I finished my first month of #walk1000miles just under 100 miles—nice to build in a little slack for bad weather days or being sick. Trying to keep awake enough to go outside tonight for the Super Blood Wolf Moon!

A time-lapse video of my journey from home to TTDI for a hike at Bukit Kiara today. Decided to take a different route by cruising in the city. It was dawn, the vibe was good and traffic was clear. Was driving within the speed limit, slightly bumpy as i was avoiding potholes and patches on the tarmac. I stopped by at Jasima TTDI for a half-boiled eggs to kick the dopamine and warmed up to the morning. Wanted to take a selfie as how James Franco did in the movie 127 hours and screamed out “just me. The music. And the night. Love it!”. Changed my mind and decided to just show a peace sign instead as my situation was entirely different. Enjoy ✌🏻 #walk1000miles#walk1000miles2019
Diary of the Reluctant Walker....Week 3
Miles walked : 27.4
Running Total : 76
Weight Loss : 8lbs ( also cut out Aldi Fruit & Nut Chocolate )
Well 3 weeks in and I’m still walking, luckily Will my partner is doing it with me which makes it more fun as we talk our heads off whilst doing it.... My walk to work is by the beautiful River Ouse so that’s a big plus for me .....a good 1.5 miles each way so actually covers my 3 miles a day target.
The weekends are for longer walks...one of our favourites is in York....along from home to the Millennium Bridge and into town for coffee and a bit of a mooch in the shops (walking shops being the favourite at the moment) then walk back home....good 5 miles ticked off.... This Sunday our big walk was the Helmsley Circular walk recommended by a friend, this walk for me was more of a challenge especially today with snow & ice still on the ground, slippy muddy steep steps (see photo’s) through the woods.....but can recommend the coffee at Rievaulx Abbey....it was needed as the next part of the walk was a pretty steep hill (which went on for ever) as Will was in the army he told me to do short steps instead of long strides as my legs were killing me....(lots of grit boxes also helped as they were my markers to get up this hill....rest points) then through the fields and back to the muddy steep steps....😩😩 7.5 miles later we got back to the car, great walk with just a few tricky parts (for me) !
Home to a cup of tea and a long soak in a bubble bath feeling really pleased with myself for doing it & completing another week.....off to Derby tomorrow with 10 friends to stay in a National Trust farmhouse so will hopefully get a few miles in with the Ladies ...some of whom are seriously good walkers....still hopefully a bit fitter now so I can keep up a little better with them.... See you next week with tales of my next walking adventures .... #walk1000miles
Stunning Portloe used for filming scenes from Rachel McAdams & Domhall Gleeson’s film ‘About Time’ in 2013. This shot Captured by @cornishwalkingtrails details a trail along the beautiful Roseland coastline, filled with lots of little coves and fishing ports. Time to get those walking boots on? #walkingcornwall 👣
Last nights bed for the night, it was definitely 5 star ⛰👍🏻
