurgeon
Just over here pretending like we do this every week 💁♀️😂.
Meanwhile, husband goes about his usual weekly routine picking out the best produce for our week ahead from local farmer’s.
And we head straight for the reggae music and dog-patting section 😆 🐶

He was ready to lay back down this mid-morning... Didn't have to tell me twice (even to just watch YouTube 😂)
🌿 D R E A M cleanser 🌿
This stuff is so good it actually motivates this TIRED 😴 mom to wash my face. It melts into the skin and takes off the day like magic. 🦄
I can’t wait until my new customers get it in their hands next week!
November blues. I’m already on the struggle bus and it’s only November 😩❄️ like WHAT are we going to do all winter. Sure. Plenty of indoor activities but can I handle it alone?
Will I take the stroller?
Will I find a cart with two seats?
Will I be able to handle them by myself?
Swim class- need two adults
Indoor playground- Will the girls be safe?
Sometimes i wonder if they’d be better off in daycare. Sometimes I’m counting down the minutes till naptime and bedtime and then I feel guilty about not cherishing the time with them. Sometimes it’s hard when your husband works late nights and weekends but then you feel guilty bc other moms have it WAY harder.
Then you go to Whole Foods on a Friday night with girlfriends and realize 2 moms with 4 kids under 2 without a meltdown for nearly 2 hours is BADASS. We don’t give ourselves enough credit. We might fail but we keep trying and together we are stronger @jamiegail_
Thanks @rdevancho for the help 😘 #twinsofinstagram#twinmom#momsofmultiples#ig_twins#gallowgirls#sylviegail#haddieirene#wholefoods#momsnightout#momof2#dailyparenting#workingmom#sahm

Respect your specialty. Respect all the specialties.
Here’s the thing: in medicine there is no place for putting others down to make yourself feel better. There is no place to talk bad about other fields, especially not in in a public forum. Not on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, IRL or anywhere to be honest. People who do this are missing the point about medicine.
Medicine is all about collaboration. It’s all about working together to help take care of people. Real people who need real help. And you know what? I’m glad different fields exist. I trained a long time to be able to do my job. And I love taking care of infertility patients. But in no way do I do everything. I refer patients to generalists and to other specialists all the time. Because I believe that each patient will get the best care with a team based approach. It’s actually great that we all have different interests and expertise, it allows us all to be one piece of the puzzle in patient care.
It’s true that primary care physicians train to cover a little bit of everything. Which is amazingly difficult. But every good family practitioner, internist, or pediatrician understands the value in all the other fields. Similarly, in my field, every obgyn is trained for 4 years and training includes learning about all the subspecialties. This means that obgyns are trained in onc, infertility, high risk ob, urogyn, minimally invasive surgery, family planning, and more. And guess what? We all work together. Self awareness and understanding your own limits is part of being a good physician. Acknowledging that we all bring something to the table is important. And respecting our colleagues matters - because we really are #strongertogether 🖤
that hand on my arm is killlllin me 😭 also, mamas, i’ll be speaking alongside @whitneyeveport + @gerihirsch tomorrow at @buybuybaby in torrance. we’ll be chatting about our journey to mamahood and answering questions on the imbalance and joyful chaos that is mom life 🤷🏻♀️ if you’re not in LA, we’ll be streaming it live on youtube!

“Don’t let someone in the cheap seats give an expensive opinion on YOUR life”. +Rachel Hollis
When someone makes a comment that you can’t be a good mom & work outside the home at the same time, I hope you turn your head the other way. Too often women are judged; whether they work full time & their babies are cared for by someone else, whether they work full time inside their home, or whether they’re a stay-at-home mom. Someone will have an opinion on you, & we live in a world now where everyone feels THEIR opinion should be heard regardless of how beneficial it is.
I work full time outside the home, & I’m even taking on solo mom duty for 3 days while my husband is out of town. It doesn’t make me a bad mom that I get help from daycare to care for my boys during the day (we’re so blessed to have 3 amazing teachers that love them!) It doesn’t make me a bad mom that I’m not home with them 24/7. And it doesn’t make YOU a bad mom if you’re privileged to be home with your kiddos and you’re not necessarily working. If your babies smile at you when you walk through the door, you’re doing a good job 🙌🏼
