Sometimes it is easy to forget that there are always two sides to everything, especially in the world of social media. I was saddened to hear news about the refugee situation in Turkey whilst editing images that I had taken at this beautiful part of the country. Life isn't always fair, but if we take a moment to be grateful for the smallest things that we have in our lives, we will realise how incredibly blessed we really are ❤️
ps: hanging out at what feels like the Garden of Eden and can you spot my company of the day ☺️

Be calm my life, my all. Only by calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together. Oh continue to love me, never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.
Ever Yours” #happybirthday#bırbırlargeziyor

✧ VIEWER DISCRETION ✧ Today is Thaipusam 🙏🏼 the biggest festival celebrated by Hindus after Deepavali. We actually went last year to Batu Caves Temple (before the stairs were painted in their now instafamous rainbow 🌈 colors) along with 1.6 million other people to witness this mind blowing holy event! Swipe Left 🔚👈🏼 to see some amazing footage we managed to catch while we were there ↠ more in our Stories as well. Viewer discretion 🔞 is advised

Here's some info about the Thaipusam festival in Malaysia 🇲🇾 that you won't believe! 🤯
Thaipusam is a celebration dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Murugan and is the most spectacular of all the Hindu festivals! But with body piercings 🗡 being a significant part of the festivities in Malaysia, it's not for the faint-hearted! 🙈 Devotees dress in yellow (an auspicious color for Hindus and the color of Lord Murugan) and make ‘sacrifices’ in return for answered prayers 🙏🏼 and forgiveness of sins. The sacrifices range from shaving one’s head or carrying a container of milk to piercing 🗡 the tongue 👅 or cheeks 🙀 to carrying a Kavadi. A Kavadi is a symbolic burden carried by a devotee to Lord Murugan with the intention of receiving blessings to fulfil their wishes. A Kavadi can be as heavy as 50kg! Many of the devotees walk up to 10 miles under the hot sun ☀️ carrying the 'Kavadi' and offerings, to reach the temple of the Lord Murugan at Batu Caves. Can you imagine carrying something so heavy on your back for 10 miles and then up 272 steps to the top where the cave temple is?? 😅 It's an unbelievable test of human devotion & willpower 💪🏼 and truly unreal to see! 👀 More unbelievable pics 📸 from this incredible holy event on our ✏ Thaipusam BLOG ↠ Click the Link in Bio!

OUR TIP for Batu Caves ↠Go at 7am for three reasons:
1) Watch the sun rise from behind the limestone cliffs and caves!
2) Beat the crowd and have the place all to yourself! (except on Thaipusam when the crowd of over 1 million come in from the night before)
3) Avoid the heat! It can get really warm and uncomfortable from 9am onwards.

Our spontaneous 24 hrs trip in the Harz National Park was a blast!
From 2014 I got to know my friend @muenchmax when we both startet with Instagram with less than 2000 followers. I do not know any other person who is not only talented but also disciplined and modest at the same time. That’s also why I was so excited about our very first shooting! What do you think about the result ? 🙃❄️
Sometimes I receive messages from my friends that said “How are you doing?” even though we’d not talked to each other for so long. I feel they are real friendships and what I want for my life. We don’t have to talk always, but real relationships never disappear. How are you and people around you?:)

Tranquil cloud-formations at Kelimutu ☁️ —
A shot that I kinda messed up the edit on back when I roamed Indonesia with @backpackertampan, @ali_olfat & @pesonaid_travel
So here’s another attempt - as a way to break my creative block in my process of editing Morocco photos.
Not gonna lie, but there was so much power in witnessing the true devotion of those that gathered for Thaipusam here in my home country. This festival has been going on all my life and I could beat myself for not capturing this sooner. Thank you for making me fall in love with Malaysia again and again, my fellow Malaysians. Happy Thaipusam to those that celebrate. You will definitely be seeing more festivals from me this 2019. Truly inspired! Swipe to see more of my favorite
Has to be my favourite castle I’ve visited, Dunnottar never fails to provide some absolute bangers.
