Happy Martin Luther King Day! I admire this man so much. He is a hero in my book. As an artist and a proud American, it is my duty (my civic duty) to speak truth from my heart. MLK's words speak truth today. 🙏 We have hard working Americans who are struggling and aren't quite sure how they're going to feed their kids today. Soon, Walmart parking lots across America will be over crowded with American families living out of their cars. Shame on all the Senate Republicans sticking by Trump during this shutdown. Shame on all of you! Trump is destroying our country. He is ruining our reputation, weakening our credibility and our alliances. Americans are divided, but as a nation we must come together. If you have been impacted by this shutdown, check this website out for a number of resources that are available for you, ♥️ We must support our sisters and brothers as they go without a paycheck. As we celebrate what would have been Dr. King’s 90th birthday, we reflect on a legacy that means as much today as it did 50 years ago. Wisdom and action that guides us, lifts us, and unites us. #MLKDay#Empower
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." No, he didn’t mean we should be “color blind.” He meant we shouldn’t be *blinded by color.* Let’s try to do better, everyone—and I do mean EVERYONE, of every race, religion, gender, creed or political affiliation. RIP to the body—if not the undying spirit—of one of humanity’s great orators and people of conscience (even if, sadly, due to his personal indiscretions he likely wouldn’t pass modern cult of personality purity tests). #mlk#ihaveadream#dobetter#openmindsopenhearts#loveeachother❤️ #unite#dividedwefall
Happy MLK Day! We've got to remember Dr. King's legacy and continue his mission. Our nation needs so much healing and reconciliation. Though we really should have grown much more than we have since our inception, we currently see the fruit of all of the bad seeds sown for centuries. Our society still shakes because of broken covenants, attempted genocide, slavery, racism, sexism, lust and rebellion. God has given us everything we need to address these challenges but many in our nation prefer to pretend they don't exist. Let's stop looking the other way and going on with business as usual. Instead, let's start this conversation. Let us commit to reconciliation and healing. Let's break bread together and listen to each other's stories. That is the only way things will change. Join me in initiating the change. Last year, I shared a sermon on this very topic, making very clear how we are to continue Dr. King's work. Click the link in the bio or visit www.truthinspirit.org to watch that video. Tap the black & white picture of Dr. King that reads "Remembering Dr. King's Legacy" to watch the video on continuing his mission. #legacy#mlkday2019#mlk#drking#unity#unite#truthinspirit#truth#god#bible#messianic#christian#society#us#usa#oneamerica#blessings#starttheconversation#america#onenationundergod#healing#reconciliation#genocide#slavery#racism#sexism#god#tellyourstory
Hip Hop star Cardi B is a huge fan of Dancehall entertainer Spice.
In 2017, the “Money” rapper revealed that she has been listening to the “Queen of Dancehall” tracks for years when they met at the BET Hip Hop Awards in Fillmore, Miami Beach.
Earlier this week Spice uploaded some throwback videos while participating in the viral 10-year challenge and Cardi B slid in the comment sections to share that “Fight Over Man” was her all time favourite song from the deejay. “I know fight over man by heard,” Cardi B wrote.
Spice later responded saying, “I believe you… That’s facts i never forget when i met you and you sang “rude boy love” i didn’t even remember that song.” SC: TheTropixs
A few days ago a Native American veteran was taking part in an Indigenous People’s March when a crowd of young men with ‘Make America Great Again’ hats surround him and started to mock and be extremely disrespectful.
Watching the video made my heart sink. I honestly didn’t feel bad for #nathanphillips , I saw how much power and love he held while remaining to stay in prayer.
It was the young ignorant men I felt bad for. It’s obvious they live in fear. It’s obvious of the lack of love they have for themselves and others. Its obvious they don’t think for themselves and fall into the separation mentality.
When I saw the video, I automatically thought of this quote. #nathanphillips stood in courage as he brought light and love into such an ugly and disrespectful situation.
I know that the drumming and ceremony Nathan was in, planted a seed in some of their hearts and transmuted a lot of fear into love.
Love truly is the only way forward and to bring that to others, you must first bring it into your own heart. Practice compassion. Building a wall isn’t going to fix America’s problems, but uniting will.
Chaotic times we are in and it’s for the highest good. Keep going within, grounding yourself and following your bliss.
Don’t get caught up in the brain wash system that we are separate. Don’t give your power away. Think for yourself and do your own damn research. Be authentic.
