Did you know that each woman experiences their periods and cycles in very unique ways? 💃
Women's cycles can vary between 21-40 days and have an average bleeding period of 3-5 days.
The pains, mood's swings / shifts, energy levels, and everything entailed in cycles change from woman to woman - there is no such thing as an 'one size fits all' (lets face it, it would be too boring otherwise 😉)
Do you know how long your cycle lasts for? ⏱
Our 📦 is fully customisable, so that you can choose the products that you want according to your personal needs❣️You can also set within which frequency you would like to have it delivered at home (always respecting your own timing)
Rusty Humming Bird Mug: Summer is finally here in Tahoe. In the mornings I've been running between the poppies and wild flowers of Martis Valley. Yay!! I've also been hard at work. Small batch of newly designed cups and mugs are headed to the shop on Wednesday.
If you don’t grocery shop like Josie, then you’re doing it wrong 💁🏻♀️ #queenjosie
It was extra cute because EVERYONE at Winco kept asking us if she is always this happy/chill/good/etc! We love being able to answer YES because we love bragging about how good she is to us 😆 She’s almost too big to lounge like this so we are going to take advantage of it as much as possible on these long shopping trips! 💞

Let’s talk about the big reason why people choose to buy fast fashion as compared to sustainable: the cost.
Everyone knows that the clothes they buy when they walk in to Forever 21 aren’t going to last them very long. But why are they so much cheaper than anything made sustainably?
Most eco-friendly clothes are made with organic crops that are normally grown without pesticides and aren’t genetically modified. Because of strict guidelines set on to be certified organic, it’s expensive to harvest them.
Most fabrics used to make sustainable clothes are typically made to order, so that there is less waste. Items that aren’t mass produced almost always cost more.
And then you add in the fact that sustainable brands normally are made ethically - so not in sweat shops, but that’s a whole different load that we don’t have time to unpack right now.
So, next time you see a shirt that’s a little more expensive, you know exactly why, and exactly why it’s still worth it. •

I’m excited to announce my new photography brand, Leandra Creative Co. My main focus will be brand photography for small businesses, engagements + portraits! I’m so excited about the fantastic companies and brands I’ve already linked up with in the Charlotte area I can't wait to start collaborating and working with these amazing entrepreneurs. Thanks for reading my novel (if you stuck around for all that lol). I’ll be sharing updates along the way, and I’m going to try to be as brutally honest about this process; the little wins, big fails and all the learning. ✨🧡 #launched (head to the beginning of this series to read the story in order 🙃)

In taking a greater mental inventory of where and how I want to grow, I’ve found happiest when I am making others feel great about themselves; confident, beautiful, radiant and proud of who they are and what they have accomplished. The best way I know how to do this is through photography. Now, after nearly a decade of being behind the lens, I know it deserves everything I have to give because even on the hardest days, I know its going to be worth it.

This was a dream that felt too big to ever vocalize to too many for fear it would get stomped on or bushed aside as just a hobby. It is scary to try something like this - to be my own boss, manager, and employee all at once, and omg do I still have SO much to learn 😅 but I’m ready for this growth! Honestly, it's always been tough for me to commit to something if I'm not the best or perfect at it, but I’m (slowly) learning that it's better to start than to be perfect.

It’s hard to explain something that feels like its always been a part of who you are. 🤷🏻♀️ Starting a business has always been a big dream of mine. A dream that felt too big to really pursue in college or immediately after. I continued to push myself into the next career, hoping to distract myself from what I knew I wanted to lean into, for fear it was too big of an undertaking, or I wasn’t good enough to build a successful biz, or be profitable.

I’ve partnered up with my incredibly talented friend and co creative gal @maghumphries of @mh_design_studio to do a full rebrand of what was once just a little side hustle called LCR Photography.📸
HEY HEY! Some new & fun stuff coming your way, friends! I’m so excited to share, I can’t even handle it (insert Kristen WiIg as Sue in SNL gif). 😂 It feels like this deserves more than just one little instagram square so I’m going to give it 6! 🗯

Diary of a budding entrepreneur #1 - Idea Generation
Thinking about the STEEP learning curve I have been climbing over the past year since working on Alchemize Fightwear. I started having NO CLUE about ANYTHING (I still don't really) and I think it might be interesting to keep a diary detailing my month to month feelings, learnings, and process while starting this company.
Maybe some of you find yourself in the position I am in, or I once was.
This is my journey:
Starting from the beginning, idea conception, month 1 (one year ago, June of 2018). Month one for me was rumination over what I wanted with no clear idea, plan, or action
"I will be graduating from school soon, I need to start making decisions about my future and my career but I don't have any idea what I want to do with my life." "I don't even know what I am good at. I don't think I am talented at or would like to rely solely on content creation, I need to create a product. But I don't know what that product is." "I want to sell something that is meaningful, that people actually need. I don't want to trick people into spending money thinking they "need" some bogus product. Maybe I am too idealistic and that doesn't exist" "I want to have more control over my time. I can't stand sitting at a desk all the time, I want to be active during the day. I don't like how I see myself in 20 years if I stay doing what I am doing. I don't like the person that I am when I am not moving around. I would love to structure my life around movement" "Ideally I would make a product that fulfills a personal need or serves a market I am a part of. What markets am I a part of? I do yoga, BJJ, meditation, I like travel, nature, the environment. What do any of those things have in common"
I iterated and iterated before I came up with the idea of making a women's jiu jitsu gear and apparel company. Some of my ideas were total garbage: drop-shipping on amazon, starting a mindfulness/movement blog, taking travel photos, copy writing on upwork, creating the worlds first composting porta-potty etc.
Alchemize was born when I discovered that I belonged to a niche & underserved group of people, women in combat sports

The kids were so excited to play on their new splash pad...it was definitely too cold outside, but they didn’t care! I’m excited to get lots of use out of this in the backyard on the days that we don’t head down to the lake this summer! What is your favorite summer backyard activity?
Thank you @histoye_toys for this fun new summer toy! Let me know if you guys want the link to this on @amazon!

〰️ people with plants 〰️ featuring our friend @lostcovejewelry 🧡
i’ve written a lot of things about plants over the years. about their needs and their care and the undeniable parallels between the life of a feeling, breathing, very much sentient and aware plant and the life of a human. so much of what we aspire to do here is contextualized by that connection — the intrinsic thread that links us all together: a love for plants, a sense of their magic, a desire to know more. i’ve been brainstorming more ways to connect with folks over plants, to meet and share and collaborate. we have something fun planned for later this month, stay tuned ...

Ever thought about the word #spinster ?
To me, it's a pejorative term for an unmarried woman.
Originally (i.e.1600s), a spinster was a female #handspinner that supported herself through her #spinning business. She earned enough on her own that marriage was a choice.
I'm proud to be a #spinster and to join generations of self-sufficient women supporting themselves through #craft and #entrepreneurship . *** #womenownedbusiness
