After the Berlin Marathon I was supposed to ramp down my mileage, train for a trail 25K in January, then switch gears for my first triathlon in June (@ironmantri Victoria 70.3). I feel like I have unfinished business with 26.2, so I’m debating my next steps carefully with my #fitfam. Ready to enjoy this time when my fitness is at an all-time high and I don’t have a worry in the world 😎
Ps. Bravo to you, Holger, for busting out a 3:32 in corral H and weaving through probably ten thousand people! 👏🏼
EFFORT is between you and you... greatness is simply showing up every day and throwing down as hard as you can, regardless of the result. Super proud of you @megleelvt —
“Two bloody feet, a pair of macerated quads and a set of raw lungs later... the mountain views were (mostly) worth it 👌🏻 .
Pic 1: Today was one of THOSE runs. Couldn't find the next gear, legs felt like lead weights. I think I'm still paying for Sunday's pace which in retrospect was too fast. On top of that, its was unbearably humid and a thousand bugs smashed into my face and landed in my mouth. But at 7.5 miles I got fed up and just started running as hard as I could. I passed a guy from my gym going the other direction and he gave me a high five. That really boosted me. Very pleased to finish a challenging run strong.
Pic 2: "If it stops I'm having an unshakable nightmare." This album just doesn't stop kicking ass. Been listening to it all summer and it still sounds fresh.
I’ve always been entranced by the allure of the Phoenix. The idea that from ashes, something greater and more powerful can rise. In the charred, ashen, bleak remains of journeys and moments that have not gone how we have hoped or believed can be a beautiful, golden flame ready to grow and dance through the smoke of half-won battles and half-ventured mountains - a flame to burn through our doubt and regret to remind us that sometimes we only made it halfway because we needed to find the strength to make it to the top of the mountain and beyond. The Phoenix embraces the moment whereupon we feel we’ve lost it all and reminds us that THAT moment can be a beautiful one - it can begin a new journey that will bring you to far greater heights. Courage is forged from fear and victory from defeat. It is through struggle, through walking side by side with the things we fear that we learn the most. Proud to be repping @fnx_fit as an ambassador As I continue on my own journey mentally and physically. In their words, we become greater when we rise together. ———————————————————
10.45 miles done this last Sunday. It was slow but it was the first time I went that distance without walking for any of it. Find your victory in every moment big or small and let it fuel your growth.

Thank you everyone for your kind words of support and encouragement! So many people reached out! I’m so blessed!! I’ve been chasing the 6 stars and Berlin was number 4 for me. I came through the finish line emotional because it was HARD. The last mile I just kept saying to myself... “never give up, I can do this.” I’m following my dreams and it’s feels amazing to accomplish another of the world majors. Seven weeks until I run New York! #abbottworldmarathonmajors#berlinmarathon2018#germany#twentysixpointtwo#runlikeagirl#followyourdreams❤️
"Running was mankind's first fine art, our original act of inspired creation. Way before we were scratching pictures on caves or beating rhythms on hollow trees, we were perfecting the art of combining our breath and mind and muscles into fluid self-propulsion over wild terrain. And when our ancestors finally did make their first cave paintings, what were the first designs? A downward slash, lightning bolts through the bottom and middle-behold, the Running Man." -Born to Run by Christopher McDougal
I am a marathoner
Milestone today for Meghan of BNG. Making the Pride, proud. “Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) put on an awesome 20 mile dress rehearsal to prepare for the Chicago Marathon this morning! No finisher medals for this one, rather a finisher shirt. No finish, no shirt. Lol! So. Much. Fun. Great volunteers and sponsors for this event! Loved it!! I’ve always been a runner, but I never dared to run this far ever. I never thought I could do it. Sometimes, when we stare fear in the eye, we surprise ourselves with just how resilient we really are.😉🎉 Bring on 26.2!!” #bngendurance#altred#truestartcoffee#drinkkra
T-minus 1 MONTH until these @charlottemarathon ambassadors head north to take on the CHICAGO MARATHON 🙌🏻 I’m feeling all the feels as I just finished my second 20 miler.
Running is more than the miles you log and the personal growth you experience, it’s a community of unique individuals who support and encourage each other, who will push you to chase down your goal and pull you along when you need it. Not to mention they’ll wake up to run with you at 5am, no questions asked 💕 🤣
In Charlotte and heading to Chicago too? Let me know!
