Alright Fake Meat Heads!! A few weeks back we made a post asking what y’all liked better, Beyond or Impossible Burgers. It was a pretty split verdict.
Since that post we made it to a local spot who serves The Impossible. I loved the flavor and texture of the impossible but it REALLY hurt my stomach. When I started looking into it I read about how processes the soy in that burger was and I noticed that they actually have to add back Vitamins to that burger because the over processing strips the nutrients.. Needless to say, we’ve stuck with the @beyondmeat Burger. In fact we’ve moved it, and the rest of our burgers over to @localesantabarbara so that you can enjoy them @thegardensb #burgers#beyondmeat#vegetarian#monday
Just wanted to share a few habits that I recommend you all follow for a better life not only for you but also for the entire planet.
1. Eat less sugar, if you start reading the ingredients listed on packages you will realize it is not that difficult to eliminate sugar.
2. Do exercise, for your mental and physical health. The point is not to look skinny, the point is to be and feel healthier. Start small and progressively challenge yourself.
3. Eat an organic plant based diet. Here you will not only help yourself by eliminating a lot of toxins from your body but also you will help the planet. It is not only about killing less animals but also about saving water (making it accessible for people in poor countries) and saving trees ( and oxygen). 4. Try to eliminate plastic: use a reusable bottle for water and another one for coffee, store your food on glass containers, use a bamboo toothbrush, research in general how can you reduce the use of plastic.
5. Do NOT throw away clothes: donate it, sell it, reuse it for different DIY’s.
Remember that our food contains plastic, that is how dangerous this planet has became.
Today has been a good day! I had yogurt, a hard boiled egg, and some cherry tomatoes for breakfast. For lunch I had a black bean burger/sandwich with some mayo and a bit of cheese (I want to put vegan mayo and cheese I just didn’t have any, still really good) and a peach on the side. I tried this latte stuff my mom got that was a ginger and turmeric latte mix with some almond milk. It was good, it had a kick of spice in the back of my throat, but I really liked it. For dinner I had FireBowl which was a vegetarian meal. I created my own with fried tofu, Thai vegetables, Kung pao sauce, and brown rice, it was really filling and delicious!😋

Papaya salad som tam 📍🇲🇾 My favourite place for Thai food takeaways. It’s a stall operated by few Thai ladies that serve authentic Thai food, just like what I tried when I was in Thailand. This papaya salad is super spicy though, make sure you ask to reduce the spice level or your mouth/ stomach would be in for a real treat 😂 there’s cashews and deep fried anchovies for that extra crunch, great appetizer full of flavour, tangy, sweet and spicy. So good!! Make sure to try their glass noodles salad (yamunsen) and salted fish kailan, well actually everything there is good!! 😋😋 Rating out of 5: ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️
Anoche me dió por extraerle la fibra soluble a un puñado de linasa (uno de mis taantos medicamentos preventivos, de dosificación diaria 😆), dejándola una horas remojando en agua con movimiento ocasional. Este es un conocido y sano truquillo de verdadera cocina molecular (o quimicocina, como me gusta mejor decirle, por ser un enfoque más basado en el contenido que en la forma del alimento..), que es muy usado por veganos (y gente preocupada por su salud) como agente aglutinante en todo tipo de recetas, para demostrar que los huevod no son necesarios para esta tarea.. Entonces me hize una mini hamburgesa con un resto de "proteína completa" (lentejas y arroz), para demostrar el concepto y.. Quedó genial ☺

🌿🍝 Creamy Pasta Bowl! 📷 by @beferox 🚨🚨Recipe: For the cream sauce you'll simply need: 2 small potatoes (1 cup, peeled and cubed), 1 small white onion (roughly chopped), 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 2 tbsp. nutritional yeast, 1 1/3 cup of oat milk
Bring a small saucepan with water to a boil. Add the cubed potatoes and the chopped onion. Cook them for about 5-6 minutes or until the potato cubes are soft. Drain the water and add the veggies to a blender along with all the other ingredients. Blend until smooth and transfer the sauce back to the saucepan. Bring it to a boil for just a second and mix in any tomato sacue you like.
Mix the cream sauce with 350ml of vegan bolognese which is the perfect amount for 500g of pasta 😊

This #vegan and #whole30 Eggplant Cannelloni is a great dish for meatless Monday! The eggplant are grilled until tender and then filled with a creamy spinach and basil filling. These freeze really well and are great to pull out for these nights when you are in need of a quick dinner.
