Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to give a talk alongside other women for @flair.image's "Influencing in Heels". More than sharing about fashion and trends, it was really celebrating Women's Month with all the strong and beautiful ladies who graced the event - fellow speakers, organizers, participants, and everyone part of it. Many thanks to Ginny Villegas of Flair Image for inviting me again and congratulations on another successful event! 🙏🏼

The art of making this ancestral weave truly deserves preservation. We must learn to not devalue this craft. Our Filipino roots are imbedded within these threads.
We have off the grid for a bit only because we are working tirelessly to uplift each and everyone of the artisans we collabo with.
Thank you 2019 Kudos for being a great start for us and for our many more collaborations to come.
Eva is a fourth generation weaver and we are so proud to be apart of her journey together with our partners @culturaid. We will be sharing more uplifting stories to come. We should always ignite and discover our inner artist within us .
Thank you @lactacydloveyourv & @habifair@candyreyes 💕 #womensmonth#womensmonth2019

As #WomensMonth starts to come to an end, I gotta give a big shoutout to all the amazing women I get to work with everyday. There is nothing like working with the dopest women who are on the frontier of digital media, entertainment and technology! They keep me inspired, they keep me together, they keep me in the know and they bring joy to my life everyday! #SheDidThat#Women

March 24 is the #feastday of #Saint#OscarRomero of San Salvador, #ElSalvador . He was assassinated while celebrating mass for speaking out against violence and murders during the civil war. In addition to his martrydom, we also remember other lives that were taken because of their outreach to the poor and #marginalized - men but also #women . On December 2, 1980 Maura Clarke and Ita Ford, two Maryknoll Sisters; Dorothy Kazel, an Ursuline Sister; and Jean Donovan, a Maryknoll Lay Missioner were #raped and murdered for standing up to death squads and helping people to deal with the #SocialSin of the #FirstWorld . May Holy Martyrs Maura, Ita, Dorothy and Jean, pray for us.

There's certain lessons we aren't taught as little girls. Like how love lost will affect her self esteem. Like how heart break can make a sweet woman bitter. Like how there's no telling if her cry will be understood. Like how longing for time to pass is the hope to her healing. Like how she will still get up every day and continue to give the world 100% while a million stories and questions take residence in her skin. No little girl is ever taught about such sickness: the aches of a broken-hearted woman.
#womensday#march#womensmonth#womeninhistory#greatwomen

Y’all. This week made one year I’ve been officially working as a nurse midwife. I can’t even summarize all of the events that have happened in the last 365 days but it’s been an experience for sure. Favorite part hands down is all of the clients I’ve met along the way who inspire me deeply and whose stories I’ve been honored to listen to and support. Second favorite part is being able to be an unapologetically black midwife for black women. Third favorite part having resources and really awesome wrap around services to be able to support the clients I serve. Fourth, the people I work with who keep me laughing (quite often)and fed. Fifth would be the stop and drops, ambulance rides and other adventures that seem to follow me in every step of my career. I’ll speak on my not so favorite parts when I have solutions for them 😉 .
Welcome to the conversation, the fight, and the solution! @joannelipman, author of "That’s What She Said: What Men Need to Know (and Women Need to Tell Them) About Working Together," has suggestions for how you can help close the gender gap. Because women can't (and shouldn't have to) do it alone. Link in bio 🔗
