Shopping is one of our favorite things to take part in this time of year! Remember to be aware of your surroundings in busy parking lots (drive slowly!) and to lock your car before you head into the mall! Together we can combat vehicle theft AND parking lot accidents this holiday season!
Today, as part of a multi jurisdictional auto fraud investigation, OCATT Detectives located a fraudulently purchased vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the City of Huntington Beach that had been reported stolen by the finance company. One of the suspects in the investigation, drove the vehicle away from the residence and with the assistance of the @chp_borderdivision, a felony stop was conducted and the driver was taken into custody for vehicle theft and further questioning. The investigation is on going. #ocatt#autothefttaskforce#incustody #10851 #police#sheriff#chp#vehicletheft#rollerreapers

Did you enjoy the fireworks last night?
While most of you were having a fun filled evening, watching the fireworks, enjoying the company of friends around a huge bonfire, some were working.
If you’re in the Security industry, holidays and events like last night are the busiest times of the year. While everyone else is having fun, we’re working, in whatever capacity, to keep you and yours safe.
But, we’re not the only ones hard at it .... the bad guys are out too!
While your eyes are turned to the sky, watching the fabulous firework displays across the country, crime rates sore as high as the rockets! So how can you help keep yourself safe?
You can start by locking your car!
Although modern cars are “marginally” harder to break into now, if you don’t actually lock it when you leave it you might as well put a big sign up saying “Take me”. You’d think this was pretty obvious, but you’d be surprised at just how many are left unlocked.
Night after night I hear stories of would be thieves walking along a line of parked cars trying every handle as they pass. Most of this type of crime is opportunistic .... so help protect yourself and your belongings.
Lock your car!
