Happy National Alaska day!! Alaska has a very special place in my heart but specifically King Cove, AK my Great Grandparents, Grandparents and my parents have all lived there at one time or another. My parents meet there and Les and I met there too! Salmon runs deep in our veins and I feel so incredibly lucky to be passing that down to our children. To visit dad on his boat when he’s in town, to picking salmon berries, smoking fish and running through the crab pots. Their childhood will be full of fresh air, adventure and salmon! •

This is the type of things kids do in a remote village in the hills of Nepal before school. Play with construction debris and brush your teeth at the same time.

#Rabari woman in her kitchen in #Narlai vilage, southern #Rajasthan. It was filled with choking smoke, she cooked over a small open fire, her kitchen equipment consisted of about two pots, the floor was compressed mud and cow dung yet here she was chatting on her mobile phone. The technology has transformed #India, leapfrogging the copper-wire, home-phone networks of the Western world and putting instant communications into the hands of just about every adult.
