Gewurtz so good it hurts. •
This baby right here is like a nice, normally-sized, beautiful bouquet of flowers that says “I really like you,” but not “I’m over the top in love with you after the first date.” It’s perfectly approachable and lovely. •
On the nose, it’s fresh and floral and fruity. This one is off-dry (aka mildly sweet-like you!) Notes of lychee, white 🍑, spices, 🍋 and lime. Pairs really well with food that has a little spice. 😉
More on the excellent Gaillac lunch. We started off tasting three whites. My favorite white was a little funky on it's own. Domaine Croix des Marchants, Fraicheur Perlee, 2017. Made of 34% muscadelle, 33% loin de l'ceil, 33% maurzac, this wine definitely had vegatal characteristics, which is not something I typically like. But, to me, it was this corn husk smell/taste in addition to a wet stone thing which was actually a cool combo. The wine had a surprisingly big body, was a little waxy, not very fruity, and had a long dry finish. I think it was my favorite b/c of how it changed with the food. Chloe DC prepared a delicious salad of autumn greens, cucumbers, radish, and a sherry vinaigrette. With the food the wine lost those vegetal qualities, felt less grippy, and the minerality came out. All of the whites were big bodied, kinda grippy almost, and had long complex changing finishes.
The reds were paired along side the main, for me hanger steak with creamed winter greens, blistered red shishito peppers and crispy onions. The first wine poured was 75% Braucol, 15% prunelard and 10% syrah, the second 50/50 syrah/braucol, the third 95% syrah, 5% braucol. It was a great way to taste, see what each grape brought to the table and how they worked with one another. Braucol adds some green pepper notes, some roundess, and lowers the tannins a bit. It reminded me a bit of cab franc. I didn't get great notes on the reds, the delicious steak in front of me was too tempting to wait on, but, just like with the whites, I was really impressed with the palate complexity and length of finish.

WE ARE CELEBRATING WINE 🥂🍁
The most widespread celebration in Slovenia related to wine and the culture of wine is the celebration of St Martin's Day. It is celebrated today, on 11 November and for a week or two after that. You will not experience autumn dancing like this anywhere else in Europe, so visit one of the large celebrations of St Martin's Day. To really experience the celebration of St Martin's Day, you should drive to the source of wine—to vineyards and winemakers. St Martin's Day is celebrated not only in all Slovenian wine-growing regions, but from the Mediterranean Sea to the Pannonian plains. Be part of the merry atmosphere upon the birth of the new wine.
According to tradition must turns into wine on St Martin's Day; wine is christened all over Slovenia on that day when large public outdoor St Martin's Day celebrations also take place. The autumn events in Maribor, home to a grapevine that is more than 450 years old and the oldest vine in the world, include the exciting annual Old Vine Festival. The Festival ends with the St Martin's Day celebration known for its rich gastronomy and diverse cultural and music programme.

Say Cheese 🧀! What's your style 💕? Here I am with the Italian expert 🔝 (my new bestie), guiding me through a grand cheese tasting in the Provence Deli. We tried top cheese 🇮🇹 like: Castellino, Morlacco Cremoso, Blu Di Capra, Fior D' Arancio. Goodbye diet once again 👋 ! What's your favorite 😇 cheese and wine pairing?
About the 👇👇👇 cheeses
A cow's milk lemony, dolce & milky and slightly woody
A soft paste cheese made from pasteurized cow's milk. It is a fresh cheese with salty flavour and sporadic eyelets.
Blu Di Capra
It is a goat’s cheese that has a compact, ivory paste, mottled with greenish-blue veins. Upon ripening, this cheese develops an intense flavour, slightly piquant, but also very harmonious.
The young cow’s milk cheese, placed in barrels, and then bathed in Fior d’Arancio DOCG (a sweet wine produced with Moscato grapes grown in volcanic soil) for about 30 days. It is then left to finish aging on wooden planks. The wine helps the cheese develop aromas of stone fruits, honey, and orange blossom, all encased in a lush, full flavored paste. #wineandcheese#pairing#foodandwine@provencedeli

Taça 02 - PAZZIA OLD VINES 2014
There's been a new shipment of @bisolprosecco Talento rosé 2005! An amazing sparkling wine. It's made of 100% Pinot noir with such a complex and serious expression.
There might be Prosecco Rosé in a near future. After the extremely rich 2018 vintage, a high demand and so many producers starting to produce ‘Declassified rosé sparkling’, there’s a heated debate about whether or not to allow rosé winemaking into the appellation. For the moment it’s not yet allowed but definitely being discussed. There’s a traditional red grape variety which is still being grown in the region called Raboso. It might become the source for color along with Pinot noir. 📷: @winetourismmag
