The week of bad workouts continues!
This workout was bad due to me not giving my legs enough time to rest since I worked them on Tuesday. I figured I’d do a little bit anyways just to see how I felt. I finished off with box jumps which felt decent but my knees felt a bit shakey after I finished a set, which means that was enough for them!
Even if you are having a bad week (workout wise) it’s always good to just keep at it because it may just be a little slump.
Only one more day now until my first few games since February. I’m not thrilled at all that I have to play in the snow, but hey that’s karma for injuring myself so often. A spicy set of 10 on 210kg with no ramping/ hitching. Felt hard but happy to keep them all legit for the first time in a while at this weight. ...Les orthèses trop serrées n’ont même pas duré 30min. J’ai essayé un taping kiné... je ne peux pas dire que ça soutient énormément et rien n’empêche l’hyperextension. On voit aussi que c’était un premier essai: il commence déjà à se décoller dans le pli du genou et il retrousse là où c’est courbé. So as a lot of my friends know it’s been a hard 9 months or so for me with injuries, I’ve had back issues as well as sciatica in the last 2 months really halting my progress on my leg development and more importantly my strength. After my back problems I was happy to get back above 300kg, worked my way back to 450kg (not the cleanest of lifts) and then this sciatica issue arose. But I’m getting better, and got to 450kg clean for 8, and after battling with myself I pushed to get 500kg for 6 fairly clean. Which might not be impressive to some and may be to others, but it’s the first time post injury I’ve gotten to 500kg, and it’s also the lightest I’ve ever weighed and lifting 500kg. By quite a lot. So I’m happy to be progressing and recovering. I do t want to hear any excuses why you can't workout. If you are really being honest, at the core, they are excuses.
When you decide to make your health a priority, you find solutions to get it done.
This morning's schedule meant that we were both working out together. Fun, yes. Logistically, it would have been a good excuse to put it off.
Crowded, yes. (I got the 5x5 hallway and two playful dogs to make due.) There was no room. That would have been a great excuse. Waking up this morning my knees felt tight. That could have been an easy one.
If you want something different then you do something different. Period. Ditch the excuses and get it done.

A decent set of 10 on 205kg. Followed this up with a rep every 30 seconds for 10 minutes on the same weight to get the volume in and practice my set up. Felt much better this week than it has recently apart from having a minging summer cold.
