HEALTHY ACTIVE LIFESTYLE 4: SPORTS DRINKS
Nutrition is important before, during and after exercise. Start your exercise or other activity at least one hour after your last meal or shake and you should be well-hydrated. If you are sedentary or doing light activities, you just need water to stay hydrated. During exercise you need to have a Sports Drink with some sugar in it especially for prolonged exercise. This sugar provides glucose to your muscles to maintain the energy needed for muscles to relax after contracting. As muscles fatigue, they cramp since contraction is automatic while relaxation requires local energy stored in muscle cells. To avoid cramping stay hydrated to bring the nutrients to muscle including glucose. A range between 25 and 50 grams of sugar (half of which is glucose) may be needed to keep sugar in your muscles for jogging, cycling, football and other endurance sports. You should rely on thirst to know when to drink. The THIRST CENTER in your brain is very sensitive to dehydration with the slight shrinking of brain cells releasing protein signals that get you to feel thirst. Dehydration is a more serious threat to survival during starvation than lack of food which explains why we have such a sensitive system to stimulate thirst and hydration. Tea and coffee during the day count towards the 6 to 8 glasses of water needed per day with more needed in hot humid environments. Dehydration causes weakness, fatigue, constipation and muscle cramps. В нормальном плане питания должны присутствовать сложные углеводы, овощи, белки разной жирности, жиры разного происхождения. Для похудения умножьте свой текущий (а не желаемый) вес на 30, и получите калорийность, от которой сможете отталкиваться. Ешьте белок из расчета 1,5-2 г на килограмм веса, жиры – 1 г/каждый кг, а остальное добирайте углеводами – овощами и крупами. Не отказывайтесь от фруктов – 1-2 средних плода в день при дефиците калорий не навредят вашему похудению. А еще лучше – КУПИТЕ КУХОННЫЕ ВЕСЫ, заведите аккаунт в любом счетчике калорий и настраивайтесь на долгосрочную работу. Если в вашей диете этого нет, вы будете испытывать голод, переедать, снова голодать, снова переедать – топтаться на месте.

"Health and fitness is a fundamental component of my lifestyle – from education to sporting participation and leisure activities. I began my journey in the health and fitness industry with a goal to provide education and assistance to individuals, and improve their overall experience with exercise.
“With a Masters in Exercise Science and Strength and Conditioning, I have an extensive knowledge and understanding of appropriate methodologies and training parameters to deliver a comprehensive service to my clients who include amateur and elite athletes, and the general population.
“As a strength and conditioning coach, my training focuses on educating my clients to improve their movement patterns as well as providing a well-structured, individualised program to help them reach their goals while building a positive relationship with health and wellness.”
What is something you’re proud to have accomplished?
Man, sometimes I get really stuck in a puddle of self-doubt; I feel like I could do more and be more and push harder and prove something if.... but, if what? If I had more time? More energy? More support? More confidence? Here’s the thing: you have the same capacity as anyone else to achieve your goals- most of the same resources, internally and externally, as many who have succeeded before you. But until you define what success looks like for you- until you can acknowledge and appreciate every forward step and even the little backslides necessary to the journey, you will never be satisfied. And perhaps satisfaction isn’t the ultimate goal, and perhaps the lack thereof is, in fact, a driving force. But you still have to take time to appreciate the process and be proud of yourself and celebrate milestones.

Its been a month since I started using the @gowod_mobilityfirst app. I just did my mobility test and it looks like I have improved by 13% since I did the first test. My posterior chain did not improve at all unfortunately but it just shows how much more work I have to put in. One day toes! - I did my bench press today and added some more weight. I changed my form and it doesn't seem to be aggravating my elbow as much. Looks like things are healing up! I still took it easy just in case. I'm super tired now. Its been a long day. Have a good one!

Здоровое питание направлено на получение сбалансированного комплекса всех составляющих пищи: белков, жиров, углеводов, витаминов и минералов. Особое внимание уделяется распределению времени приема пищи, а также дробности питания.

Blueberry apple baked oats 🍏🍒
Ingredients: 2 cups of oats, 1 ripe mashed banana, 1 chopped apple, 2 cup frozen blueberries, 1 flax egg, 3/4 cup almond milk, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 Tb cinnamon, 1 tsp ginger, dash of nutmeg, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 1/4 cup agave syrup
Directions: mix dry and wet ingredients separately, then combine. Next, add the fruit to the mix. Place batter in an oiled pan and bake for ~20-25min at 180C. I’m not usually very exact with the timing so make sure you check on it 😂

Me today, as I was laid-up-in-bed sick. Although I had moments where I felt a little physically run down, I'd managed to fight it off for nearly a week--until today.
At first I was really irritated and frustrated cuz I did everything I could to build up my immune system, just for it to fail in the end during a time where I have a lot of important stuff going on, some of which I had to miss. ~
But today, even while I was in the throes of feeling shitty, I randomly had a sense of peace about it. I thought to myself, in spite of all its discomforts and or pain, all sickness really is, is your body communicating with you. It's your body's natural response in attempt to purge unhealthy shit that ain't supposed to be there. Or sometimes it can be your body's response to unhealthy habits or even thought/belief patterns. ~
We understandably get so frustrated with the process of illness that it's really easy to lose sight of the fact that it's ACTUALLY really just a renewal process. The whole Phoenix rising from the ashes metaphor. ~
The thoughts that accompanied my unexpected peace were of gratitude and acceptance. Might sound strange, but we ALWAYS have things we can be thankful for, so I chose to turn my thoughts there. I believe gratitude brings healing, and I'm truly grateful for the renewal process and how amazing it is that our bodies are self-healing machines! ~
Therefore I accept that this discomfort and pain are part of the process of renewal. Doesn't mean I'm not doing all I can to fight off the illness, just means I'm choosing to let go of the negative thoughts of frustration and irritability surrounding it. As this peace came over me, I even had this intuitive thought in my head that I can expect to see a burst of abundance, creativity and inspiration once this passes. ~
And whether we're talking about physical or emotional wellness, that's just how it goes, isn't it? You have to go through the painful refinement process before you transform into something badass! "Even diamonds start as coal."

This past weekend on 11/11, I celebrated with the 11th graduating YTT tribe @happyuyoga. I’m still stunned. It seems surreal that I’ve accomplished the goal I set out to do nearly a decade ago
Through this journey, I have reflected on how I reached this point in my life. The culmination of my experience was not without trauma. But I have found that the resilience and growth have been abundant because of my experience. I have been in the process of shedding the layers of myself to reveal what is raw and authentic. I am remembering my true nature and purpose.
I am reminded that happiness is my natural state and all that truly exists is this present moment.
I’m on a fierce mission to be the teacher who shares guidance for love, empowerment and authenticity. To share these tools to connect more deeply with ourselves so we are able to process our experiences and be active participants in our lives
