“To be your friend was all I ever wanted; to be your lover was all I ever dreamed.” – Valerie Lombardo
Don't get me wrong, I love the romance of an engagement session, but the joy? That's where the gold is. You're getting MARRIED and you should feel/show/shout all that joy you're feeling. Sure, the planning can get overwhelming at times, so all the more reason to celebrate and savor this season during your engagement session! ⠀
So, pick a favorite spot that means something to the both of you. Dress how you feel your best, pop some bubbly and celebrate! (These two did - can't you tell? I can't wait to share their session soon on the blog!)
Spring is my favorite time of year! The new life, growth and beauty after the darkness makes you want to live the best life you can! We have an ultrasound today and I am praying for good news and having a better idea of what our plan is!
A daily dose of cute for you on this Tuesday morning! Starting your marriage frolicking with a baby lamb together sounds pretty perfect if you ask us! @sevenspringsva // photo by @ariannabellephotography
Kelly and I met on a very windy (but gorgeously warm day in February) at the beautiful Amber Grove for her bridal portraits. I always encourage this time with the brides I collaborate with. Not only are bridal portraits fun in that the bride gets to try her complete look before her big day, but I sincerely enjoy the un-rushed time together. As a wedding photographer, capturing milestones and weddings is so much more to me than just images, it's a story, and it's the people involved that make the story compelling and worth telling! During our time at Amber Grove, I learned and got to experience firsthand the reasons why her and Austin selected this unique property as their venue, and what she was most anticipating in regards to her big day.
This georgeous bride featured The Jane Collection by @sbblooms in her bridal portrait session and all throughout her big day! I especially loved the eucalyptus and peonies, made for a graceful yet romantic vibe.
"The Waiting Game" the anticipation of a woman before she's a bride ❤🌹 The Blue Room: what I have named as the hidden gem of @ambergroveinn The gorgeous ship lap walls made for a soft, romantic setting... while the chandelier and fireplace made for regal features. The sun burst open the generous windows and through the overcast clouds, lighting the room perfectly. Kelly wore the stunning Monarch Gown gown from BHLDN . I loved the blush undertone and the sweeping train. Kelly's bouquet was abundant in an arrangement of eucalyptus, thistle, white roses and peonies.
There are several places we talk about visiting again ALL the time... like Hawaii, California, and Disney World... but we bring up Portugal more than we do anything else! When we were there, the US had a travel ban for any electronics bigger than an iPhone... they even took Justin’s GoPro to store under the plane... so I couldn’t risk bringing any of my gear and having to part with it at security in Morocco. No thank you. Looking back, it was such a blessing to have a 9 day trip without a camera in my hands! We still took a ton of photos with our iPhones and a little compact camera we bought for the trip... but I would love to see this country and all its colors on film! We really need to go back. My passport expires next year so I’ve just sent off all the paperwork for a new one (under the name Megan Glasbrenner this time!) and as soon as it comes in, I want to book another trip! European travel will require a visa pretty soon here so I’m trying to go before I have to do extra paperwork to get there! And if you’re debating your next destination... contemplate no longer. Portugal is the best!!

Spring has sprung!!
Well, if we are being technical, Spring officially begins tomorrow, but I am here for it!
Bring on the warmer weather, the pretty blooms, and WEDDINGS! 😍🎉💕🙌🏻 (But most importantly, we are a step closer to SUMMER!)
What’s your favorite part about spring? Comment below!
Changing up gears today and working on some graphics for my mom. Where do you find inspiration? Mine comes from light, flowers, open fields, fresh air, and greenery. The culmination of these things renews my spirit. It is an incredible feeling! ✨
All good things take time, right? The first day of Spring is TOMORROW, and I am so ready for it! I’m more than eager to pack away the winter coats, gloves, snow boots and say hello again to my flats, sandals, dresses and skirts again! 🙌🏼☀️🌷 Who else is excited for sunshine, warmer weather and blooming flowers? #bethannearthurphoto
Obsessed with sharing in so many couples love stories. Super excited that I will be a part of Tristan + Danielle's small, intimate wedding in October.
I still have a few 2019 wedding dates available and booking 2020 dates as well.

What’s the single best decision you’ve made that changed the game for you?⠀
For me, it was not quitting even when people didn’t want me to take their photos for free.

Today’s priority is editing! Then meeting one of our couples for their engagement session this evening! It’s a busy season right now but we’re so grateful for it and for the wonderful couples we get to serve! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What are you working on today?
Couple of lessons learned from shooting at the cheery blossoms in DC: it is packed in the evening/ afternoon and traffic and parking is terrible. This couple was over an hour late because it was such a mess. Luckily with just 10 minutes of light left, we were still able to make some beautiful photos.
But..... for any folks trying to book a session this year (peak blooms are only a few weeks away) plan on the am golden hour and if you MUST do evening, take the metro.

It all starts from a seed and knowing what it will become makes it that much more exciting to grow 🌱 and larkspur is up first on my to plant list! Last year I really did them dirty, like starting them when it was warm with all the other babies (they need their own cold spell to germinate properly) and transplanting them into the ground (they hated that bc they prefer to be directly seeded but they didn’t speak up so 🤷🏼♀️)
This year, I’m getting things right 💪🏻 or I’m on my way to, at least. I guess I can always count on cosmos to be abundant 😅 what are you all planting this year?!

Popping in to let y’all know I’m alive and well! I’ve been really trying to do better with time management and making sure I’m more present in the lives of friends and family. Also I really can not stand the thought of Tucker’s memories of his momma being some sort of screen constantly being stuck in front of my face. Starting next weekend things are going to stay pretty hectic into the summer with work so I’m super glad I set this time aside. For all my fellow photographers, Take note of this! PUT THE SCREENS DOWN. Take some time for yourself! It’s unbelievable how therapeutic it is to take a step back from the chaos of social media to reboot. I literally have to do this every couple of months or I’ll turn into an actual zombie. Well not actually. Anywaysss with that said, I’m feeling hella rejuvenated and I’m SO ready for all the crazy fun sessions coming up with lots of new faces and fun! Wooohoooo! Happy Monday sweet peas!
Also these humans featured above are heaven sent and I love them so much 💛
