"Stick with me, kid, and we'll go places"
All I want as a mother to a daughter is to raise her knowing she can do anything, and be anything she wants. Already, this little mama is a pint-sized firecracker and Lord help me in her teen years! I personally see that as a blessing, though. That means she will be a fighter. For her dreams, for what's right, for her friends and family. I am so thankful that I will be able to be there for her as much as she needs me as she goes through life.
Embracing our inner Greek Goddess! Five months ago we chose to believe in ourselves. As I celebrate this beautiful journey in a country I’ve had on my bucket list for 20 years, I remind myself of a quote that helped me take the leap.
“You don’t have to see the whole staircase, you just have to take the first step.” Martin Luther King

There's nothing like that window of time in the mornings where everything is shimmering with dew, you feel the newness of the day, the warm glow of the sun as it casts long shadows on everything and the birds are cheerfully singing away. Thank you God for giving me my heart's desire to raise my babies on a farm. ❤
Is it just me or have we all been there? 😅

Today she put on her vintage soft mint dress and begged me to walk her to grandmas boutique to get a butter mint. She ate one there and then walked this other one all the way home, loving how it matched her dress. She loves it so much she wanted to save it until home. I must admit, butter mints are a favorite of mine too. Does your kid like mint? She would eat my toothpaste if I let her. Lol
Ever go through something and think to yourself “Wow, if I can get through this in one piece, I can do ANYTHING.”
That’s how I felt in this picture. I was 7 days post partum back in the hospital for a hemorrhage. It happened at home, required multiple surgeries and a blood transfusion.
This event, needless to say, scared the hell out of my family, friends and myself. They are moments I’ll never forget because they changed my perspective on life and the time we have here with the people we love.
I’m sure many of you out there can relate! We’ve all had struggles in this life and are stronger on the other side! Your health and fitness journey is yet another challenge but has so many tangible rewards.
I’d love to hear from you! What’s your story?
// B A L A N C E // It's what most of us seek...but what is it exactly?
The truth of modern life is that there is no such thing as a line between work and home, and this line gets even blurrier when you work from home.
So the question becomes: do you need that line?
Read our Insight "How to balance home and work life" for suggestions to foster better home/work harmony for business owners as suggested my mums who participated in our Australian Mums in Business Survey earlier this year 👊🏼
Oh the work-at-home-mom guilt. Friday’s are my big day to bake for my home bakery. This guy gets a lot less of Mom’s attention on Fridays and I feel so bad about that, but I’m not really sure why. My mom was always working on a project, cleaning, sewing, crafting, or otherwise occupied when I was little and I don’t remember feeling neglected or unimportant. Our kids need us to let go and teach them how to be bored and not be the constant center of our attention. They need to see us being people outside of them, doing what we love to do. It’s also valuable for them to see us doing things we don’t love to do because that’s part of life too.I love my boys, and I love building my business, and playing trains alone never killed anyone 😜
So so excited for my friends “The Raney’s” who are on their second trip to Hawaii for free! If anyone deserves it it’s these amazing God fearing people! Check out what Cassie said about it! “Just 3 years ago we were desperate to afford groceries for our family. Stuck living on government assistance and food stamps. It was a long season of scarcity that God gave a daily manna type of faith. .
As we desperately sought to gain our health back we discovered God has so much more in store. He restored our physical and emotional health. He rose up streams in the desert. .
I remember one night I watched a story of a family who looked a lot like ours that took a chance on the business and transformed their entire financial future. My heart quickened a bit and I felt God saying this was how He was going to provide for us. So I opened my heart and jumped in with great fear but more hope than I ever had before. I simply wanted to buy our own groceries. I didn’t dream of luxury cars or lavish trips because we just wanted to survive. When you are in survival mode you don’t think about vacations. 11 years of marriage and we had never had been on vacation. .
Last year we brought the baby but this year to take our youngest children on a incredibly lavish, expenses paid trip to Hawaii... leaves me in tears. This gift is not lost on our family.
