Tonight is the neddle that broke the camels back. Another drive-by that may have taken someone's life a couple of feet down the street from where I live. The song #myblock by #tupac started running through my head because it's real if you live on my #street in my #neighborhood Lately all I've been thinking about is change. Theres got to be a better and #strategic way to #reach my #community there's got to be #hope for those that maybe #hopeless The only way to help with change is to be the #hands and #feet for the #people and get #involved so I decided to run for a #seat as an #atlarge#stakeholder for my #neighborhood#counsel#district#district6#westlake#macarthurpark#downtownLA#Downtown#campaigning will come quickly so I #pray and hope to get your #support#community#family#friends I am including my #statement below. #empowerla
Miss Alaniz has been a resident in the Westlake MacArthur Park area for 5 years. She has a passion for change that will improve the living conditions and help the socioeconomic status in her community. Her mission is to outreach and give back to the residents (those with homes and those that are homeless) in the Westlake territory. Elaine dedicates her free time serving as a volunteer for the Los Angeles Mayor's Crisis Response Team know as CRT (5 years). As a working professional that has labored in her community and a student who studies at the local community colleges and University, she understands firsthand the hardships and realities of living in the inner city. She believes that with the proper tools and education, nothing is impossible, and all dreams can come true. Her desire is to reach the younger generation by equipping them with the skills, trades, and education to prepare them for the workforce, so that they will be able to give back to the next generation.

It wasn't always unicorns & rainbows. It's been a battle, there were dark times and we almost folded a couple of times. It was all worth it though. It's part of GCRG'S story and shaped who we are as a league today. Conversely, there were more good times than bad. Amazing times full of awesome and win. Bonding, life long friendships, and growing as people. As teammates. GCRG started out in 2009 as a small town rink team in Texas before merging with Lake Charles' own Lafitte's Ladies in 2010.
2019 brings us to one of the best dynamics we have ever had, and WFTDA on our horizon.
Save the dates for our awesome 2019 season, and look for prize packs and giveaways filled with anniversary merch.

This relic of a theater sits across from MacArthur Park in downtown Los Angeles. I can’t even imagine how many amazing films came and went through this theater, let alone all the now vacant theaters in this city. The history is now overshadowed by discount sneaker stores and the homeless just looking for a shady place to rest. It’s hard to ignore it and I wish the films remained and the poverty was the the thing to disappear. 🎥🎞🎭
The city of living poetry is often where love story begins. You may meet your Mr. or Ms. Right across the bridge, like how Xu Xian and Bai Suzhen from Legend of the White Snake fell in love at the first sight romantically.

May we fill our little boat with big dreams, meander down the beautiful waterways, sail towards a fruitful year ahead and let the dreams fly.
