Oterdum, one of three "lost" villages in the historical Oosterhoek area. Due to industrialisation surrounding Delfzijl, the small village of Oterdum, sat near the sea-dike, was demolished in the 1970s. Some gravestones and a monument, a protective hand with a replica of Oterdum church, are silent reminders of the village's history.
The 'Hand of Oterdum' on the sea-dike, is one of the most captivating historical sites in Groningen.
