Our recovery week goes on with 8 miles easy yesterday and 7 easy today, ran a couple of miles at target marathon pace today to keep us on our toes which is probably the fastest we’ll go for the rest of the week 👍. Running tomorrow another easy one ahead of embarking to Utrecht for the State of Trance Festival. There’s a big park near where we’ll be so I’m targeting a run Saturday afternoon when we get there before going in and one on Sunday when I’ve had a rest, it finishes at 6am 🤣. .
Next race for me is a 10k at the end of March as part of the buildup to London leading into a tbt as I’ve not done one for a while, this is the Normanby Hall 10k last year where I finished 3rd setting my current PB of 34:49, the race was great running with these guys pulling each other along until we hit a rather large incline at half way, here it became every man for themselves as the group broke up and I was running more to hang onto 3rd as it’s the highest I’ve ever finished in a race. The 10k were doing at the end of March is flat all the way and truth be told I’d like 33 minutes but am aware that it’s not going to be easy given our lack of training over the last few months. .
Still feeling like I’ve just got back into it despite running to plan in Verona so I’d be happy to match my 10k PB next month. Once we’ve got this weekend out the way we’re starting essentially the last bit of prep for London so if we don’t run as fast as we’d like in the 10k we’ll just wait until summer 👍, the focus is the marathon with a good 10k time giving us a bit more encouragement, it’d be nice to PB but a more solid performance is what we’re after ideally and if that’s slower than we’ll take it 👍. .
Down to London tomorrow to make our way over to the Netherlands where amidst the music we’ll try to do some running 😬, happy running!! 🏃🏃.
Hej Leute.
Back home now 👍, left Treviso yesterday near Venice and got home late afternoon. First thing we did was go out for five miles recovery 😁, more of a post race warmdown as it was rather packed round the finish area to do anything and I had to go and get the train to Treviso so didn’t have chance to do a warmdown straight after. .
7 miles today with 5 sets of 30 secs off 30 secs recovery at marathon pace with the last set being 30 secs off 30 secs strides. Now Verona is done the attention now begins to turn towards London and getting the marathon pace dialled in 👍, the long marathon paced sessions and long runs making a comeback to the schedule. .
Easy week this week for the most part before the London build up starts next week, anyway this weekend we’re away again. I’m off to Utrecht in the Netherlands for a trance music event 😁, I’m a big fan of a radio show called A State of Trance and after listening to the show for nearly 10 years I’ve finally decided to go to one of the yearly festival events that are put on, this one is celebrating the 900th episode of the show and it’s 8 hours of non stop music. Never been to one of these things before and I’m looking forward to the new experience that will surely deliver 😁.
Meantime here is the Fiume Adige, the river that flows through Verona and one of the areas id recommend you go visit if you ever go, it’s a lovely town with loads of history and culture 😃. Easy running until Friday which is when we go to Utrecht 😁🏃🏃.

Feeling good today.
After days of having achy muscles and my nose running more than I was able to; Frustration definitely got a hold of me for several days. I'm rarely sick - once a year or less!
But that's all part of preparing for this 50K right? Mentally getting stronger, building my body and immune system up tougher (with plants and green things!!) than it was before it was attacked and weakened..
Time to get out and run those hills harder than ever, as long as I can laugh and have fun all the while!! If it's not fun.. then why do it.. right??
4 miles in the boooooks 😌 today is my day to catch up and get stuff done for the week!! I love starting my week off strong and then giving myself wiggle room through the week! #veganrunners#veganrunning#balanceiskey

Der Sonne entgegen. ☀️ Oder: wie aus einem geplanten GA 1 Lauf über 12km aufgrund von mega Motivation durch das Wetter mehr geworden ist.
