Happiest message to receive this morning from my lovely friend in Dubai. MY BOOK IS ON THE SHELF IN THE BIGGEST BOOKSTORE @kinokuniyadubai. You have know idea how much this makes me happy. 😄 🙏No one knows the story of my struggle in Dubai as I was writing this book. For a time in my life I was homeless there & fighting for a dream that no one else could see except me. People thought I was insane. I get that but in my heart I knew what I was doing. As I was writing my book Beauty & THE GUT I would go into this book store & look at all the books and say to myself, “I’m going to see my book on this shelf”. I really wanted it there. It’s MY FAVOURITE BOOK STORE & of course I love Dubai too so I’m incredibly happy & a little emotional as I type this message 🤣. Dubai will always be a home to me. I changed & transformed there. Without my struggles in Dubai I wouldn’t be doing what I am now. It forced me to be who I am, find the REAL me & bring all that I do to life & I’m so grateful. 📚 I’m struggling to get my book on UK 🇬🇧 shelves. I’ve spoken to @waterstones & they don’t seem to want to put it on the shelf but it is online. What I really want is to see it on the shelf. 📚🙏
💕Nobody can understand how much my book being on this shelf means to me as they haven’t been through the struggle I have to achieve this. I even told my parents & they didn’t care about it (I was a bit sad that I didn’t get a well done but I have to remember this is my dream & not everyone is going to get it). 💕I really do hope I can make it back to Dubai sometime in the future to see this for myself. I won’t be back to live but I do want to come say hi. I’m extremely frustrated in the UK 🇬🇧 especially where I’m living & I’m ready to branch out again & fly my wings to expand and take this to further destinations but for some reason life has me stuck here at this moment (I have to believe this is for a reason & when it’s my time I’ll be outta here). 💖So my Dubai friends it is my greatest pleasure to say PICK A COPY OF MY BOOK UP AT KINOKUNIYA in Dubai Mall. ❤️ I hear Borders had it too but it’s sold out now. Much love to ALL MY DUBAI FRIENDS & CLIENTS ❤️❤️ #beautyandthegut
My #New#Book#Another five #star#reviews on #Waterstones A friend #recommended this book to me after they read it I did actually purchase it on Amazon but for some reason I can’t leave a review so I thought I would do it here instead
The book is an #chekpractitioner amazing read and hard to put it down even though I’ve now read it from cover to cover I still keep going back to it to refer to certain parts for #inspiration
Since reading the book taking the advice and having a more positive attitude to life I’ve already achieved one of my goals and lost just under 1 stone in 4 weeks And will #continue with my #goals
The book is well presented is a really good #price for the information you get and the #free#gift within the book is a great offer
As this looks like Scots first book but looking at His #Facebook#profile I can see he seems to have years of experience and after messaging him and finding out he has a #new#book coming out at the end of this year I am eagerly #anticipating another good read
The definitive account of the disappearance of forty-three Mexican students
On September 26, 2014, a party of students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers’ College were en route to a protest when intercepted by local police. A confrontation ensued. Come the morning, the students were nowhere to be found. The crime that had transpired and the resultant cover-up brought the profound depths of corruption in the Mexican government and police force—as well as the vulnerability of ordinary Mexicans—into stark relief.
Investigative reporter Anabel Hernández reconstructs the terrible events of that night and its aftermath, giving us the most complete picture available. Her sources are unparalleled. In researching this book, she secured access to internal government documents that have not been made public and to surveillance footage the government has tried to hide and destroy. Hernández demolishes the Mexican state’s official version of events, which the Peña Nieto government cynically dubbed the “historic truth.” As her research shows, state officials at all levels, from police and prosecutors to the upper echelons of government, conspired to put together a fake case, concealing and manipulating evidence, and arresting and torturing dozens of “suspects,” procuring forced confessions to back up the official lie. By following the role of the various Mexican state agencies through the events in such remarkable detail, A Massacre in Mexico shows with exacting precision precisely who is responsible for this monumental crime and who needs to be held accountable #truecrimebooks#crimebooks#crimefiles#ilovecrimebooks#bookcrazy#bookmarks#bookmarks#bookcrazy#booklover#waterstones#thrillerbooks#lovebooks#bookblogger#amazonbooks#bookstagram#bookmarks#crimefiles#crazyaboutbooks#kindle#kindlebooks#foylesbooks#bookworm#ilovebooks#kindle#kindlebooks#kindle

The most formidable spy in history' Ian Fleming 'A superb biography ... More than a hundred books have been written about him and this is undoubtedly the best' Ben Macintyre
Richard Sorge was a man with two homelands. Born of a German father and a Russian mother in Baku in 1895, he moved in a world of shifting alliances and infinite possibility. A member of the angry and deluded generation who found new, radical faiths after their experiences on the battlefields of the First World War, Sorge became a fanatical communist - and the Soviet Union's most formidable spy.
Like many great spies, Sorge was an effortless seducer, combining charm with ruthless manipulation. He did not have to go undercover to find out closely guarded state secrets - his victims willingly shared them. As a foreign correspondent, he infiltrated and influenced the highest echelons of German, Chinese and Japanese society in the years leading up to and including the Second World War. His intelligence regarding Operation Barbarossa and Japanese intentions not to invade Siberia in 1941 proved pivotal to the Soviet counteroffensive in the Battle of Moscow, which in turn determined the outcome of the war.
Never before has Sorge's story been told from the Russian side as well as the German and Japanese. Owen Matthews takes a sweeping historical perspective and draws on a wealth of declassified Soviet archives - along with testimonies from those who knew and worked with Sorge - to rescue the riveting story of the man described by Ian Fleming as 'the most formidable spy in history'. #truecrimebooks#crimebooks#crimefiles#ilovecrimebooks#bookcrazy#bookmarks#bookmarks#bookcrazy#booklover#waterstones#thrillerbooks#lovebooks#bookblogger#amazonbooks#bookstagram#bookmarks#thrillerbooks#lovebooks#bookblogger#amazonbooks#bookstagram#bookmarks#kindle#kindlebooks#foylesbooks#bookworm#ilovebooks#kindle#kindlebooks#kindle

Purnell's account of Hall's hectic, amphetamine-fuelled exploits never falters. It recalls Caroline Moorehead's wonderful book, Village of Secrets but has an added touch of Ben Macintyre's brio ... A rousing tale of derring-do' The Times Book of the Week 'Riveting ... one of the most breath-taking stories yet told of female courage behind enemy lines' Sarah Helm, author of A Life in Secrets
In 1942, the Gestapo would stop at nothing to track down a mysterious 'limping lady' who was fighting for the freedom of France. The Nazi chiefs issued a simple but urgent command: 'She is the most dangerous of all Allied spies. We must find and destroy her.'
The Gestapo's target was Virginia Hall, a glamorous American with a wooden leg who broke through the barriers against her gender and disability to be the first woman to infiltrate Vichy France for the SOE. In so doing she helped turn the course of the intelligence war.
This is the epic tale of an heiress who determined that a hunting accident would not define her existence; a young woman who gambled her life to fight for the freedoms she believed in; an espionage novice who helped to light the flame of French Resistance.
Based on new and extensive research, Sonia Purnell has for the first time uncovered the full secret life of Virginia Hall, an astounding and inspiring story of heroism, spycraft, resistance and personal triumph over shocking adversity. 'A gripping, relevant and timely read about a remarkable woman from a talented writer' Deborah Frances-White, author of The Guilty Feminist
