10. Somya Jain, also known as our very own Jhansi ki Rani, is the other Somya Jain in our society. She is an extremely versatile artist who is always eager to learn more from everyone. She was a part of the team that worked on the amazing movie and music posters for Reverie '18 (check out the Beatles poster she painted in our Reverie highlights.) Somya has always been passionate about working for a cause, which is something everyone in the society admires about her. A lot of her works also show her advocating the causes she believes in or highlighting social causes. .
Additionally, it's always interesting to have a conversation with her. Whether it's about the Beatles, Indian Poetry or what book to read, she's your go-to person. (Her remarks about each of the works posted above are in the slides right after since IG has a word limit)
Somya's experience w Hues:
"I think one thing I'll take away from hues was the most basic of learning: how to paint. I was just an excited kid who had ideas that she couldn't paint on a canvas. While working on event artwork, I was trained in the most basic and important skills of how to make a base, how to put down strokes, and most importantly how to be patient with oneself. I saw artworks evolve within a period of 3 weeks and could observe that just being excited was not enough, one had to patiently build a painting. Ofcourse, that did not take away the love, it only intensified it. I soon started seeing how art builds through different steps and considerations and valued it even more. The members of hues have been a great inspiration because as I often find myself thinking that these brilliant individuals trained themselves and others to see the world in different through a different perspective by creative original works through different mediums and styles like calligraphy, jali, madhubanu, doodles, quills, and stitching. Just to be in a company of them in itself created such a humble source of awe and inspiration."💕
I love starting my day off with warm lemon water. It’s amazing how one tiny little change can make such a big impact! After 8 hours of sleep and most likely consuming no or minimal water your body is internally begging for hydration. The temperature of the water is actually key when it comes to flushing and rehydrating the digestive tract and awakening your body and mind. Here are 3 amazing benefits of starting your day with warm lemon water! 1. Sleep is the body’s prime time in repairing and regenerating itself. Drinking warm lemon water first thing helps support your liver and lymph system after it’s hard work in the night. 2. Drinking warm lemon water first thing in the morning has also been a proven method of maintaining and meeting a healthy weight by increasing your metabolism. 3. By supporting the immune system and flushing the toxins out of your body with it’s rich antioxidant, vitamin C, and potassium content, you’ll notice a big difference in the clarity of your skin. Get your glow on by using the natural citric acids in lemon to stimulate the production of fresh elastin and collagen. 🙌🏻

Happy Sunday, everyone! 😁 In line with my desire to do more photography in those residential neighborhoods that I don’t often go to, today I walked around Midtown Terrace where I spotted this row of colorful homes beneath Sutro Tower.
I hope you had a great weekend!
